First night, at check in: We were given the key to an occupied room. Walked right in on some guy sleeping before realizing what was going on. They gave us new keys and room number. Their 'system was down', but said that should be the end of our trouble... Second night (after day surgery): we walked in to find all our stuff was gone, room cleaned. Did we walk into the wrong room again? No: The front desk said they had moved us out accidentally, but not to worry: all our dirty clothes and toiletries had been dumped into our suitcase, and they would drop back by our room in a bit. The desk guy asked if there was anything he could do? Yeah: Don't enter my room again until after I check out. I would have asked for a refund but was too afraid of how they'd screw that up also. In years of traveling, never experienced anything like it. Unrelated note: there's a huge vagrant camp across the street (at least they know who's tent is who's).

This was my first and last time at this hotel. The checkin was easy, the room was clean, but around 9:30 pm I started to try to take a shower. The water would not run warm. We called the front desk who insisted we run it longer. This began a series of calls where the front desk would insist we just needed to run the water longer, and we kept it running. An hour later, at 10:30 pm, maintenance came, agreed our room had no hot water and we would be moved to a different room. We moved — and although the second room smelled like pee, we stayed there because we’re exhausted and we needed to be able to provide good care for a family member with health difficulties. The hour of missed sleep was one I really needed. The pee-room was not great. The breakfast is good. But for the money, I expected hot water with the room. And whatever was causing the smell in the second room is gross.

It is a very economical hotel in the local area. Others are generally around 200 US dollars. This hotel is about 100 US dollars. The hotel environment and facilities are a bit old, but the old hotel rooms are also larger. In general, it's not a very good hotel, but it's still acceptable for the price, it's 6 points. If the location is 2-3 bus stops from the city center, it is not too bad. I didn't take many pictures of the hotel. Just put a few pictures to make up the number.

The most iconic hotel in Anchorage, I had to stay even if I could only afford one night. Everything was good, the room was a bit small. Definitely paying big city prices for little old Alaska, which can feel like price gouging.

Breakfast personally feels good, there are oranges and apples, all one by one, good. The location is also in the urban area, the entrance is an American-style Japanese meal (American service ^ _ ^), grilled mainly in line with American taste, look at the taste of Chinese people. Pack airport transfers, not 24 hours in winter, 5 to 5 in the morning.

Breakfast is normal, the aunt is warm and welcoming; the room is clean and tidy; a few minutes drive from the airport; parking is free, there is a shuttle bus; the bathtub is a bit slow, overall satisfaction

Well my stay was great and the room was clean granted refrigerators really tiny and there's no microwave you have to actually ask for microwave and they don't tell you about it when you check in and they said that my room was close to the elevator and it's actually 64 rooms away from the elevator that was kind of tough trying to get maintenance up here to fix the lock on my door was a hassle it took 3 days I ended up being locked out of my room because the battery died I need a batteries in the TV remote at 23 days I ended up having to go buy my own because nobody ever showed up otherwise my stay was great thank you though they don't provide breakfast you have to actually pay for it and it's super expensive

