Deep thanks to the team for looking after us as best they could. They even organised roses at late notice. The location is one of the best in Ubud. Its outside the gourmet area. Best cuisines within a short walk. The resort in itself is amazing layout. They have looked after it well. Pro Location Layout and design and interior peaceful setting Staff friendly. Please note Bali service can be quite intrusive (always asking where you went and what you doing, when one is there over a long period it gets draining). Con room - we had the suite. There was a large komodo or a very big rat in attic. Its scary that they have not done enough pest control. This is not a jungle resort in that everything inside it man made and manned. Snake - we were hissed at by a snake in the field walking to the lobby. They really need to do better control of public safe spaces. The Assistant manager denied it but the team on duty confirmed to me there was a snake and they took it back to the lakes. It was likely my spirit guides talking to us 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Priest We did the melakut blessing prayer. The priest on duty was not the most honourable. He inappropriately touched my wife. I reported it to the manager and advice travellers even the holy man has desires. Be careful with your loved ones. Overall we had a great stayed but downed by awful incidents. I ranked the above incidents under cleanliness.

My recent stay at Komaneka at Monkey Forest left an indelible impression, characterized by a combination of spacious and tranquil accommodations, exceptional amenities, and genuinely attentive staff. The 5-star experience commenced with a well-appointed and serene room, offering a spacious environment that was both restful and relaxing. The array of amenities provided by the resort was truly remarkable. The attention to detail was evident in every facet, from the well-maintained grounds to the thoughtfully curated in-room features. The seamless blend of modern comfort and traditional aesthetics added a unique charm to the overall ambiance. One aspect that stood out remarkably was the staff’s kindness and attentiveness. Their commitment to ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay was palpable, and it greatly contributed to the overall positive experience. Their impeccable service went beyond expectations, creating an atmosphere of genuine warmth. A highlight of the stay was the unexpected delight of encountering monkeys on the resort’s grounds. This added an element of natural wonder to the experience and provided a unique connection to the destination’s surroundings. The resort’s strategic location on Monkey Forest Road proved to be an ideal base for exploration. Immediate access to the vibrant Ubud market and the rich cultural activities of Ubud palace added convenience and enriched the overall stay. In conclusion, Komaneka at Monkey Forest offers a harmonious blend of relaxation and cultural immersion. The combination of serene accommodations, exceptional amenities, and attentive staff creates an atmosphere of refined luxury. My stay was enriched by the presence of monkeys on the premises, and I wholeheartedly look forward to returning. This resort is unequivocally deserving of its reputation, and I would unequivocally choose to stay here again on future visits to Ubud.

Booked in today and I'm disappointed. Location is good. Room small and tired. Lamps not safe I got help to find out how to turn off. Flickers on switch. Elected to turn off permanently rather than deal with them or get electrocuted! Asked how to close blinds as roo. Hot from sun told they were at Max closure. No broken. They are just wooden slat blinds you don't have to be smart to know not working. Air Co. Not really working room not cooling down. TV small with only a couple if English channels so limited in room entertainment. I understand being green but you have to get a water bottle to then refill in corridor. I don't bring a water bottle on holidays so now have to buy plastic bottle to get water. I'm really disappointed thus hotel sells itself too high I would rate 3 star.

OH MY GOSH!!! We both love this hotel!!! This was the first time i stayed in Ubud area because i was looking for a 2 days retreat, no shopping, no going out. Just stayed in the hotel to relax. I booked the Alaya room and was satisfied with my choice and the help of the reservation department so that i was given the paddy field view. The only minus was the air conditioning was not as cold as expected, i supposed it needs some service. But that was just very minor that i didn't make any complaint. The bed was sooo oohh comfortable, but the pillows were a bit bulky and thick. The balcony was friendly to us. Since we webt there when it was the last week of liw season, we got a really nice quiet, and minimal guests in the hotel area. My room was in building 1 and it was excellent!! All staffs were wonderful, very helpful and very polite. I couldn't say more to express my satisfactions and gratitutes to all of you, but i can only let you know that the next time i m coming to stay in Ubud, ALAYA will be my number 1 choice!!

This is a nice small hotel just a few meters from the entrance to the Sacred Monkey Forest. The rooms are big enough with comfortable beds and a decent bathroom. It has a nice pool. Lots of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Monkeys visit the property in the mornings and will take anything you leave outside but we enjoyed the experience, sitting on the balcony having a cup of tea while they sat next to us on the balcony railings. The only negatives were that the TV had no reception because there wasn't an aerial plug, just a wire pushed into the aerial socket. WiFi is awful. The balcony was not private, shared with one other room but with a good distance between seating. The sliding doors have huge gaps at the top allowing lizards to enter the room. We had two fairly large ones in our room (approx 30cm long with tail) which we actually wouldn't mind but they were making really loud cuckoo like sounds and it was impossible le to sleep. We managed to usher them out of the room in the middle of the night but they just came straight back. We ended up shoving towels in the gaps to keep them out but had virtually no sleep because of it. This could be easily fixed with a well positioned ***** of wood. If you accept these issues, which we did, it will be a nice place to stay, when they fix the gaps over the sliding doors.

I am so happy with this whole place. We were having our doubts about staying in Ubud when we arrived, but this inn is so lovely, and the people so accommodating. Once you get past the front desk, it's as if the street, with all the people and noise have just disappeared. I've made some non-traditional requests and they don't bat an eye and do what they can to make it so (doing just a market tour, no cooking class). The food (organic veggies grown in a garden in site of our balcony) is lovely. The room is great, but our balcony is spectacular. Pools seem nice and well maintained, the rooftop one has great views, the ground one is peaceful. Picked us up in an EV. Don't seem to have a spa on site right now but made arrangements down the street for me - about an 8-10 min perilous walk (there was the offer of a ride but I wanted to walk). As we just don't need to buy anything, we've chosen to sit on our balcony and veg (been working in Asia for 5 weeks, so...) (except I might go out and buy a bottle of Arak). So if you're going to make Ubud your base for a few days, this would be a great place to stay. For a splurge, I'd stay at a villa. Too rich for my blood, but... they sure are beautiful places.

the staff are extremely helpful. they cater our needs even in the midnight. the cons: this hotel doesnt have fridge hence we keep asking the staff to keep our food in their kitchen and asked to bring cold water, no water kettle and water in the room. we stayed 6 nights in 2 different rooms. both are comfy. but the bungalow doesnt have closet / hanger to keep our clothes. not many choices for the breakfast. but overall it was a good stay.
