The hotel is situated 15 minutes taxi ride from the Beppu station. So we have nowhere to go that night. But it's good enough to have hotspring and drinks in the hotel. The staff is very polite and can explain what you can do in English. Then you were lead to the room and tips rejected. We booked the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. The dinner time is either 6pm or 6:30pm and the breakfast time 8am or 8:30. The dinner is good but maybe my expectation is quite high, it didn't reach my expectation, especially for the sashimi. For the onsen, there are 4 private onsens and 2 public. One of the private onsens is closed. Therefore we can use 3. You can use the private onsen when it is not occupied. Just lock the door and turn the plate to the other side. But all the onsen are closed by 12 midnight. And there is a room with free flow beer and soda, but it closes at 10pm. Don't drink beer before taking hotspring. There is also an onsen in our room which can be used anytime. It's hot at night but not so hot in the next morning. Overall, the view is good. The staff is good. The food is good (just not so great) and the onsens are good. Beppu is a good place to stay a few days more

There is a free snacks & drinks bar for guest, thats is very thoughtful. The hotel is good for taking photos.

It was a very nice trip. The staff were very good with good service. And the food quantity was big, donno why some comment said they were not full. 😝 I have a very good memory there. Just one thing if there are more individual hot spring room will be perfect ^^ Definitely will go again

The hotel is managed in Japanese style, the service is very good, the staff are very enthusiastic and the arrangements are very considerate. The pick-up and drop-off are very good, making people feel at home. There are many hot springs in the hotel, all of which are very distinctive and comfortable. The ingredients used for breakfast, dinner and dinner are exquisitely made and very delicious. The service staff has waiters who can speak Chinese, which I like very much. One of the very high quality hot spring hotels I have stayed in in recent years. I like traditional Japanese-style garden-style hotels. This hotel is on a mountain and should be the highest hotel in the area. You can overlook the bay from the room. If you get up early, you can watch the sunrise. There is a bathtub in the room. If you don't want to go to the public bathroom, it is very comfortable to soak in the room. There are also 4 private baths, which can be very romantic with your family. The meal arrangements are also very particular. They are all in private rooms, and dinner and breakfast will be arranged in the same room. The details are well grasped. There is also a lounge where all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are free. It is great to have a glass of whiskey after taking a bath before going to bed. Highly recommended!

Very nice hotel. The room we chose is relatively large, equivalent to a suite. The outer room is a tatami-mat Japanese-style living room, which can sleep more than one person. The inner room is a Western-style bedroom with twin beds, and the mattress is a bit soft. We have included breakfast and dinner, kaiseki dinner, and Japanese-style breakfast set meals. The variety of dishes is very rich; the service is also very good, three private soups, and there are not many guests at this time of our visit, so it is both early and late No need to wait in line. The inn was located on a steep slope with no shops nearby, so we needed a car to go out after arriving at the inn. [Ryotei Matsubaya] has two types of guest rooms: the old building [Oka no Sou], which has 10 standard rooms, and the new building [Tsuki no Sou], which has 8 guest rooms. The new building [Tsuki no Sou] has three types of guest rooms, [Stylish Modern], [Japanese Modern], and [Maisonette], which are oriented towards a new ryokan style.The accommodation fee is slightly higher than the Japanese and Western style rooms [Oka no Sou]. It is set. This time, we stayed in the [Maisonette] type in the new building [Tsuki no Sou]. Prices vary slightly depending on the season, but the cost of accommodation this time was 48,000 yen per person, per night, including two meals. The maisonette-type guest room is 100 square meters in size, with a living room and Japanese-style room on the lower floor, and a daybed sofa next to the window. There are chairs on the balcony where you can relax while looking out over Beppu city. There is a twin bedroom on the upper floor, an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and honestly it was too big for two people to stay in. From the room and open-air bath, you can see Beppu city and the tourist attraction Global Tower right in front of you, and beyond that you can see Beppu Tower and Beppu Bay. The night view also looked beautiful. Apparently you can't see much of a view from [Oka no Sou]. The open-air bath on the upper floor can be accessed directly from the indoor bath, and is about the size of two tatami mats. It is installed on the balcony, but there is a partition to hide it, so you don't have to worry about it being seen from other places. In addition to the open-air baths in the rooms, there are five shared hot spring baths in Tsuki no Sou and Oka no Sou, all of which can be used free of charge without reservations. The hot springs were very pleasant to the touch, but the temperature of the hot springs was quite high, so I had to add water to cool them down before I could enter. The old building has also been renovated and renovated, so please choose the room that suits your taste. This inn is located halfway up a small mountain on the outskirts of Beppu city. The location is not suitable for going out at night, so we recommend it for those who want to finish sightseeing before checking in and spend the night relaxing at the inn. There are four private baths that guests can use freely without reservation. I was able to check how crowded the baths were by registering as a friend on LINE. Each bath was also large and nice. There weren't many items for dinner, but the amount of each item was small, so I felt like it wasn't enough overall.
