Melia Benidorm

Benidorm|0.98km from Aqualandia
Just on our last day out of 5, if your thinking of booking here thinking your going to get quality don’t bother, this hotel is getting seriously shabby having stayed here before 10years ago it’s gone seriously downhill since! PROS: Friendly Staff Kettle in room CONS: Dated miserable rooms flakey headboards, bad lighting, horrendously over priced mini bar, cleaning standards are poor, the hairdryer broke and the maintenance guy fetched another that should have screwed to the wall just plugged it in and expected me to use it with the wall incasing stuck to the wire, I went out and bought one. Pool area seriously dirty, the ground is never washed, toilets never have soap and rarely have toilet roll, drinks at the bar way overpriced, €9 for a smoothie and Diet Coke. Breakfast is horrific the layout makes no sense everyone bumping into each other, condiments at the beginning so everyone’s backing up, food is cold, Bacon is slimy, queue for coffee machine takes the mick, the cups are so small it’s gone in two mouthfuls, never any melon or fresh tomatoes just tinned fruit, I went out and bought my own things to take down and just had the toast. We got bitten quite badly too in the day which was strange as we’ve never been bitten in Spain before, think it’s the grubbiness of the hotel there were loads of stale water puddles around the pool area. The gym is the very worst hotel gym I have used there are 2 bikes and 2 cross trainers none of them work, just there for show hardly any matching weights either and god knows the last time it was cleaned, it’s like the forgotten room. This hotel is in serious need of renovation, it should now way be given 4 star status a 3 and a poor 3 at that

Hotel Gala Placidia

Just got back after 10 days at the gala placidia with my wife and 3 teenage kids (17,16,14) and one 12 year old. We aren't the type to nit pick at all so here is our opinion. The hotel rooms are basic but are spotlessly clean, we had 2 rooms with 3 people In each which consisted of 2 single beds and a full size camp bed which were all comfortable and served their purpose. The balconies all overlook the top pool (kid pool). The bathrooms are simple but yet again clean and functional with a hairdryer but they aren't the most powerful so if you normally use one I would advise taking your own, the bedrooms have air conditioning which is absolutely fantastic and a god send when it is mid 30s as it was last week. The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels daily of you leave them on the bathroom floor. The food at meal times is varied enough with fruit, cereal, full fry ups, omelettes for breakfast. The snack bar is open at 11am til 1pm them 5pm til 7pm where you can get toastys, hot dogs and burgers which are nice and I heard no complaints. Evening meals are varied and have different themes such as Italian, Mexican (they have a Mexican singer on who is great), Asian which is good. There is always plenty to go at even if kids are fussy... on a Friday night they have a massive bbq outside by the main pool which is fantastic...I have never seen so much food in my life and it was all lovely from chicken kebabs, tomato sausages, burgers, lots of salads and fish, then chocolate fountains and marshmallows for the kids... The main pool opens at 10am til 7pm, we never had a mad rush for sunbeds so dont expect to be charging for them because it doesn't happen there at all, we came down at 11 some days and still had sunbeds available which are in the sun nearly all day there as the pool isn't overlooked so if you like a bit if shade later on get a brolley which there are plenty of. The bar at the pool is open 10am til midnight. As all inclusive I can get as much as you want when you want, from cocktails, beers, coffee, ice lollies etc...the main barman is called Darryl and is a brilliant bloke, he wil go out of his way to make sure you have a good time and get what you want, he speaks 7 languages so if English isn't your 1st language he wil have you covered, he is a massive credit to this hotel as I'm sure you will agree if you go... Entertainment is ok varying from water polo, darts, killer pool, rifle shooting ate but is geared towards older kids and not younger so be aware of that. Evening entertainment is OK but is geared alot towards the Spanish holidaymaker we felt so we went out quite a few Evenings and went to tribute acts and bars etc. If you are going to aqualandia a family ticket of 4 is €110 and you catch the number one bus from the bottom of the road...bus tickets are €1.60 per person. We'll worth a visit but I would take your own food as its expensive inside. All in all we ahead a lovely time, met some great people and would definitely go back ag

Great get away but be aware of the hill!! Arrived at around 1pm and went into reception which was closed and no one to be seen! There were a bunch of kids there so we couldn't see any signs of what to do! Eventually I saw a sign that said you have to check in at the other hotel around the corner. Not ideal after being up and travelling all morning. Checked into the hotel and given a key - Allocated a 1st floor room which was ideal as we both don't like heights - and this is a very high block with I think 36 floors!! Room was perfect, dishwasher and washing machine with comfortable beds and very clean. Really liked the room to be fair. Huge balcony too overlooking the small pool. Location though for us was not good. It sits at the top of a hill, a very high hill. Walking from the town was a killer on our legs and carrying shopping was awful. A taxi was about 5euros and worth it... We were only there for 3 nights and as mentioned the place and room was lovely but not that hill!!

We booked this hotel for 23rd December for a week full board . The food was lovley. restaurant area was very clean... clean fresh towels most days . Staff were very helpful and friendly . Xmas Dinner was really nice and free wine to go with it. The hotel was lovley and clean. We so enjoyed our stay. Only bad point was the bed was hard. But you can't please everyone with regards to beds. What a great week we spent here. 20 mins from the beach. And dead opposite benidorm Palace. I will definatly be back.

First of all, the staff is very friendly, they are at your disposal and they are really fast. It has good facilities although the way they are distributed is a bit strange. Now, for the quality-price ratio and being a 4-star hotel, it leaves a lot to be desired, the rooms are not cleaned well, and it is not that we left the room dirty, but at first glance you can see that they have not cleaned it, especially the bathroom. Guests ran and screamed through the hallways, making it difficult to take a nap or go to sleep directly. The location is good, close to the east. If it had been impeccable it would be about 4 stars but for me it's not worth it.

The hotel was great .. i was all inclusive .. in a double room .. the food was really nice .. good selection for breakfast lunch and dinner .. could be a bit more fruit .. entertainment wasnt as good as last time but it is understandable as not so many guests The staff were brilliant , very helpful and friendly , the entertainment team were excellent ! The room was very spacious , clean and warm , kettle supplied with selection of tea and coffee , uk tv and nice balcony . The price was good for 2 people but i was on my own and did not get a discount .. it would have been brilliant if there was a single person discount
