This hotel claims to have air conditioning. BEWARE: It does not! We arrived in mid April and it was unseasonably cool. The room was facing south with full sun against the window. My partner asked me to activate the aircon to cool the room and it blew warm air instead. When I asked the room maid for help she directed me to the front desk. When I rang the front desk they said that the temp is set for all rooms and I would not be able to change it. The rooms are climate controlled centrally and cannot be individually adjusted. So in winter, the temp is set to warm etc. This day was warm and activating the fan ( the only adjustment) blew warm air. When I asked the receptionist, she said ”OPEN A WINDOW” (!!!) Not what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. I insisted we be moved to a northern facing room which was much cooler, but this should have been offered first. The other receptionists were most helpful when dealing with requests or issues. The breakfast room staff were excellent and tried hard. We arrived early and we able to check in. One morning, the water was cut off ( due to street maintenance) and no water available for the entire hotel. The only notice was placed in the elevators, so if you used the stairs, you wouldn't know. Unprofessional! Bathroom had damaged tiles with sharp dangerous edges exposed. Hand sanitising stations were sometimes left empty. Overall, a disappointment, but sadly, this hotel could be much more if the management took notice of comments and fixed a few defects. It seems that they dont really care.

Pros: Great location; beautiful, clean modern rooms; great coffee, lovely appointed kitchen that guests may use. Cons: Lack of communication; no sound proofing between rooms & halls; AC didn't work. I would not stay here again & therefore would not recommend this hotel. I’m still baffled as to the high ratings on this website and other travel websites. I’ll be wary to go by ratings again for accommodations I find on this website and other popular travel websites. 1) When we arrived there was no one available to let us in. The reception is open only from 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Check in is at 3:00, no one was even available to leave luggage. It's extremely inconvenient. We wasted a lot of time the day of check-in. We sent multiple WhatsApp messages & could see that they had been received, but there were no responses even though I requested responses. A phone call ended in a hang up on their end. There was a sign on the door stating the hotel would be closed until after the day we had a reservation to check in. This was disconcerting (see photo). Someone should man the desk during normal business hours, 9-5. In speaking with other guests & even the hotel staff at another nearby accommodation, this is a frequent event. Other travelers there during our stay had a similar experience --- wasting a lot of time trying to check in or drop-off bags. 2) Temp control didn’t cool the room. The thermostats in the room don’t control the temperature in the rooms. We had left one of our keys, which work the outlets, plugged in the entire day. The room was still hot when we returned early evening. The owner suggested we leave the key in the outlet totally disregarding my comment that we had done exactly that — left one of the keys in the outlet all day. When we returned at midnight, the room was still hot & this was May. I cannot even imagine the inferno the room will be in the summer months. 3) There's minimal soundproofing. You can hear guests from other rooms and in the hallway.

We recently stayed at the Majestic Barcelona. It was everything that one would expect of a five star hotel. The location is great - walking distance from many of the city's best attractions and restaurants. It also has a great rooftop bar that overlooks the city. The fine dining restaurant at the hotel is also very good, and we had an excellent dinner there. We did, however, have a problem with one aspect of the hotel. They advertise tours which are described in great detail on the hotel website. The problem is that as of our visit the website had not been updated post-Covid and the description of the very expensive tour that we booked was inaccurate and we did not what was advertised. After a lot of arguing on our part, and after initial push back by the hotel's management, the finally made things right. All's well that ends well, but it did put a tinge on an otherwise wonderful stay.

The contactless check in instructions were clear and worked well except in the key locker we were given the wrong key to enter our apartment block! A bit of a hiccup and was hard to get help over the phone but after that point it all went smoothly. The apartment was clean, fresh, spacious and airy. had a balcony for every room and the beds were comfy for a group of 6 lads for our trip to Barcelona. Everything was clean and tidy and all cooking/cleaning equipment was provided. There wasnt an iron but we bought one and left it at the apartment so hopefully this is there for the next guests. The location is great, 1 block from casa battlo, and half way between the beach and la sagrada familia / park guell so it was quite central for travelling. Its only a 15-20 min taxi from the airport aswell. Turn left straight out the building and you are on las ramblas street and can walk up or down for all kind of restuarants and shops. I think some of the apartments in the block are residential and we crossed paths with them a few times and they were so lovely too, one of them helped us out when we had been given the wrong key and even let us borrow his while he went out! All in all a great stay in a great location would defo recommend.

The pillows were too low, the quilt was a thin sheet, told the front desk but they did not provide us with more pillows and quilts. Only two more thin orders were given. There is no luggage storage, only small boxes that are self-locking. Two euros at a time. But my 24-inch suitcase couldn't fit in. You can only go to the case or backpack. Next to the subway station. My wallet was stolen when I was ”lucky” when I came out of this station on the first day. The thief pretended to help our two girls carry suitcases. The front desk staff was completely unaware of the correct police station that opened at night and told us the wrong address. Not recommended

The location is very close to Plaza Catalunya, the bed is at least two small (viewing type), with two separate bathrooms. No parking. The only fly in the ointment is check in four kilometers away. No door card, the apartment can not enter
