Beijing Fengtai District 5-star Hotels

The hotel is in Fuhai Park, and is very close to the subway station on the central axis. There are two subway entrances. Staying at the New Qinghai Sheraton these two days, my biggest impression is the good service and new facilities. Especially jackzhu who checked me in. This is my second time staying here. I chose this place for New Year's Eve. Overall, it's pretty good. This time I chose a deluxe twin room on the seventh floor with a small balcony and bathtub. The balcony faces east but the sunlight will be blocked by the south building. The shower and toilet in the bathroom are separated from each other and the bathtub is large. The toiletries provided are in small bottles. You need to ask for cotton swabs and razors from the front desk. Four 350ml bottles of mineral water were given in the room, which was not enough to drink. Later, I explained it to the room lady, and she added six bottles. She suggested that it be better to change to larger bottles, which are also environmentally friendly. The gym has plenty of equipment, including treadmills and gantry racks, and you can also perform deadlifts, chest presses, and shoulder pulls. However, it’s too cold to wear fitness clothes directly in winter. The takeaway you ordered can only be left at the door. You have to go down and get it yourself, which is understandable. The breakfast buffet is on the first floor from 7 to 10 o'clock. There is nothing special about it, so it's pretty decent. Although the overall facilities are relatively old, the surrounding environment is quiet and the price is moderate. I will consider going there in the future.

We booked a room here during the Chinese New Year holiday. The price was right, the location was convenient, and the service was great. Manager Zhang at the lobby upgraded our room, gave us a check-in gift, welcome fruit, and was very considerate. He tried to help us solve any problems we had. I was very satisfied with my stay.

I heard from my colleagues that there is an Internet celebrity guest service manager in this hotel who made a special trip to experience it. As soon as I entered the lobby, I met the Internet celebrity manager Wang Nuo on duty. Not only did he upgrade the reserved room for free, he also delivered it all the way to the room. The location of the hotel is so closed to the MRT stat - 崇文门，the entrance/exit is just right in-front of the hotel! As it was off-peak season when we visited Beijing, we were upgraded to a Deluxe Suite, which mean there is a separate bedroom with a single bed, on top of a master room with a double bed. We really appreciate the kind act. While I was still at other part of China, I thought of ordering something online and use this hotel as the receiving end, I thought of just checking it out, and to my pleasant surprise, the hotel does provide such service and the staff helpfully guided me on how to do so. After I checked into the hotel and gotten the item I ordered, a few days later, but sadly the item didn't suit me, the hotel again provides the service of allowing the courier staff to go to the counter to collect back the return item. I was amazed by the extreme friendliness and helpfulness of the staff there. All in all, we really enjoyed the service extended to us! It is no doubt hotel staff in China places their guests at top priority, making them feel at home at all times.

Stay away! The saving grace came from Trip.com which enabled me to terminate our booking without penalty. Awful garbage smell in the room. We checked in at 1am due to late flight arrival. Upon entering the room we we’re concerned about a strange smell in the room. We thought it would go away so we just opened the window. It was late we decided we would ignore the smell but by 6.30 am we couldn’t ignore the foul smell anymore. So we wrote to trip.com to terminate our booking. By 9am we’re ready to check out. At the checkout counter the staff was gracious and friendly and she said our booking was terminated at our request. Just too many faults with this hotel room. Chair needs to be replaced. It easily toppled backwards. Toilet door can’t completely closed. Not sufficient electrical outlets to plug your devices. Curtains are dirty. No hooks in toilet. Only positive staff was friendly.

Location is EXCELLENT! It's just across the subway. And there are plenty of shopping malls and flagship stores for many international brands around. Super convenient with restaurants that serve super delicious local meals just next to the hotel. Staff is super attentive even in the middle of the night. Room bed and blankets are comfortable. Enough supply of bottles of water everyday. Free flow is Chinese tea and coffee at the lobby is definitely a big plus!! The only down side is the cigarette smoke at the corridor of the rooms.

The hotel's only good trait is that it's close to the forbidden city and Wangfuijing shopping district. We were checked into a totally different room than we booked. It was like getting cat fished by a hotel. The hotel is quite stingy with its amenities. Asked for bottled water at the reception, they said they're only selling. I asked them if I could get some free bottled water, but was told they'll send it to my room. I wasn't going back to my room for the bottled water to come as I was leaving. My friend asked for water from her room, they didn't agree to send some right away, but instead continued to ask if there wasn't any in her room. We were mostly unsatisfied with our stay as the room did not match at all with the pictures on the Trip app. The breakfast buffet wasn't that good, it didn't live up to its expensive cost. And the concierge basically scammed us of RMB 183 for a taxi ride to the airport from the hotel, we could see that it only amounted to RMB 65-70 to the airport from the cab's meter. It was also my friend's birthday, so I asked if the hotel offers any complimentary cakes and asked them to bring it at 6pm. They said okay, but nothing arrived at 6pm. So I called them again and they transferred me to 4 different people until someone finally understood basic English and told me that I should've asked for the cake earlier, which I did right after we checked in. The hotel's staff does not do well with communicating internally. Somehow I expected good service as it was a Novotel hotel, but was left highly disappointed.
