Maya Ubud Resort & Spa

Ubud Bali|0.41km from Ubud Obat Spa
Maya Ubud is by far one of the best resorts in which I have had the privilege to stay! As a solo female traveller. expect superior service, 100% safety and security, luxury and serenity in a setting that is unique and truly special. The resort is set in 18 hectares (that's what someone told me) of forest, greenery and gardens -- including its own rice field and garden that serves the restaurant, a river and dense forest. The views around the property are spectacular. The restaurant is fantastic with local Balinese theatre and dancing entertainment. I shout out to host Darma who kept my Riesling glass full! All the staff are not only VERY knowledgeable, they will do everything to make you happy. Well worth booking taxis and tours through them. The rooms are huge: I had a an exceptional double and upgraded to a Villa with a pool on my last three days -- 200% worth it! (I was in room 708 overlooking the rice fields) The infinity pool overhanging the river is for adults only. It is centred in the middle of the forest and gardens (Note: only two of the beds get full sun all day) and it is well serviced for drinks and food as one of the restaurants is right above it. GEtting into Ubud town is easy: there's a daily shuttle for guest every hour from 9am to 5pm. And the hotel has its own taxis so it is very safe and easy for the solo female traveler. And now the Spa, THE SPA! You must book 2 hours in the spa and make sure you end it with the signature bath overlooking the river -- the experience is sublime and exceptionally beautiful it leaves you calm, relaxed and feeling special. Overall, Maya Ubud should be part of your visit. Highly recommended

For the one-bedroom villa (with private pool) that I stayed in this time, the following opinions only represent my personal experience: Let me first say that I personally find it very uncomfortable to save everyone’s data. environment: - The location of the hotel has only one lane to drive in and out, and it is in a deep alley. - On the first day of my stay, the swimming pool that I had been dreaming about was not cleaned! It looked so green at first glance that I couldn't get into the water at all on the day I checked in (Picture 1). Fortunately, the hotel had a good attitude and immediately arranged for cleaning of the swimming pool (Picture 2, Picture 3). - You can hear roosters crowing and dogs barking at three o'clock in the morning, and the main theme is a ”pastoral style” - When the sun rises during the day, a lot of sunlight will penetrate through the glass on the side of the hotel. Friends who like to rest in a dark environment should pay attention! It's basically bright when the sun comes out. Now let’s talk about the ok part Hygiene: The hotel staff is very serious about cleaning and cleans up every day. Service: Standard Indonesian smile service, good attitude Facilities: Average. Please pay special attention to the fact that the bathing facilities in the one-bedroom villa are outdoors (covered). There are more mosquitoes at night. The temperature difference when entering the room after taking a bath is relatively large.

We had a great stay! The staff were super gentle, the hotel owner, Adi, was super hospitality and welcoming, loved children and was super patient in answering questions and teaching about the balina culture. She was always ready to get us a driver for our expensive trips cheaper than the outdoor packages. She helped us to buy a birthday cake from one of the children. If I had to make some constructive criticism: 1. The morning coffee panqueques could be less sweet. 2. The rooms could have a more balinish architecture and decoration style, pq they made the common areas and the perfectly built gardens, but the rooms are built and decorated in contemporary western style. 3. The access to the hotel by a very small street makes it difficult and scares some taxi drivers, but nothing that once you know where it is becomes a sparkling. There is a need to climb stairs, but most of the places in Bali are not accessible to people with wheelchairs.

Villa is good, so I considered to stay a bit longer. It’s a pity that you can’t book the villa straight at the reception. Only through what’s up or trip/booking com. So be sure, if you want to continue your staying- informing the staff in advance is not enough. They let me check out and let go to search for another hotel for 1 night. Even though I told them before I would like to continue staying in my room. Generally facilities are good: clean rooms, hot water in the bathroom, convenient location, quiet place 🙂

Me and some friends of mine booked the biggest villa and it was amazing! The staff is really friendly and helpful. We had a little tour, their dinner set up + food was awesome. I love their BBQ! They also offered us an authentic local cuisines for lunch. Duadari is really a perfect place for anyone who want to escape and get a full experience of Balinese vibes.

Spend an awful lot of time at the hotel because of sickness, and OH was I glad that we stayed here. They had the best bed of about 10 different hotels during our stay in Indonesia, and that really says a lot. Nice staff, quiet place and beautiful surroundings. Only negative/room for improvement I can mention, is that it is to easy for insects to come to the toilet because its connected with the little garden. They should also consider closing the small haps in the rooftop totally, so geckos cant get inside the room during night.
