Villa Canggu by Plataran

Dalung Bali|0.51km from Pura Dalem Beten Buah, Br.Peliatan, Kerobokan
We spent two nights here as the last part of our honeymoon and knowing Plataran as a brand, we expected a lot. We were picked up from the airport and checked in right after we arrived. They explained to us what we get and what we can do within the premise. We got to have afternoon tea and breakfast every afternoon and morning. There are a good many choices for breakfast and they even let you get more than one main dish. The villa we got was very spacious and we loved how easy it is to fall asleep in the bed because of the sound of pool water flowing and the air circulation from the front door to the back. The cleaning staff would come every now and then (twice a day, we think) to perform their regular turndown service, including mopping the floor and even closing the curtains. They provided us with flower arrangements on our bed and our bathtub. We also LOVED the jasmine soap because it reminded us of the flowers we wore during our wedding. And it's not just the rooms, but the Plataran complex itself was very spacious and packed with activities that you can spend two or three days just to do them. We did a few activities within the premise, including spa, making sambal, traditional Balinese dance and gamelan on our second day. We initially didn't think much about these activities, but they were actually very well executed. Even they had the chef for us to teach us making sambal while we chatted with him. On our second night, we had a romantic dinner which we thought was very thoughtful because while making sambal, the chef noticed our love for sambal so he provided us with many choices of sambals. Our appetizer even eloped with the chef's story of having sambal matah while fishing, so he gave us seared tuna with sambal matah. Traditional dance was taught with care and patience even with its limited time. Every staff is very attentive. You are treated not just as a regular guest, but as if you're a royalty. We think Plataran Canggu is a steal for its price.

Topnotch. Exceptional. Upon entry, I was elated to see the nice architecture, very unique interior design that showcases nature. Even though it’s not near the beach, the feeling of nature abounds— landscaping and greens even inside the rooms. Excellent indoor/outdoor feeling. Everything looks better than the pictures. Our private villa felt like a private oasis, almost like a second home. Kids had a wonderful time in the private pool with our own outdoor lounge and kitchen/dining area. We had a private chef cook for us (Chef Gede) and even booked his cooking class at the comfort of our own villa. Again, superb. I had an accident during the trip and they were kind enough to provide me with all the things I needed—even putting on a ramp without my asking. 🤎 Service was top notch. They accommodated my requests for errands. They have a WhatsApp number so everything was just a text away. Cleaning was done thoroughly and promptly every day. Amenities were beyond expectation. They decorated the villa for my sister’s birthday and even provided a complimentary cake. Walking distance from the villa are coffee shops and restaurants, although the villa didn’t make us want to go out anymore. A place to just chill and breathe in nature, and the perfect way to find yourself. Truly, the Santai was our home away from home. Thank you for giving us a great Bali experience 🤎

Umalas Suites

Dalung Bali|0.2km from Pura Dalem Beten Buah, Br.Peliatan, Kerobokan
Umalas Suites does not live up to its marketing claims of being conveniently located near Canggu and Seminyak. In reality, it can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour by taxi to reach these popular areas, leading to a sense of isolation for guests. The touted proximity to restaurants and shops also falls short, as there is only one café in the vicinity. Upon arrival, my experience took a turn for the worse. Not only was the electricity down, but I also discovered that my room had several issues, including a curtain hanging off the rails and soiled bed linen. It took a lengthy 12 hours for the electricity to be restored, but the staff were attentive in attending to these concerns including repairing a faulty safe and replacing a broken kettle. It's worth noting that the pool area has its drawbacks as well. By 12:30 pm, the sun goes behind the building, casting the pool area in shadow, which can be disappointing for guests looking to soak up the sun. Despite the management's initial offer of a partial refund as a goodwill gesture for the inconveniences faced, it has been a frustrating experience trying to obtain it. I was told it would be in my account within 5-7 days, but I am still waiting. Despite my numerous follow-ups through emails and international calls, it seems that I have been left hanging, suggesting that their intention to provide a refund was not genuine. This lack of responsiveness and accountability only adds to the disappointment of the overall experience.

We had stayed here in 2018 and loved the place but sadly a bit run down now and felt deserted. Kept very clean but toilet seats were a bit stained as was the bathtub. Closet doors in bedroom did not open without force, one extra hangar only. Lovely space, generous and king bed very comfortable, AC in bedroom worked very well and wifi was very good. Loved the downstairs lounge area out of the sun. Limited choice for dinner and breakfast but food was good and inexpensive. Really helpful people and tried very hard to solve little issues for us (toilet broken, pool needed cleaning, needed more soap, wanted water cooler) Pool area - wood decking at one end needs fixing. Lots of loose boards. Very friendly and they are trying to get back to a certain standard. No paying by credit card, cash or transfer only - should have been told that ahead I would think. Hope tourists and local come back and help rebuild a lovely place.

It's okay, the environment is good, the kitchen is a bit smaller, Chinese dishes and cauldrons are missing, but the landlord has a good attitude, and said that he would soon add two cauldrons. There is a little lack of it. The bedroom on the first floor and the bedroom on the second floor have windows that open from bottom to top. For families with children, you must look good on the children. The window is easily opened by the children. Too easy to open and fall down, be careful. Finally, I said that because the address is not very accurate, it is still a few hundred meters away from the actual location. We were looking for a long time and didn't find the landlord. I didn't answer the emergency call. The landlord gave a solution and was too satisfied with Ctrip. Here I would like to greatly praise Ctrip

A nice clean studio apartment with really nice staff. I stayed one week in room 321 ..photos below. The TV had all the necessary channels for smart TV ( Netflix, YouTube, etc) The room included a local boxed breakfast 🥞. The lights, AC, good hot water all worked well. I would have stayed longer but it's 4kms from the beach. I can definitely recommend for short stays. The apartments are located on a nice quiet street close to supermarkets and local and foreign restaurants.
