Hotels Near The Whisky Castle in Tomintoul

Unfortunately it is slightly misleading to say this hotel has a lift to the 1st & 2nd floor, there is a lift but it is only on level with a few rooms, the majority of rooms are along multiple corridors & required going up & down stairs. Even ”ground floor” single rooms are up a few stairs. Would advise against staying if you have mobility issues or phone to ensure you can book one of the few rooms on level with the lifts. I had to go all the down to reception report my TV not working, then had to do it again an hour later when nobody had been up to deal with it, The receptionist had to ask for my room number again, so guess the original note went missing. They did come up shortly afterwards and then had to go and find a replacement remote control as it was faulty. Had a decent breakfast & at least there was plenty left, unlike last time when half the hot plates were empty & even the staff moaned when they started helping themselves when guests were still eating. Nice enough hotel, but it is a rabbit warren of rooms & don't try to use the lift when coach parties arrive with loads of luggage, you'll have a long wait. Need to put up proper yellow health & safety warning signs on doors with a step behind them and also repair uneven floor areas.

I was a week over Silvester as part of a [Wander-]group here and had a wonderful stay at Nethybridge Hotel! The building is old, which gives the hotel a very ury touch and very moodfully fit to the landscape. The rooms are equipped with everything you need. I had a very comfortable double bed and was very in love with my small seat in the ark! I also liked the various light sources in the room very much, so it was also pleasant to read and stay in the room. Otherwise, as I said, everything you need: TV with British TV, oven, desk, closet, dark windows, shower and enough depot in the bathroom. Then there is the ”lounge” room for guests on the ground floor, with many couchs and comfortable earsets, a great cozy bar and always with an open fireplace - so great atmosphere! Then another beautiful restaurant with good breakfast buffet and a very fantastic dinner. A further mention is deserved by the very friendly and helpful staff of the hotel who have made the stay better again. A super experience around.

Temporary booking, old-fashioned country hotel, not bad

THANK YOU! We stayed in Aberlour and had several meals here - breakfasts and lunches with our labrador. They are very dog friendly and brought our dog treats, cuddles, water bowls and even a bed! The food is delicious and a huge menu. The portions are generous and everything seems really fresh. The kippers for breakfast were particularly delicious, and the ”blaggis bon bons” were inspired. We will absolutely be back! The staff were all friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, we were very grateful. Thank you.

Dear Operations Manager, I am writing to address the serious issue regarding the rooms allocated to us during our stay. Both of our families booked Classic Family Rooms for the same price, yet the rooms we were assigned—3140 and 3223—are drastically different in size and amenities. Room 3140, where our friends are staying, is substantially larger, featuring a super king-sized bed, two sofas, a large table, and ample walking space that easily accommodates three large suitcases. In contrast, our room, 3223, has a small double bed that barely fits two people, only one sofa, and a much smaller table. The room feels extremely cramped, with barely any space for even one large suitcase. When we brought this issue to the attention of your staff, they could clearly see the significant difference between the two rooms. However, they continued to insist that the difference was only ”slightly big.” One staff member even suggested that if we were unhappy, we should leave the hotel and find alternative accommodations. This response is wholly unacceptable, especially considering we traveled all the way from London and finding a last-minute hotel is highly impractical. Additionally, the phone in our room is not working, further adding to our inconvenience and frustration. We are very disappointed by the service we have received so far and hope that you can address this situation promptly to ensure our stay is more enjoyable. Totally not worth it for what we paid. The all-inclusive resort hotel is convenient for skiing, but the rooms are relatively old, the resort facilities are very good, and the service staff are busy and almost hard to contact
