An amazing hotel. Fairmont gold dining room / lounge is impressive. Great 33m indoor pool and fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and Bow river. from the hotel. This is a beautiful, classically styled, expensive and impressive resort. Self Parking is a 3 min walk to the hotel. Take a 10 min bus ride into Banff Ave. Bus tickets for guests are complimentary. Banff is a very picturesque town and well worth a visit. Banff avenue points directly at Cascade mountain for an amazing view every time you walk out to the street.

Stayed one night. Check in was fast. Room was renovated, looked like brand new, clean and big. Undergound parking. If you drive a high vehicle, then underground parking is not for you, max hight js 5'10”. The only thing we didn't like it, it is not very well soundproofed. We could hear when people on the second floor flashed the toilet... Woud i stay again or recomend to my friends? Definitely, YES.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights this past month. Our check-in process was very quick and efficient. The front desk staff were very friendly. We were fortunate to have a first floor room because the elevator was out of order. Our room was a good size and clean. They have a VERY interesting pool that is built like a cave and heated by hot springs. The water is pretty warm, so you might have to get out every now & then. A great way to relax after a long day hiking. It also is open through the roof so you can see out. Because we were often out early we were only able to do the Continental breakfast 1 day. It was nothing special, but it was free. We both ordered sides of bacon as an extra charge. NOTE: The hotel DOES have bear spray for complimentary use. This is important if you're planning to go out hiking. It's probably $40-50 to buy in town. This location is also a good walking distance to the main downtown area. There's also a local bus line that runs by if you don't want to walk or have to find a parking spot. Overall.....we had a great stay, would go back and would recommend

We returned last week from a 6 night stay at this hotel. We requested a large room with balcony and easy access to parking, since we are in our 80s. We also requested air conditioning, which not all of their rooms have. Kudos to Lily for helping us choose the perfect room for us. Our room was modern and spatious, with a kitchenette with microwave, stovetop, coffeemaker, and refrigerator. The large bathroom had loads of counter space and an extra large stall shower. There was a small table with two chairs for enjoying breakfasts in our room. Location of the hotel was also ideal for us. We were surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery - away from the noise and traffic in the heart of the city, although only a few minutes away from the fantastic restaurants in Banff. As others have mentioned, this hotel provides bus passes for travel to the downtown area, with bus stops virtually at the hotel doorstep, which we used daily. It only took a few minutes on the bus to get into the heart of the city, which is so much easier than driving through Banff and trying to find convenient parking. Highly recommended!!

FILTHY. Filthy, Filthy, Filthy. Rented a three bedroom chalet for our family of four with two toddlers. There was great appeal in the jungle gym and the waterslides, and separate bedrooms for all. This place is a dive. They have done zero routine maintenance in years and it shows. We have blankets on the couch it is so stained. I spent an hour washing down the kitchen, bathtub, bathroom, etc. While wiping the sink countertop under the mirror the white towel came back filthy. There were crumbs on the counters and dirt on the floor. I called the front desk three separate times within our first hour there. No coffee. No lightbulb in the bedroom. Not even burnt out, missing. A gift bag and piece of a retainer found on the far side of the downstairs bedroom. Burnt out lights in kitchen, bathroom, stairway. No stairway railing, treacherous for young children. Deck not shovelled off so no way to enjoy it. Front door doesn't seal. Bathtub plug won't hold water. One coat hanger for a chalet that sleeps six. Assigned parking space not fully shovelled, post-holing getting kids out of car seats. It's so disappointing to pay $600 for two nights and feeling so dirty you don't want to touch anything. So please take this review as written by someone who doesn't care about fancy, rather someone who cares about cleanliness and comfort. We will never be returning here. ***UPDATE: After our first night stay I pulled back the blankets in my toddlers room and there were MENS SOCKS made up in the end of the bed. We aren't staying the second night. The SHEETS were clearly NOT even CHANGED, they were REMADE from the previous guests. My skin is crawling. As requested, our stay is being refunded in full.

