A belated review due to the Trip Advisor rule of only one review per hotel, per 3 months. We were desperately unhappy with the hotel response to our original review, and in order to have a right of reply, I had to delete the original review and wait at least three months before making a new submission. To be clear, it was our opinion that the hotel was immaculately clean and the food was exceptional. To be honest, most things were very good. So what was the big problem ??? The Hotel was nearly full, but they were advertising availability for a "DREAM SEA VIEW ROOM". It was incredibly expensive and the most we have ever paid for a hotel room. Unfortunately what we reasonably expected, and what we actually got, were two very different things. The room was very very basic and despite being on the 18th floor, is was almost impossible to see any of the beaches, although bits of the sea could be seen. We were very annoyed to learn that there were other rooms on that floor that would have justified the label given to our room. The truth is there were many cheaper rooms, even on lower floors, that have much nicer views (we have stayed in them previously !!). All this is bad enough, but the hotel response to my review was disgraceful. Somehow it was us that had done something wrong and had no reason to be complaining. In not so many words, it was suggested that it was our own fault for booking that particular class of room. The hotel went on to say, that If we really wanted a proper Dream Seaview Room room, we should of paid even more and asked for a DELUX DREAM SEAVIEW ROOM. The hotel response was obviously for public consumption, rather that a considered reply to a very genuine concern. I would ask any reasonable reader that given the huge price and a promise of a DREAM SEA VIEA VIEW ROOM, what would they have reasonably expected ?? I am quite happy to resubmit the review and download the booking paperwork, invoice and photos, should the hotel wish to dispute the above.
