Hotel SU & Aqualand

Konyaalti Beach Antalya|2.25km from Konyaalti Beach
Hotel was as the pictures show. As expected because the rooms are all white it’s easy to see all the scuff marks left by previous visitors. The halls leading to the rooms have black carpets and neon pink lighting which can be a bit dizzying. The rooms have large mirrors on each wall. Felt a bit like a “love hotel” in that sense, if you know what I mean. The bathrooms were clean with instant hot water and a very powerful shower, although what was disappointing was the toilet, I value cleanliness a lot especially with a toilet, they have a basic bidet loo with the the spray nozzle really sticking out which wasn’t t clean at all, I would have preferred a spray gun. They left paper/plastic cups in the room for teas/coffees, apparently for hygiene reasons, the cups smelled like chemicals, I would have preferred a usual ceramic mug being a 5 star hotel. The facilities were in abundance, the spa was definitely a big winner for me. The staff (for the hotel) on the other hand hardly smiled, were uninterested and really unhelpful 99% of the time. I felt like I was a burden even when requesting simple stuff like a bottle of water. I found very few spoke any English, and look I get I’m in a foreign country but if you’re going open up you lands to tourists at least be a bit prepared for the most spoken language in the world! I even used google translate at times but that didn’t seem very useful as for reasons unknown to me the staff still didn’t understand what I was asking for… I went in June, so the outdoor pool was open, I opted to use the indoor pool due to the high temperatures, it was nice that I had it all to myself, the pool was clean but the woods bordering the pool was wearing away and cracking. The hotel food wasn’t that great, I tried breakfast buffet once which was ok I guess for being around £6-7 pp. The lounge menu was dreadful, I ordered a ribeye steak that took 45mins only to be served with a thin overcooked, dry tuna looking thing. I tried to explain this wasn’t ribeye or anything that resembled a steak, they didn’t seem interested and were quick to hand me the bill. Outside the hotels is boulevard, a parade of around 30ish restaurants and coffee shops. Teaming with energy and life, they close around 1am every and have a lovely atmosphere. Prices are not too steep with a decent meal setting you back around 250tl. I’ve got to say I felt unwelcome in turkey, I also went to Istanbul a couple of weeks before this and had a similar experience. Perhaps I’m biased, I was a solo male traveler with a Middle Eastern /Asian complexion, I tipped well, spoke politely and tried not to bother too many people yet I felt like I shouldn’t be there. I have since learned by one of the cafe owners that Turks don’t actually like people of my “complexion” or anyone resembling Middle Eastern people which is disappointing, and the end of the day if you want the tourism be a bit more hospitable at the very least in the hotels.

Opera Suites Apart Hotel

Konyaalti Beach Antalya|0.44km from Konyaalti Beach
We were here with our daughter in July, we generally liked everything. From airport to hotel we got by taxi for $30, the taxi parking right from the exit from Antalya Airport. Agreed with the same taxi driver to take back to the airport, write off with him the day before departure, eventually he did not arrive in the morning) say that irresponsibility is a Turkish feature, so back to the airport taxi was called to the resepshen and eventually so was Much cheaper - thanks to guys on the respiratory they always help and explain everything to new arrivals :) The hotel is located near the beach, but you have to cross the carriage part. and pay if you want a lying with a umbrella (6 euros per person), we brought a towel with us. On the beach you can order drinks and food, bring straight to the lying and everything is very delicious. Clean room with kitchen, refrigerator, you can give things to wash, washed will bring the next day, there is a tug on the respiratory. Welcome staff , guys speak Russian or English. Good Wi-Fi, speed enough to work remotely, with video also. It is not the city center, you can get to the center by bus for 8 lira, better pay in the bus by applying your card to the terminal, but you can buy a ticket at the nearest food point (it is right at the stop) But there will take about 10-11 Lyr for one trip. Near the hotel there is a bank with ATMs on the street and a little further there is a currency exchange. By taxi to get to the old city paid 140-160 lira (bus 8 lira) We took a walking tour of the old Antalya, Antalya is an amazing city with the richest history. Another Turkish feature when they realize you are a tourist (of course by talking ) then the price can take off several times, for example, for ice cream we paid at one point one price (they scanned at the cashier) and already at another point that near the hotel, There was nothing scanned and for the same ice cream paid 6 times! more expensive. It's always so if there is no price for what you buy, including in a restaurant - go where the menu with prices. I hope my review will be useful to you and really recommend this hotel if you need to work remotely, as mostly in other hotels in Turkey the Internet will be at low speed. Now many people combine travel with work so Wi-Fi speed is a very important criterion in choosing a hotel.

