I recently stayed at Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan, and it was a truly remarkable experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff’s warm hospitality made me feel welcomed and relaxed. The ryokan is set in a beautiful, serene location, surrounded by nature, offering a peaceful retreat from daily life. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated in traditional Japanese style, blending modern comforts with authentic charm. The private onsen attached to my room was a highlight, allowing me to unwind in soothing hot springs while taking in the picturesque views. What truly sets Kannawaen apart is the attention to detail and personalized service. The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel truly cared for throughout my stay. If you’re looking for a luxurious, tranquil getaway with impeccable service and a true Japanese experience, I highly recommend Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan. It’s a place we would love to visit again. The room with the onsen was convenient and offered a great experience. It was spacious enough for three adults with large suitcases, and the futon was very comfortable. Dinner was excellent as well. A wonderful place to stay! The staff was amazing, reaching out a week before our check-in to ask about our group and dinner preferences. We were so happy with our stay. Thank you, Sanso Kannawaen, for taking such great care of us!

We booked the Sora western room type, which was described as having two double beds and three futon beds. However, upon arrival, I didn't see any futon beds in the room nor were they offered. In terms of service, I expected a better introduction to the rooms given the price I am paying. We received a very simple introduction to the common area, but didn't get a room tour showing where things are located, which Yukata to wear indoors and outdoors, etc. I've paid a similar price for another onsen hotel where we received a much better reception upon arrival. We did ask for breakfast in the room for more privacy, and while we were able to do that for half the price at other hotels in Fukuoka, the staff didn't seem to understand when we asked about it. Overall, the amenities and room are really good, but service-wise, it's hit or miss.

Booked the room with private onsen, really a great experience! The tepenyaki dinner is really great. Staff is very helpful! But beware of the mosquitoes from the outdoors.

Beautiful place to stay when you plan to spend some days in the hot spring capital….go for a room with indoor bath, so you can enjoy the healthy hot spring water whenever you like in the privacy of your room. We had teppanyaki for dinner twice, excellent food accompanied by an extensive wine list. Service is great, all staff very helpful and kind.

I regret only staying for one night The hot spring water was amazing I thought I should use the large bath because there was a private hot spring, but my daughter said I should go since I came all the way here so I wouldn't regret it, so we went to the large bath. Wow~ The view was spectacular. I almost regretted not going. ㅋ It was an unforgettable family trip It was a trip to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday, and it was a trip and accommodation that everyone was satisfied with without any regrets.

The environment and facilities are exquisite. The location is convenient, with the sea hell on the right hand side of the gate, the stove hell on the left hand side, the ghost house hell, the white pond hell, etc.

The hotel is quite big, and it can be seen that it is an old hot spring hotel. I stayed in the Chukan, which overlooks Beppu on the mountain. The room is also very large, with an indoor pool. The public hot spring is average, with one indoor pool and one outdoor pool. The scenery is average. The teppanyaki included in the dinner is OK. The breakfast is quite rich. Free pick-up to the JR station.

The hotel provides free shuttle service to Beppu Station. The service is very good. The hotel is clean and tidy. The teppanyaki for dinner tastes very good! There are Japanese and Western breakfast options. We chose Western breakfast and the quality is good. It is very close to Jigoku Onsen and can be reached on foot. The facilities in the room are Japanese style, but they are relatively old. The disadvantage is that the latest time for breakfast is 9 o'clock, which is too early. I originally came to relax and take a hot spring bath, but I had to get up early to eat breakfast. If I was late, they would call you to urge you to eat, which is really painful.
