Kebun Indah Ubud

Ubud Bali|0.02km from Umabali Traditional Spa
The peak experience of my month in Bali would be the time I spent in Ubud and I designated two weeks of my trip to this location renowned for art, self-actualisation, good karma and all things spiritual. My choice of Ubud hotel was therefore of the utmost importance in setting the mood for my Ubud Experience. I spent hours often deep into the night on my Go-To booking site – *********** – searching for the most perfect setting and location. I found it at KEBUN INDAH. This exquisite, boutique hideaway of only seven, tiered, villa rooms offered everything that I had dreamed of. As is my practice, I had already developed a pleasant online relationship with the staff at the hotel. This is one of the great things about the *********** set-up. There was a quick and caring response from Kebun Indah, reassuring me they had allocated me “my perfect room,” the villa nearest the pool. On arrival, a busy lunchtime, my driver had dropped me on a dusty, noisy road with, as usual, motor bikes roaring past in droves. My outsize suitcase was dragged down a snicket towards the hotel. “Oh dear!” I thought. “This does not look promising!” The snicket opened out into a lovely, floral, openair Reception area of intimate size. I was given a welcome drink, a delicious cocktail of different fruits. I felt myself relaxing and unwinding, definitely feeling more “Om…”. I was greeted by Joss, one of the lovely Receptionists with whom I was to have delightful exchanges during my stay. Soon I was ready for that Special Moment; being shown to my room. I was conducted down through a gorgeous, verdant and floral garden passing beautiful terraced villas on the way. I suppose I dropped down three or four levels and the last terraced villa was…mine! It was utterly, dreamily perfect. It was the only one at that level so lots of privacy. In front of it, a few steps down, was the small L-shaped pool. I looked forward to dawn and starlit dips. My room faced an amphitheatre of palm trees and banana trees with bright, red tongues for flowers. Close by, under my bathroom window was a stone fish pond with seven goldfish and a gurgling fountain. My marbled terrace with chaise-longue was awesome. My room was in traditional Balinese style which was just what I wanted. No TV. During my stay I listened to gamelan and Tibetan Singing Bowls on YouTube. And just like that…I fell in love with Kebun Indah which I believe translates as “Beautiful Garden.” Every day Jati, a delightful, pretty and humorous lady, brought me an offering and laid it on my terrace. A little basket of flowers, fruit, rice and a burning incense stick. Every room received one. I got extra; prayers, giggles and chat with Jati. The air at Kebun Indah was redolent with beautiful scents and sounds. The dawn chorus around 6am was worth getting up for; chattering birds, cooing doves and later cicadas and geckos. But omg! The breakfast served on my terrace every day was decadent and delicious! Without doubt, one of th

The rooms are quite small and comfortable, they are directly available in a garden from which you can also access the common bathrooms. They also organize excursions, but we must be careful to agree with them, ours has not been well planned and we have to give up agreed goals. It is rather appropriate to make the classic excursions they always propose.

Stayed at the hotel for a week. The location is excellent. A bunch of restaurants, cafes, after 3 steps-Spa. There are pools (2 pcs). Excellent beds. The owner is very friendly. The rooms are decent for the price. Every morning there is a thermos on the table (they bring it at about 7 am), as well as coffee, tea, sugar. So morning coffee is guaranteed. The place is very quiet (but it depends on the guests:)). True, the side partitions between the rooms are thin and you will hear your neighbors as if they were on the next bed :). It didn’t bother us much, because. no one is in the room all day. Also keep in mind that WiFi is very slow and it is better to buy a card right there 3 steps to the left of the hotel. There are wonderful girls and they will advise what is needed, and they do not breed. The rooms are being cleaned, but if this is not the case, just let us know. Every evening I asked for a thermos, for evening tea drinking there were no problems. We are very pleased with the hotel and the location and the owners. Feel free to take it.

Deep thanks to the team for looking after us as best they could. They even organised roses at late notice. The location is one of the best in Ubud. Its outside the gourmet area. Best cuisines within a short walk. The resort in itself is amazing layout. They have looked after it well. Pro Location Layout and design and interior peaceful setting Staff friendly. Please note Bali service can be quite intrusive (always asking where you went and what you doing, when one is there over a long period it gets draining). Con room - we had the suite. There was a large komodo or a very big rat in attic. Its scary that they have not done enough pest control. This is not a jungle resort in that everything inside it man made and manned. Snake - we were hissed at by a snake in the field walking to the lobby. They really need to do better control of public safe spaces. The Assistant manager denied it but the team on duty confirmed to me there was a snake and they took it back to the lakes. It was likely my spirit guides talking to us 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Priest We did the melakut blessing prayer. The priest on duty was not the most honourable. He inappropriately touched my wife. I reported it to the manager and advice travellers even the holy man has desires. Be careful with your loved ones. Overall we had a great stayed but downed by awful incidents. I ranked the above incidents under cleanliness.

What a lovely place to stay in Ubud. Beautiful staff, super clean, loads of little touches (including international adaptors), pool was perfect, close to everything with amazing restaurants close by. Nothing was a problem, from getting our washing done, to lending us towels for a day trip, to changing room configurations immediately. We loved it and it made our holiday perfect. Thank you for making Ubud magical for us 🤍
