My stay at the Bristol Hotel from 1st Sept to 5th Sept 2023, room No 103, in Baku was an absolute nightmare that stretched over four agonizing nights. Despite its touted central location, this ancient relic of a place doesn't even come close to resembling the "hotel" it's advertised as online. It's more like a dingy rental hostel with delusions of grandeur. Let's talk about breakfast – a lackluster, uninspired routine that required us to play a waiting game at their absurdly inconvenient hours. And don't even get me started on the absence of room service or the complete absence of drinking water. It's as if they're actively trying to make your stay as miserable as possible. The rooms are laughably non-soundproof, and the pitiful window curtains do nothing to shield you from the relentless onslaught of intrusive light, especially with a blaring nightclub next door. The fact that management couldn't care less about replacing those curtains is infuriating. But wait, there's more! The bathroom lock decided to throw a wrench into my already dreadful experience. I found myself trapped inside the bathroom, envisioning a nightmarish scenario where my partner wasn't in the room to rescue me. Can you imagine being stuck in there for hours, or even days? In all seriousness, I implore you, in the strongest terms possible, to steer clear of this establishment. It's an absolute travesty, and you deserve far better for your stay.
