Stayed for a night not at the dormitory but a private Japanese style room. Room was very spacious and the only down point was that it was mid winter in January but the room was still rather cold even with the heater. The heater was only in the main room and the toilet/shower area was freaking cold. They do not have a bath tub, but a shower and toilet in the same space with only a shower curtain separating the shower stand and the other part of the toilet. Whole area can get very wet after a shower.. Parking isnt free, and you have to book in advance. There is a living room and onsen on the first floor but it was too cold and i was too lazy as our room was on the 3rd floor. Guy at reception was very friendly and helpful. Location is a plus, just a few minutes walk from the station and if you need food, there are a few eateries around that open late. They also have rental bicycles.

I have actually traveled to Japan for a dozen times, and I have lived in a cheap hotel chain many times, so I will be very careful about choosing a hotel. This time I chose this hotel is actually very hesitant, because I saw that the evaluation on the Internet is ordinary, and there are very few blogs introducing this. But this really has a big advantage: 1. He's right next to Beppu Station and doesn't take two minutes to walk. 2. He has free hot springs to soak, but these are shortcomings that will be described later. Basically: there are elevators, breakfast available, free luggage. But the shortcoming is: 1. The hot springs are going to the sisters' store, which is opposite the station, so you have to go across the station and cross the main road to the hotel opposite. I didn't go to the soaking shop alone because my family was tired, but the sister shop felt great and it should not be too bad. The grandparents at the counter were not very good in English, but they were still very patient to communicate with you. This time, six people from our family came to Beppu to travel, we slept in three double rooms, the room is not small, not much worse than other Japanese affordable hotels, even I think the cheapest room type than APA is bigger! Don't expect the toilet to be big in Japan, just one person can squeeze it. This hotel has everything to offer, everything to pay for, so don't worry, grandparents at the problem counter will help you too! Some people commented on the old hotel, in fact I think only the elevator feels a bit slow, the room is really new, and there is no spider or dirty place during the stay. Finally, I really recommend that if you have come to Beppu, you can consider living in this room. If you want to live in a very advanced hotel, it is different. But if you ask for a high CP value, this is really super recommended!

The room was clean and comfortable with many storage areas, but for an elderly mother with poor knees, the following points were few 々 problems. The threshold of the toilet door is too high, and it is difficult to cross the threshold. I was wondering if I could catch my leg. I have a hand indoors in the large communal bath, but I gave up using it because there was no handrail in the open-air bath. There are two types of bath chairs with different heights in the cherry blossom bath, but for my mother who has difficulty bent her knees deeply, all of them are low, and I finally sat down and washed my body while feeling pain in my knees. In the hotel I used in the past, there were many places where the bus chair with high seats was installed. I will also use those who have problems with their legs and waist, so I would be happy if you could improve this point.

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Service was very good. Parking was an extra 550 yen per day. Breakfast was Japanese style but did include a bacon and egg cooked in front of each guest with the small Japanese hotpot. Our room fit 3 adults was very nice with clean modern amenities consisting of one room with two single beds, and a sizable living room with futon in the evening for the third bed. Nice view of Beppu tower in our room. Hotspring outdoor was totally enjoyable with a view of the sunrise and the Beppu Bay. Gotta be careful though because for ladies, someone in a boat at the bay might be able to see our naked upper bodies with telescope if we stand up.😅

Facilities: Overall good, basically everything is there, but it is slightly inferior to other more expensive hot spring hotels.
Hygiene: The hygiene is OK, and everything is clean.
Environment: The overall environment of the hotel is very nice except that you can see the sea outside the balcony. The environment inside the hotel is average and has no aesthetic feeling.
Service: The two uncles at the front desk (straight men) need to experience it yourself, no professional fake smile hahahaha, the serving brother and aunt of the banquet cuisine are very warm and cute, but overall it is a fast hot spring hotel, don't hold such high expectations, soak in the hot spring and look at the sea, it will be very comfortable to book a room on the roof where you can soak your feet, soak your feet while watching the sea and drink a can of cold beer! Don't be too comfortable

For those driving, please note that there are limited parking lots behind the hotel building. If it's full, you'll need to park at the multi-story car park beside the hotel, which doesn't come with a lift. Several convenience stores are located nearby the hotel. Overall, the check-in experience was smooth. However, the wait for the lift is quite lengthy, as there are only three lifts serving all customers. It took me 10 minutes to go down during peak hours.

