Extended Stay America Suites - Bakersfield - California Avenue

I have stayed with ESA in several locations and enjoyed my stay. At this location, I felt that my privacy was violated and I was not treated respectfully as a customer. I was charged a $100 deposit at check in that was not returned to me and my bank debit card was not accepted for payment. I was asked to pay cash throughout my stay. The room had carpet and laminate flooring damage at check in. People entered my room while I was away and management reported to me that my room was not clean to their standards.I ended my stay early as I was uncomfortable extending my stay there. I left the room clean. I will not visit this location in the future and I would not recommend to other travelers.

Absolutely the best hotel I’ve stayed at in many years. Great accommodations, great staff, great location, couldn’t be better. Considering the reason for visiting Bakersfield, the death of my older brother, the staff were very accommodating to me and another brother and his wife.

Domestic fast hotel, the law is quite satisfactory, the room is dark, the facilities are a bit old, the service is not bad, the price is very high, and there are many supermarkets and supermarkets.

We stumbled on this hotel at the last minute when diverted by traffic jam on I-5 heading towards Palm Springs from the north. Room was just fine. Breakfast was very good, even with limited selection in a time of COVID. The standout, however, was the people who staffed the place. Shoutout to Angi, but also to the housekeeping staff and its manager. They were beyond friendly and helpful. We liked the place so much and appreciated its very reasonable price that we went somewhat out of our way to stay there on our trip back north 10 days later. When my wife left behind the remote that ran her hearing devices, the housekeeping manager (Maura?) went so far out of her way to make sure that we got the expensive device successfully returned to us via UPS (no thanks to UPS) that we owe hear a GREAT debt of gratitude.

SERIOUS MISTAKE IN STAYING AT THIS HOTEL; stayed Friday night to Sunday afternoon due to business trip; door didn't lock in the first room; stayed in second room on first floor, near entrance, ice and snack machines - PEOPLE SPEAKING LOUDLY AND ALL KINDS OF NOISE AT ALL HOURS, couldn't sleep at all; coffee machine inside room but no coffee, creamer or sugar available (only available upon request but it was like pulling teeth); HOT BREAKFAST CONSISTED OF A SUBPAR BROWN PAPER BAG containing a presealed, very minute and bland-tasting breakfast sandwich, small yogurt and a juice - they claimed such is due to COVID-19 (but still FALSELY ADVERTISE hot breakfast on website); absolutely NO HOT WATER FOR BATHING; NO STAFF CLEANED MY ROOM; hotel is LOCATED IN A SEEDY AREA; this HOTEL IS A BUDGET HOTEL AT A MIDRANGE PRICE - wasted $270 for all this aggravation; DO YOURSELF A FAVOR - RUN THE OTHER WAY - SPEND A LITTLE MORE MONEY AND STAY AT A REPUTABLE, QUALITY HOTEL.
