IBAH LUXURY VILLAS & SPA

Ubud Bali|0.42km from Radhadani Spa
Stayed 4 nights at end June 2022. Paid $336aud per night for an Ibah suite. We are a couple with a very active 2 year old boy and I was 6.5months pregnant. All of this is important to our review! Stunning setting, incredible jungle and peaceful but next to town. Incredible balcony views. The grounds are incredible, such a huge area to maintain. Lovely friendly staff, yummy breakfasts. The resort is sadly still struggling after covid, but reduced rates for rooms help. We felt what we paid per night was still a lot. Room needed some love generally, with several minor complaints which can be expected when they have only just reopened after many months of closure. Any more significant ones (e.g. toilet leaked, sink blocked up, and blind cords broke were all fixed very quickly upon request). Wish they'd been clearer about the services yet to resume when we booked so we could've set our expectations. The shuttle in and out of town was not yet back on, which wouldn't have been a problem without a toddler and being pregnant. Afternoon tea was not on, restaurant was not back open other than breakfast. Had to choose brekky options and timing the night before which was a bit annoying- on holiday not wanting to plan, and 2 year olds often have different wake up ideas day to day! Main thing that was hard was the unsuitability for toddlers. Sorry Warwick Ibah, but it's just not great for young kids. We are not super precious and rented a villa with a pool elsewhere we loved, but the hazards at Warwick Ibah were on a whole new level! Slippy pathways, big drop offs on balconies with low walls, ability to lock themselves in bathrooms, steep steps, steps at door thresholds, couches so high that falling off would result in injury, etc. It was exhausting not being able to look away for 30 seconds. If we were without our toddler I'm sure it would've felt very different though, I just want to share this for other parents of active toddlers. Finally, rooms are all very bespoke. Don't expect the room to look exactly like the photos from the booking page, each has it's own unique character. The hotel staff kindly moved us when we expressed our disappointment in the room we were first given in comparison to the photos we expected. In summary, either get a bargain room or check what services are yet to start; and don't take an active toddler. I really wish Warwick Ibah all the best in recovering from covid times- the wonderful staff and incredible property deserve it!

Meruhdani Boutique Hotel Ubud

Ubud
We stayed for 6 nights as we used Ubud as a hub to explore the northern part of the island. The hotel is in a prime location for restaurants and bars in Ubud. Room was spacious and clean with the usual amenities you’d expect (hairdryer, toiletries, tea and coffee etc) The staff were very accommodating and you could organise services such as scooter hire, laundry and excursions through the hotel if you wish. Breakfast is a short walk from reception (less than 50m) which was tasty with a good variety of choice. Would definitely recommend and return

The location is near Ubud and the transportation is very convenient. There are restaurants and convenience stores downstairs. Residents are simple, each room faces the pool, and breakfast in the courtyard is great! Quiet in the middle of the trouble, the first choice for a leisurely vacation!
Sama's Cottages and Villas

Sama’s is situated through a gateway leading off Jalan Bisma, a lovely lane in Ubud Walk down a little pathway to reception passing the pool and what was our villa, to be greeted warmly by the receptionist who checked us in and showed us our villa, a large open plan kitchen sitting room and comfortable bedroom. Outside was a lovely terrace with dining table and a large lounging sofa. The kitchen was equipped with a water dispenser providing chilled and boiling water, toaster, a microwave, glasses crockery etc Breakfast was ordered in advance from a nice selection of items and delivered freshly made each morning at a time of our choosing. Being fairly close to Jalan Bisma there was a little background noise in the evening from the bars and restaurants but it wasn’t intrusive in the slightest and all went quiet around 10:30 An amazing location not far from the hubbub of downtown ubud Can’t complain of anything during our stay and would stay again.

Ubud
We stayed here for two nights in early July, then as it was great we extended it for another 2 nights. Then we got married south of Ubud but ended up returning for another 4 nights at Gora house! The place is in a strategic position to visit Ubud: practically in the center but quiet! The room is very large, the bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is spacious. The veranda is beautiful and from the upper floors you can see the rice fields. The pool is very nice and the property also has a communal kitchen available which is very useful for long travelers. The staff guys are very friendly and helpful! In short, next time in Ubud we will definitely return to Gora house!

The location is nice, there were so many convenience stores nearby at walking distance. You may hear sounds of traffic but that did not bother us at all.
