Elounda Gulf Villas by Sandglass

Enjoyed 8 nights here We had a 1 bed suite which was huge, with a lovely bathroom and separate lounge Food wise was excellent from the lovely breakfasts, daily lunches by the pool and 2 dinners in the evening Service was friendly and very helpful The villas are around an hour from airport (115 € exec transfer), then in taxis 10 mins from Elounda centre (10€), 15-20 from Plaka (15-€) and 20 mins from Ag Nic (16€) The pool was empty most days as people in pool villas stayed around the villas and others went to the beach club. On a couple of days it was a bit noisy, if family’s were playing in pool, but for the majority of time it was great !!! No probs we reserving beds due to amount of people using pool Beachclub ( located just past Domes hotel) - sea was lovely there on our visit Tip is to ask reception how many people have gone down their in the 15 min courtesy bus, as again it can be busy as only 2/3 working at bar restaurant and took us 1 hour to get lunch So in summary lovely villa, great food and we might be back in the future with our girls !!!

A very beautiful setting with faultless staff that work tirelessly. We travelled as a family of three, two adults and one 15 year old daughter. The hotel is very nice and when we arrived we were upgraded to a full sea view room, as opposed to our side sea view room booked with Jet2, which was very much appreciated. The rooms are a good size but I would say need a bit of modernisation and a full length mirror.. Also, I feel most visitors (except those with very young children) would prefer a walk in shower, rather than a shower over the bath. Having said that the power of the shower was excellent! The grounds are well kept and the Olive trees provide some well needed shade if a sun lounger with a parasol is unavailable. Sun loungers are vert comfortable. There’s two small private beaches and an indoor and outdoor pool of a reasonable size but not huge. The watersports are to one side of one of the beaches which is something to do during the day if you’re feeling energetic. The only down side to this hotel is the lack of evening entertainment. The sister hotel, Elounda Beach had entertainment on two evenings over our 12 night stay but nothing much going on apart from that. If you want a very relaxing time this hotel is perfect but if you like a little bit of something going on, you’ll probably find it a little bit too quiet. The staff really are amazing from the guest services, restaurant staff, beach attendants to the cleaners for the rooms, all are fantastic! Good location, 10 minute walk into Elounda Marina which is lovely, with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. Agios Nikolaos 20-30 minutes in a taxi and has a bit more in the way of shops, with lovely restaurants around the lake in the centre.
Naiades Marina Hotel

We have recently returned from a most enjoyable two week holiday based at this hotel with Thomas Cook. The Hotel is in a perfect position, close to all the main features of the town. Everything can be reached in ten minutes walking time, including the bus station and the lake. There are plenty of good tavernas, bars, supermarkets and shops close by. Our room, a standard double with sea-view, on the first floor, was very nicely appointed. It was cleaned and serviced everyday. The bed was large and very comfortable and together with the very low noise levels at night, we slept very well indeed. The balcony was a major disappointment, being only about two feet wide and was not really a place to sit. Rooms with an inland or pool view seem to have more spacious balconies. The wardrobe space was inadequate for two people with few hangars and hardly any shelves and no doors!. The bathroom was nicely appointed, with an excellent shower and plenty of hot water at all times. The airconditioning was brilliant and super quiet in operation; we had it set at 24° and were very comfotable Downstairs, pool area was lovely and very little used, you can also sit out by the pool at breakfast if you prefer. Breakfast was a big disappointment. The quality of the foods on offer was fine, but there was hardly any variety from day to day and very little hot food. The coffee machine would cease to function at busy times and needed five minutes to restart, it really needs replacing. The breakfast room was badly laid out; too many tables in too little space, resulting in bumping into fellow guests. A major plus are the staff, particularly the lovely ladies maning the front desk They are so friendly and knowledgable regarding the town and the local area. They will help make your stay trouble free and enjoyable.
Apollon Hotel

We arrived at Apollon Hotel at around 3am on Thursday 13th June 2024, after the hotel we had booked was unable/unwilling to provide us with the room we had booked. As you might expect, we were extremely worried about what we were going to do. All our fears were allayed when we were greeted at Apollon Hotel by Manolis, on reception. He listened to our predicament, reassured us all would be well, and showed us to the room he was happy to book us into. He made sure we knew all we needed to know, before bidding us a good night. To say we were relieved is a massive understatement! When we arose the next morning, and went down for breakfast, we were greeted by Manolis and his colleague on reception, Eleni. They both went to great lengths to make sure we'd had a comfortable night, and that we were now feeling better, after our horrendous experience at a rival hotel. Our week's stay at Apollon Hotel provided everything, and more, that we wanted or needed. The hotel is a two minute stroll to/from Ammos Beach; our room was clean, comfortable and spacious; our bed was comfortable; our balcony had a very pleasant view; the air-con was more than a match for the very high ambient temperatures; breakfast was plentiful, varied, and of a very high standard. Given the excellence of Apollon Hotel, and the level of satisfaction we experienced, it is quite something to say that the best part of our stay there was meeting and getting to know the staff there. Each and every one of them went above and beyond what could be reasonably expected; they made us feel that we were in the company of long-time friends, and we shall miss them until our return. We would unreservedly recommend Apollon Hotel.

The photos really don’t do this hotel justice. It’s beautiful with its own private beach. We stayed for a week at the end of the season and had the most amazing time. The hotel is clean, bright and welcoming. The restaurant staff are brilliant and the food excellent. Although the hotel is built into the hillside, there are 3 lifts and golf type buggies to get about on as it’s very steep in places. We used the gym a lot and it’s very well equipped, clean and air conditioned. The beach is great with a restaurant/cafe and bar. The staff there (especially Marianna and Chris) are brilliant. We also hired one of the boats a couple of times to sail around the bay. Also walked into Elounda which takes about 20/25 minutes at a stroll. Take care in places though as there aren’t any paths. All in all we’re definitely going back and probably in October again. Brilliant!

Found the hotel quiet & relaxing. Rooms I thought were basic but pefectly adequate. After touring other islands we found the breakfast was the best, catering for every nationality so well done there. Staff were very friendly, got to say a big thank you to Jeanette who was great fun & a fountain of knowledge for us & cooked great lunch. Pool didn't get crowded & plenty of sun beds. It is a 15/20 min stroll into town with a mostly level walk. Didn't like the 1st restaurant to the left. A small quiet beach 10 mins turning left out of the hotel. Only sour note is paying for air con, should be included in the price.