The Beppu Hotel I stayed at for the second time was very close to Kitahama and within 10 minutes of Beppu Station. There are also large supermarkets, bamboo tile hot springs and other facilities nearby. It is a relatively large old-fashioned hot spring hotel. The price is not expensive. The facilities are a bit old, but the service is very good. The front desk and hotel staff will smile and say hello every time. You will be very comfortable during your stay. In addition, if you need to take a bus to Jigoku Onsen or Yufuin, please note that the bus station number on Google Maps may be wrong, so be sure to confirm it at the station before getting on the bus.

Last time I booked a Western-style room this time I booked a Japanese-style room. Also, the glass used is cloudy due to aging deterioration, so it's time to replace it with a stone! ?? I booked Chinese food this time and I was expecting it because the Japanese food was delicious last time, but unfortunately Chinese food was not so good. There was no. If the interval is too wide, you will feel full and your food will not progress. I will never use Chinese food 2 from the next time. Breakfast is rich and delicious. Bath The open-air bath is comfortable, but I want you to put a good shampoo in the men's bath! The correspondence of the hotel staff was very good as last time.

The location is good. It's a little bit of a walk from Oita Station, but it's tolerable.
When I checked in, I had to wait about 20 minutes because the cleaning hadn't been finished yet.
The breakfast was delicious.

We booked 2x Japanese rooms for 3 nights, over the rugby period. Obviously all hotels were charging a premium, but having booked 12 months in advance, at a cost of virtually £2,000 (excluding breakfast and dinner), I expected the hotel to be pretty good. The staff were very pleasant, but the communication was a problem - appreciate that this is our fault as much as theirs! The rooms were very shabby in our opinion, the furniture was badly marked and it didn't seem very clean. The worst problem was the smell in one of the rooms though, the staff told us it was from the tatami matting, but it clearly wasn't, as the other room had the same floorcovering and didn't smell. We ended up thinking it was the drains - but it was very unpleasant. The bathroom was pretty basic, and not well maintained - dirty grout around the tub etc. We stayed at 5 other hotels in Japan, and generally the standard was as expected - this was the only disappointment when considering cost vs. quality. The futons were more comfortable that I had expected - I slept really well.

