Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit

Sukhumvit Bangkok|0.11km from Korea Town (Sukhumvit Plaza)
I'm very saddened to say this once great hotel is declining very fast. This was my top choice prior to Covid and I always stayed in a club millesime room. But I'm giving up after this stay, After 1 night into a 3 night stay with 3 club millesime rooms, I made up my mind You should get what you pay for but here you do not any more and I'm saddened about it. In no particular order: 1) Lounge service has declined massively. Took 10 minutes for someone to come to get my drinks order for afternoon tea. 2) Cocktail selection is now limited to 5 or 6 cocktails when previously they would make any cocktail you wished from the bar on the floor. All I like is a Bloody Mary, and it's almost impossible to get one here now. Food selection is poor in the lounge too. Jam Sandwiches? Come on! 3) Previously the pool had a bar by the entrance with water and snacks. Now it's gone! It was there 2 years ago. The empty bar serves as a reminder of what was there. A pool attendant did give ice cold water to guests by the pool but for some reason did not offer to me. When I saw him ignore me for the third time, he was very apolgetic and immediately gave me an iced water and then and Orange Juice, at no charge. They should promote hm to become the hotel manager! 4) Went out all day, back at 4 pm - room not cleaned, and NO, do not disturb was not switched on. The other.2 rooms in our booking were all cleaned during breakfast time. How could they miss out my room? 5) The rooms have iPad control now. You can't do anything without it. I was shown how to use it but my guests in the other two rooms were not. No-one escorted them to their rooms either which I never saw here before. 6) When I did order drink in the lounge, it took 30 minutes to arrive. And that's if you are lucky enough to be asked, This is a quick list of shortcomings during the first 24 hour of this stay In all my years of traveling the Globe (I am also in the travel business) I have never seen a great hotel decline as fast as this one. Do yourself a favour. There are much better choices for your money in Bangkok. My recommendation is to stay at the Conrad, that has a great lounge and attentive staff and also a very well equipped Gym. Accor should fire the manager of the Sofitel Bangkok. He’s doing such a bad job and is ruining a great hotel. He asked to have a chat with me, 20 minutes before I checked out. I consider that to be so spineless. I raised my sadness about the hotel within 4-5 hours of arriving - Hh had 3 days to talk to me and try to turn an unhappy customer into a happy one. Seriously if he worked in my company he would no longer be employed. You have one chance to make a good impression and to try to turn around a negative experience into a good one, just before we were leaving makes no sense. Forget Accor, I'll be switching. to IHG as my favoured brand alongside Marriott. It give me no happiness to write this review because I did LOVE that hotel.

Samala Hotel Bangkok

Sukhumvit Bangkok|0.37km from Korea Town (Sukhumvit Plaza)
This hotel is brand-new, and has immense potential. It's a shame that I have to write this negative review, but I'm hoping it can spur the hotel to do much better in several areas. We discovered this newly built hotel from a local friend and decided to book four nights during the festive season. Upon arrival, the check-in process took much longer than expected. This was in-part due to the poor command of English by most of the staff. We were assigned a room in Tower A and Tower B. Tower A rooms are much more convenient as the pool and gym are located on the same tower. The rooms itself were great, but there were many small issues which hampered the experience during our stay. For example, the shower drain drains water very slowly, resulting in an overflow everytime you take a shower. The water pressure itself was decent but they need to solve the drainage issues, because we had several different rooms during our stay and every room had the same problem. Other than that, the rooms were great. The power points have USB-A and USB-C inlets, so you don't need an adapter when staying at this hotel, a very thoughtful point. Next, the breakfast buffet was decent. Bangkok hotels are famous for their excellent breakfast buffets. I have stayed in countless hotels in Bangkok, and the benchmark continues to be Centara Grand at CentralWorld for breakfast. Samala's breakfast buffet had a variety of options. The great thing is that the dishes are different every day, so you'll never have a boring breakfast. The bad news is that in terms of taste, its not consistent. For example, there was one morning which had Hainanese Chicken Rice served, and I nearly vomited after tasting it. On another day, there was Green Curry Chicken served, and it was amazing. Speaking of breakfast, I want to highlight the excellent service by Mr. Tong, which I believe is the manager of the breakfast service. Mr. Tong was very attentive and checked-in on us to make sure everything was fine. Interestingly, he spoke much better English than half the front desk staff so perhaps he should be there instead! Last but not least, I want to provide some inputs about the service. It was very inconsistent. Most of the staff at the hotel were very friendly, particularly the concierge, which was amazing at making dining reservations and providing recommendations for lunch/dinner. The front desk staff were also very friendly, and I managed to have a good chat with the front desk manager on several occasions. She had a good command of English, together with a woman who appeared fierce but was very friendly, but the same can't be said for the rest of the staff. They had some of the worse English I have ever seen in any hotel. Bangkok is an international tourist destination, and if the front desk can't get English right, it's better they are moved to other parts of the hotel. Also, some of the staff are extremely stingy when it comes to bathroom amenities. We requested extra Body Wash on several occ

Ruamchitt Plaza Hotel

Sukhumvit Bangkok|0.09km from Korea Town (Sukhumvit Plaza)
Vielen Dank für den Aufenthalt khop khun khrap 🙏🏼 As always my speech: it is not a family hotel but for a single or couple what only 2-3 days in Bangkok remains, a cheap alternative. In front of the hotel in the evening there are many women who want to go to the club under the hotel. We were after our vacation again 2 days in Bangkok and save us this time the 5 star hotel from the beginning of the trip in Bangkok what had disappointed us very much (380€ 3 nights). The Ruamchitt I know from trips from earlier and it was always fine for a small price. Paid this time about 95€ for 2 nights and late check out (6pm) (Deluxe Room). Of course you can't expect too much but it's enough for an overnight stay. What urgently needs to be repaired or replaced: - Shower has no water pressure - Windows could use a little more insolation against the noise. - the pool was renovated but the sunbeds and cushions would have to be replaced urgently. - the shower at the pool is very battered, this could also be renewed. - there was only one bedside table in the room Otherwise, the hotel is great for this price and I would come again the 5th time :) The bar of the hotel in the lobby area has always been cool for a drink in between. Thanks for the stay khop khun khrap 🙏🏼

Asoke
I stayed alone and in conclusion, I was very satisfied. It seemed like it had been recently remodeled when I stayed there. The sign saying Sam's lodge hasn't been taken down yet. Good location for the price, quiet, and very clean. I was satisfied with everything except that there was no window and the toilet water pressure was weak. It felt like a clean Korean motel. It was nice to have a hair dryer as well. The air conditioner is cool and there is also a hair dryer. The towels were clean too. The floor was laid on a floor similar to that used in Korean apartments, and it was so clean that you would feel a little embarrassed if you went in with your shoes on. If I come back, I think I will stay again haha.

I lived here at that time. The first is because the geographical conditions are very good, and it is convenient to go anywhere. The second is that there is a very petty bourgeois night market next door. You can buy a beer and sit there and listen to music slowly. Wait till you get tired. Go back to rest, the air-conditioning in the room is very adequate

It was a bad experience staying in that hotel. The Wi-Fi never worked well and with very weak signals. In addition, during my third day stay, there was a breakdown of the electric supply and no air conditioning and lights at all ( luckily the lifts still in service). I will not recommend any visitors for this hotel.