We were a little worried about staying at Hidden Ridge because of some of the negative reviews but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Four of us (two couples) stayed for 5 nights in a Premier 2 Bedroom Loft Condo (with 4 Queens). The condo was spacious for 4 adults, clean, bright and airy, and very comfortable. The two bedrooms on the lower level were on the small side but had comfortable beds (Queen bed in each). There is also a loft above the main level with two Queen beds that overlooks the living area and kitchen on the main level. There were two good sized bathrooms, one on the lower level between the bedrooms and the other one upstairs on the main level (the upstairs bathroom even included a washer/dryer which was very convenient!). The kitchen was well-stocked and Wi fi worked great. Our condo included a wood-burning fireplace in the living area. One of the highlights of Hidden Ridge is the outdoor hot tub and heated pool that has gorgeous views of the Rocky Mountains! There is comfortable outdoor seating and firepits. We enjoyed the hot tub/pool on several evenings during our stay and, IMO, is a must visit. There are fresh towels available near the hot tub/pool. There is also a sauna right next to the hot tub/pool area. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us free bus passes when we arrived. Hidden Ridge is located about a mile from Banff village in a quiet, secluded wooded area. You will need to drive, walk or take the bus into Banff village for restaurants, markets, etc. since there is not much near Hidden Ridge. Be aware that if you drive your car into Banff village, you will need to pay for parking (about $3/hour) since there is no free parking that we could find. We would definitely return to Hidden Ridge Resort!

After reading decent reviews I booked three nights in high season for my family. The water slide and pool plus included breakfast were contributing factors for sure. Upon arrival we were kindly greeted and despite being an hour early for check in, got a room right away. The kids were offered a large freezie then too. The standard two Queen room on the main floor was clean and had a laminate floor which was wonderful. No worries about what might have been in the carpet!! Other than some dusty bathroom and bedroom corners, and a deck that needed a sweep(we were ground level so had a cement enclosure- kind of prison like) that had leaves and such needing swept up, the cleanliness was good. Our bathroom fan didn’t work and so the bathroom got very hot and foggy when anyone showered. Kids had fun at the pool but I didn’t feel confident in the cleanliness- three huge hair balls on the deck that were there two days in a row. Eww. Breakfast was always the same - eggs scrambled, meat (bacon or sausage), waffles, and hash browns as well as yogurt, cereal, fruit salad and various toaster items. I was very surprised to see bacon! That doesn’t typically happen where breakfast is included. Breakfast area was well tended to, clean and you never had to wait long for a refill on anything. There was iced tea in the lobby each day and in the afternoon fresh baked, individually wrapped chocolate chip cookies (so good). This was also a pleasant surprise. The room had a lovely little gas fireplace and plenty of space for a family needing space for a playpen or cot. The AC unit worked great which was necessary as every day was 30+! Watch prices- our initial trip dates fell through and the hotel offered a touch cheaper than Expedia, but the week later I rescheduled Expedia saved us $50. High season was nearly $400/night which was ghastly but last minute vacation plans in high season and not being anywhere for three years due to covid… we went for it!

This hotel is budget friendly. Some points I would like to highlight are: 1. Clean bed but the pillows are not the best ( we had to sleep without the pillows) 2. The bathroom was super clean 3. The patio is shared with few other rooms but the mountain views are fab!! 4. The whole process of check-in and check out is virtual and seamless. 5. There is 1 parking stall for each room. Overall a wonderful stay and I highly recommend it

blackstone is a very comfortable hotel. It has an indoor heated swimming pool and two warm Jacuzzis perfect for winter use. I especially like to take a bath in the outdoor massage pool because the surrounding mountain scenery is very beautiful, especially when it snows outside, it is a great pleasure to watch the snow scene in the massage pool. The hotel rooms are clean and well appointed, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly. If you want to have a relaxing and pleasant vacation in the cold winter, I highly recommend blackstone mountain lodge, it will give you extraordinary enjoyment. The facilities and services here are very comfortable.

GGuest UserThis motel was great and affordable. It is only 15 mins walk to Banff downtown. There is a Gas station and A&W in front. Which is great! One morning we bought breakfast there and ate in our rooms. Our room itself was pretty clean. It seems like they newly renovated it. So it look pretty new. I love how they were lights underneath the beds. And the lights could be dim. The check in was superb, it was all done in the app. So no need to check in or check out in person. I would stay at this motel again. It was such a great experience ! Oh also if you have rooms on the first floor you can easily park your car in front of your room which we loved. Lastly, whatever you see on the pictures is what the rooms actually look like in real life.