Outstanding
NnwobDeal's Bed & Breakfast was a wonderful place to stay in Anchorage. I've seen the b&b described as ” staying at grandmas house”; it is and better. So warm and cozy, the B&B was a welcome home at the end of a long plane flight. The owners accommodated our late arrival and departure without issue. The room was big, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom had a tremendous tub and separate shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and of course hand cooked with care and to our liking. The owners are lovely people. Without hesitation, Deal's is highly recommended.
GGuest UserAs I reflect on my 3 week trip around Alaska I can't help but realize this was the worst of my experiences, and I stayed at a super 8. The room was musty and in dire need of a DEEP clean. the mattress was indented and old. I left this property with a rash on my neck and face. I brought this to their attention and was simply told ”sorry” and also that there were no bed bugs found in my room. I beg to differ, it took me over a week to recover. This was just the beginning unfortunately. The staff is obviously not happy and not treated well. The overall energy is very stiff and uptight. Restaurants were closed and understaffed, no bartender during the day to make drinks. I went off property for dinner and found great food elsewhere. Overall, its outdated and not worth the price of the room or food. I will say that the spa is so amazing and worth going to and worth the price. Go there and stay someone else in town!
GGuest UserFairfield was nice and fairly accommodating. We checked in and made arrangements for the shuttle to the train station two days later only to find out later that the staff had misinformed us as to the process. The evening before we were to leave on the train the staff said we were not properly registered for the shuttle, but they ”did us a favor” by making an exception. our toilet stopped up the first morning and they sent a repairman immediately to fix it. Breakfast was pretty good with hot eggs, bacon, waffles, and the usually cereal, etc. The room was very full (we had a groups of 4 and there were not enough seats) but very clean. A young man stood by the door to the kitchen to make sure everything was replenished, and he helped me get some bagels together for the next morning when we were leaving early. They also made a to-go breakfast for us for the morning we left since the dining room would not be open. Fairly close to the airport and not far from the Walmart in case you need anything.
GGuest UserWe arrived shortly before midnight and checked in. My youngest daughter reported that the shower faucet was broken. We reported to the front desk about the issue about 7:30 am and were told that it would be repaired by the time we got back from the Portage Lake excursion. Requested another room , none available according to the front desk We got back at 3pm and the issue was not corrected. Had the front desk call the manager about issue and she said they could not get a repair on the weekend. It seems to me that you would have someone on retainer for the weekends for this popular motel.. Manager would not authorize more than 1 day refund (we were to stay for 3 nights) instead of refunding 2 nights with a late checkout fee. The room was useless w/o shower. We left for another location. Talked to the manager about the issue. She was a real Karen. She was constantly over talking my wife who was requesting something to make it right. We will contest the whole bill with Discover card.
GGuest UserThe worst hotel experience we ever have had. We are a party of 8 with 3 kids. Arriving at 11 pm were told by the front desk that they only had one room for us because the hotel is overbooked. We booked two rooms. The front desk told us she would send us to Hilton and Hilton will have two rooms for us. I doubled checked with her if Hilton would have rooms and answer was yes. This is where the nightmare started. We moved to Hilton around midnight and the front desk said not a single room available and there was nothing they can do. We had to come back to Hampton and hoped to settle the kids down in the room which was available. But when we were back, the only room was gone and there was no room at all. When we questioned her about sending us to Hilton, she said she assumed they would have room for us. She assumed, did not even bother to check or make a call and sent us over. I checked online, and found out there was no single room available in this area from the Hilton chain. How would she make an assumption so easily and made us going back and forth in the mid nights and lost the only available room. We have a 6 year olds who became really grumpy and whiny. The trip started to get ruined at the moment. After talking to the front desk and she talking to her manage eventually at around 2:40am we had our first room. It had a single bed and a sofa bed, rather than the two queen beds booked. The hotel is under extensive renovation. A fire drill woke us up at 6:30am. What else could you encounter? Unlike the other review complaint about 'you will have to be shuttled to another hotel for complimentary breakfast options.', this option is not an option anymore. We stayed two nights there, and for the second one we asked if they have a room with two beds, the front desk(another lady) said no, and announced that their system could have a glitch and they are overbooked. No apologies or empathy. I might be over reading, but the tone sounded like we were the lucky one who bumped into this glitch and should blame ourselves for being that odds. We did not say anything back and left the hotel after two nights stay. They charged us full price for the two night, it indeed shows they didn't feel bad about the situation at all and it's ourselves to blame for the terrible experience. If you dare yourself and/or your family in a similar situation for a trip in Alaska, I would recommend this hotel, otherwise please stay away.
GGuest UserI stayed one night after a guided tour in Alaska. Their price was 1/3 of the last tour hotel. I was out on a cruise the next day and flew home after that. Shuttle service is excellent. Breakfast was as good as the pricier hotels we stayed in our tour. Checked in earlier than check in time. Room was just finished cleaning and the chemical odor was so strong. Have to open the window and door for a while. It was an excellent stay overall considering price and service.
MMyMyMaiEnjoyed our stay thanks to the microtel employees. I would definitely recommend and return for future trips. They even welcomed my dog (who may seem scary but is a sweet girl and service animal)
LLiangjiyouyouThe accommodation conditions are acceptable, the space is relatively spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The facilities are outdated, the breakfast variety is limited, and paper cups of milk are not replenished in time. The overall experience is average and the price/performance ratio is not good
GGuest UserThe room never cooled despite the AC being on constantly. The TV remote barely works and needs instructions to operate. The breakfast buffet was horrible coffee and stale/ dry muffins. Parking is limited and this is not the best part of downtown. It does have a medium size refrigerator with freezer and a microwave, but does not come stocked with any flatware. No in room coffee maker. There are no charge ports for charge cords and the available wall outlets are not conveniently located. It is overpriced for what is offered.