Outstanding
GGuest UserIt was an excellent experience in every aspect. Nothing beats a relaxing private onsen after each day out and the staff was so nice too. For what we got it was a very good price. The small houses are each unique and no matter which one you get, it'll look and feel nice. Beware that some of them are Futon only though.
There is no English translation for anything, but everything went smoothly with our small Japanese skills and Google Translate (the last of which could probably suffice by itself, especially as the staff is eager to throw in some English and Google Translate by themselves).
Thank you very much, we'll come again if we come to the Beppu area again.
YYifan63There is a very famous hot spring hotel in Beppu. The hotel is halfway up the mountain and the air is fresh. When you arrive at the hotel, a Chinese-speaking waiter will introduce you to the facilities and various situations in the store in detail. There are private hot springs and public baths in the room. The teppanyaki dinner and Japanese breakfast were very, very good. The only thing you need to pay attention to is to arrive a little early, otherwise the breakfast and dinner reservation times will be very single and there will be no choice.
Oonlywinxit's a small homey inn, amazing for cat lovers. you get to spend 1h in a room full of super friendly cats. their homemade breakfast and dinner is delicious and very filling - you even get to eat next to another room of cats!
the only downside is the location, which is 1 short train station (comes every 40mins) away from beppu station. it's a bit in the residential area, and the walk from higashibeppu station can get a bit quiet and dark, but overall still a great place to stay!
Yyuka1256We used a train view room for 2 nights on family trips. I usually choose a hotel with a lot of word of mouth & high evaluation, so I met the day with anxiety about the word of mouth of Matsubaya. It may have been low expectations, but as a result, it was all a nice inn that was more than expected, so I will write word of mouth for the first time in my life. I hope it will be a reference for anyone. First of all, I told him that I was a son of a train lover, and the lady gave me a very polite reply to the time of the train and the way to see it. The train view room looked in front of the window, and the children looked happy with the Shoji every time they heard it. There is a word of mouth that the freight train is noisy at night, and the sound is certainly good, but it was not so noisy that the children who were sleeping woke up. I really wanted to show you if I woke up because I was looking forward to the cargo in the middle of the night. SL was also very satisfied. The bath is a bit narrow as there was in other people's word of mouth. But in the morning, light came in from a lot of windows and it was a very bright and pleasant bath. The dryer was weak, but I had no problem with it because my hair was short... I stayed for two nights, but I had a completely different menu in the morning and night and enjoyed it. It was not a room meal, but I was able to relax in the tatami mats large hall. I was happy because this is a buffet hotel and there are always the same things even if I stay for 2 nights. All were very delicious! I was glad to have changed the menu a little for a 3 year old child. I didn't think I could eat ice shaving in winter, so I was impressed by the deliciousness of the child and the master. It was the best as an iron inn, and the room, the bath and the rice were very satisfied with everything. The personality of the inn was very warm and friendly. I asked you to build a rental bath, so I would like to go to stay again if I complete it.
CCHCheong173This hotel is about 10-15 mins walking from the JR Beppu station. It is easy to find as you just walk towards the seaside until you see the Beppu Tower beside a main road, the hotel is behind it. There is a 7-11 beside the tower, and a bus stop in front of the tower, so is quite convenient. If you take the bus to visit the 7 Beppu Hells starting from the JR station and follow the sequence, i.e. Chinoike and Tatsumaki Jigokus as the last two hells, and you take the bus towards the Beppu station, you can stop directly in front of the tower, this complete a full circle of your Beppu Hell tour. I booked a seaview Japanese room and the view is great. The room is also spacious for Japanese ryokan standard. There is some minor renovation and furniture replacement done, so the room is a mixture of new and worn. There are two onsen baths in this hotel: one at the top floor, an open air onsen bath and one at third floor, which is an indoor onsen bath. The dinner and breakfast are both average though. Overall, I am quite happy with my stay here.
GGuest UserMy stay at Amanek Inn Beppu Hotel was a tranquil retreat that exceeded my expectations. The rooms were impeccably clean, providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. The highlight, however, was undeniably the onsen experience. The serene hot springs offered a perfect escape, allowing me to relax and rejuvenate amidst the beautiful surroundings. Additionally, the staff's support was exceptional, with their attentiveness and helpfulness contributing to a seamless and enjoyable stay. I highly recommend Amanek Inn Beppu for anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway.
OooshitaI stayed with my wife on November 25. This is the second time this time, but I felt very good with a smile and a polite reception with a parking lot organizer and a receptionist at the counter. The Viking was also very delicious and the corona countermeasure was also complete with gloves and hand wipes everywhere in the venue, and it was very clean, and the alcohol for disinfection was installed in the building. The bathroom was very clean.
VVacation811917While the Rugby World Cup was on the rise, I went to Oita Prefecture for work, and in Beppu, I used the price near the station. Until I arrived, I didn't know that the Rugby World Cup was being done in Oita. The hotel is close to the station, there are many restaurants and convenient location. The hotel is old, but there are hot springs and sauna, and it is an environment that is sufficiently satisfactory even for business use. In the morning, I was grateful for the free service of a drink at the cup drink vending machine in front of the front desk.
NNikita1114The word of mouth everywhere was quite bad and less 々 I visited while I was worried, but I thought it was quite improved. The room (Japanese room) was cleaned properly. The bathroom was cute with a retro tile. The ”callable seat” for dinner was delicious, and the charge was a trainee from foreign countries, but the language and the explanation of the dish were neat. I also saw a word of mouth that there is no basic cosmetics in the public bath, but now there is cosmetics and all in one gel. The gel was very fragrance and comfortable. I brought Kindle and movie DL, etc., and I was prepared to connect wifi, but I was able to connect quickly and use the video delivery site. However, it is unknown whether this was because of the strengthening of the facilities or whether the access point was not insufficient because the number of guests was extremely small. The only thing that was unfortunate was that I had a backrest top to hit the chair at the breakfast hall. It was good to bring a sterilization tissue. The front desk staff is also very good, and I think it can be said that it is good compared to the price if it is always like this.
EExplorer808551Due to the influence of the coronavirus, the capsule hotel floor was not open, so we stayed in a rental room (a capsule type room with an internal lock on the door) for one night. The biggest selling point of this facility is that for a stay of just over 3,000 yen, you can enter the natural hot spring ``Tengu no Yu'' 24 hours a day without any additional charges. As expected from Beppu, the city of hot springs♪ Although it is located one street away from the downtown area, it is still a leisurely 10 minute walk to Beppu Station. Recommended for those who want to stay overnight without meals at a low price.