GGuest UserSuper cozy and comfy hotel. Stayed here with my partner in July, where we went for a hiking vacay in Banff. The room was a good size, and I loved the private double-tub after a long hike! The pool area was okay, could have been cleaner, but okay facilities. A special shout out to our receptionist, a great young woman (didn’t get her name) who offered brilliant hiking recommendations and was generally just super cool and helpful! The complimentary roam pass offered by the hotel was great for transportation, but a good to know is that it does only covers local routes, thus not routes to Lake Louise or Johnston Canyon (these must be bought separately). Thanks for a great stay :-)

GGuest UserMy husband and I stayed at this hotel in October 2022. We found the front office staff very friendly and able to answer all our questions. It was nice having coffee, tea, and infused water available in the front lobby at all times. The rooms were well decorated and clean. Our room had a microwave, mini fridge and a Keurig with pods and cups. Very convenient. We also had a great view of the mountains from our room on the third floor...with a balcony, two seats and a table that we used often. The odd number rooms are located in the front of the hotel with a view of the mountains. Rooms with even numbers are in the back and overlook a courtyard and other buildings. Parking was convenient and easy to access. The only drawback was the breakfast included with our stay. We ate in the breakfast area 5 times and every time we ate we ended up with syrup on our arms or clothes from the previous diner. We never saw the tables being wiped down at all. The food was okay. Basically the same thing every day. This hotel is within walking distance of a grocery store and all the shops and restaurants down the main street (Banff Avenue) and the side streets I would have rated this a hotel 4.5 if I had the option. I would stay there again and would definitely recommend it.

GGuest UserThis review is long overdue and refers to stays in March 2016 & March 2017. For 3-night stays it suited us perfectly. If the hotel advertised itself as a ski lodge with old world charm and great staff – like, really great staff, we’d give it 5/5 because that’s exactly what it is and sets the expectations appropriately. However, we’re reviewing this hotel based on the way it is advertised: as a “luxury lodge” with “elegant rooms” for a “romantic escape” and as a 4-star “boutique hotel”. Each one of these words translates to something it’s just not quite. Given the descriptors (and the cost - at about $215 per night for a king bed) we expect a little more as far as rooms go. In reality the rooms were somewhat dated, but clean and served the purpose. The ventilation (heater) was noisy and the in room safe did not work properly. Hotel’s best offerings: 1. Staff (they were great – friendly and helpful); 2. Location & the shuttle pick up to Lake Louise and Sunshine (paid for as part of a ski package through the hotel and in addition to the room cost - was super convenient as it is right outside the front door); and 3. Breakfast (it was fantastic, though pricey). Tip regarding the shuttle: it’s about 20-30 minutes to Sunshine and about 45-60 minutes to Lake Louise. It’s one of the first few pick-ups, so not an issue getting a seat in the morning. But … when leaving the ski resorts and returning to the hotel, line up early as they can be crowded and might not be able to accommodate everyone, which means a long wait for the next bus. Overnight storage of skis is in the basement and works well. Equipment was not permitted in the rooms. Underground valet parking was nice. Hot tub is just ok (it’s in a basement and quite dark; alcohol is prohibited - though we managed to have a beverage or two). When we were there both the lounge and the dining room were pretty low-key (empty), so we went down the street for something a little more lively. It’s only a 15 minute walk to the main strip in Banff. Relatively short, but feels like a long walk if you hit a cold snap like we did. Bring a toque! Highly recommend The Block Kitchen and Bar for dinner (small sharing plates) and Tooloulous for breakfast. Arrive early or expect to wait in line at both. Overall a great time was had and we would consider it again if we return to Banff.

11100712453The hotel is on the hillside of Tunnel Mountain, a little distance from the town centre. There must be a car to travel, otherwise it is inconvenient. There is no air conditioning in the room, it is still a bit hot in summer, there should be no problem in winter, you can open a window, but you need to ponder for a while, very technical, screened, mosquitoes are estimated in the woods. When the hot pool was under maintenance, my daughter actually ran to the hotel next to it, saying there was a water playground and a slide. The most unexpected and most satisfying place is that when the scenery on the small gazebo behind the house is seen, three deer walked through the woods behind the house. It may be that the sun goes down to the nest and enjoys the wildlife in the eyes. Very lucky, it is estimated. It is also a kind of experience that is not too much.