The good... location great, 5min walk to the beach. Lots of restaurants and shops as soon as you step out onto the road. Good bus connections to quite a few attractions from your near bus stop. The bus KL08 seems to be the most popular one going into the old town. But there are other buses going there too including the big shopping malls like Migros, Mark Antalya ,Terra City and Laura Saturday Market. There is a Taxi stand on the way to the beach with set fares to other sight seeing places, all negotiable with the driver to arrange return pick up as well. It looked reliable and safe. Lots of Taxi call buttons all around Antalya. They are placed on the lamp post , they look like a door bell and are yellow saying Taxi on it. You only need to press the button and a Taxi will come with in a few minutes. By the way, a Taxi from the airport to Aspendos Suits cots between 90-100 TL. They do put their taxometer on. The room...has washing machine, stove, fridge, microwave and kettle. There is an iron and a small ironing board also a hairdryer available. On the balcony you have a drying rack for your clothes. Good size wardrobe and bed. A very good working air con. Very small pool available with loungers. The bad...poor Wi-fi...no full length mirror only a small one which is wedged between the wardrobe and wall and was hung so low that you can only see your belly button. Shower has lime scale all over and some mildew. There is a small mirror in the bathroom to see your face but the lighting is so poor that there is hardly any difference between the light on or off. No broom indoor broom or hoover available in the room. Though they came to clean the room the method was not satisfactory. I was present each time. One kitchen cloth was used to wipe everything in the bathroom with some solution which was stored in a normal juice bottle... so no idea what that was, it didn’t smell fresh and pleasant. I agreed for floor to be mopped by the cleaner. I wish I didn’t. Our room stunk of sewer. It was obvious that the mop was not cleaned or washed or changed. So I didn’t ask for mopping anymore. There were no fresh sponges for dishes available, only used ones from previous guests. The balcony furniture was very uncomfortable, wooden fragile chair and table. So I took my chair from the room out. Would of been nice to have a couple of lounger chairs available to make the most of the balcony and the sun. The room looked well used ... really it just needs to be cleaned properly especially the shower and fresh paint. A broom for the room would be great as you accumulate dust and sand stuck on your shoes from the beach and out door activities , which can’t be mopped up very well. Placing a full length mirror and appropriate lighting in the bathroom , having a new unused sponge and cloth place by the sink wouldn’t go a miss. Small changes would make a huge difference in my rating. Having said all of that , we really enjoyed our holiday.

The house is clean and tidy, with complete appliances. There is a supermarket 100 meters away. The apartment is equipped with a kitchenette, which can freely cook dishes suitable for taste. Outside the window is a pine forest, and you can walk to the beach in ten minutes. We continued to stay for a few more days. The front desk lady is very patient and friendly, will stay here next time.

My husband and I stayed at the Aspendos Seaside Apartment hotel for nearly a month. Nagehan and Ozgur at the front desk and all the other staff were helpful and efficient. This apartment hotel is located a short walk from the beach and is in easy reach of public transport. There is a Migros supermarket nearby and plenty of restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting apartment style living.

Good: Decent sized room with a TV, fridge and hair dryer. Good continental type breakfast. Swimming pool which was operational. Bad: Loose sink taps in our room and, unfortunately, the hotel has no lift.