GGuest UserWould probably stay here again; the new rooms do have a nice Mountain View and are very clean and modern. So many quirks though, of this place! Nothing really an issue (everything important, like soft bed, cleanliness, and courteous staff, was present), mostly just amusing: 1. No confirmation email sent; I got a confirmation number from the website, though. When I called to confirm it actually went through, it had. They gave me a second confirmation number over the phone (?) 2. Luggage cart is so poor that it’s substantially harder than taking several trips to carry the luggage; the wheels barely work 3. The elevator and main lobby are closed 11p to 7am for some reason, and you take stairs. It’s not clear what the status is on the doors involved in this process; some seem almost accidentally propped open. 4. Room layout and adornment was bizarro. Eg shooting for luxury appearance, but an odd metal side table that was basically a drum; it was in the way of the mini fridge; the mini fridge was in a cabinet that seemed to have room for a microwave also, but didn’t actually have one; the bathroom door didn’t lock; the bathroom door slid and was extremely difficult to close without making a huge banging noise; there was both a bathtub * and* a separate shower, which seemed like a waste of space. The TV stand had what looked like a sheet of granite glued to the countertop. 5. Only one washcloth was in the room, took several requests to finagle another from the front desk 6. No pen and paper to write notes 7. The fridge door was half falling off It was, however, overall nice with a Mountain View, and clean, it’s worth repeating, though.

JjenchannnI stayed at the HI Banff for just 2 nights, and got to experience 2 different ‘types’ of private rooms. I had initially booked online for a 4-6 female dorm (there weren’t any private rooms left on the third agent site when I had placed my booking), but when I asked to be switched to private upon arrival, I was fortunately offered the option to stay at a 6-person dorm - all by myself - for the first night, and then move over to a private log cabin for the second. Both were interesting experiences, and the room decor (especially with the electronic hearth in the log cabin) definitely made you feel like you were staying at a quasi-wilderness hostel. It was fun on the whole, despite the slight inconvenience of having to move between the two nights. Both the shared shower room and the private en suite shower/bathroom were clean and well-maintained, with decent water pressure and hot water supply, which are extremely important things to have when you’re visiting Banff in its subarctic state...! I didn’t use the kitchen or patron the hostel’s restaurant (called Cougar Pete’s), so unfortunately can’t comment on those aspects. I will say, however, that the only downside of this hostel would be its relative distance from downtown Banff (i.e. the centre of Banff Avenue where all the shops and restaurants are located) - it takes a good 20-min uphill walk from Banff Avenue up to Tunnel Mountain Rd where the hostel is located, and for any season that isn’t late spring, summer or early fall (okay, so winter is the biggest issue I guess), I don’t think you’d find walking for 20 plus minutes out in -10 degree Celsius conditions quite the idea of a pleasant stroll, especially after dinner when it’s dark and bitterly cold, lol. There’s of course the option to take public transport (the Roam transit bus), with Bus No. 2 stopping at Douglas Fir station (the hotel right next to HI Banff), but bear in mind this is a bus that comes at 25-minute intervals. So, not the most convenient arrangement, and something to be aware of when planning your itinerary. Overall though, I really enjoyed staying at the HI Banff, and found it a rather lovely experience as a first-time visitor to Banff. On a side but related note, I’ve rarely been let down by the HI chain, and I’ve stayed at more than 7 HI hostels by now...

GGENOld hotel, the entire Banff hotel has years, and summer is very cold, which is equivalent to the feeling of Beijing in late autumn. The town is very small, just one street, there is a supermarket in the middle of the street, and there are gas stations at the head and tail. You can directly go to the Canadian tanker Swap domestic credit cards, the United States cannot. Walk about 40 minutes from beginning to end. There is no extra bed in the room, there is a small balcony, enough to put a chair, there is a small swimming pool, hotel guests free parking, Banff from Vancouver to play, the reasonable route is, Vancouver-Lake Louise (Lake Lake Side Hotel) --JASPE (If you want to see a bear on the road, you must go on the road before 6 o'clock, the glass road is not interesting, you can take a look at the glacier. It is best to live in Jasper for two or three days, you can see the aurora with good luck. The beach on the road is actually by the lake.
