Protea Hotel Blantyre Ryalls

Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Rooms are a little tired but meticulously cleaned and looked after. I was there for two weeks while working and I could t have been happier. Internet comes and goes a little and lighting in the room is not always the best when working late, but very homely place to stay

Such a great, safe and comfortable space. Huge breakfast. I made my lunch at the breakfast buffet. Comfy rooms and we were lucky enough to have music near the pool on Friday night. ATM close walk and great airport transfer.

the best business hotel in Blantyre by far. Classic styling offering a range of meals from buffet or the elegant restaurant next door. Staff always helpful with little requests like Ironing, extra Green tea, document printing etc. A nice blend of fellow guests.

It was an amazing trip to Protea hotel Malawi, property found neat-cozy & well maintains. we like the eye catching beautiful view from the room view door glasses. Thank you hotel management. Bravo,

I pleased with my stay at the Protea Ryalls overall. I emailed in advance to book the airport shuttle and the driver was awaiting with a sign for me. The front desk provided an automatic upgrade to a suite based on my Marriott status, which was not the case at my previous three Protea stays on this same trip in other cities. The hotel has a nice restaurant with a small bar on-site, which is a good bonus if you aren't comfortable walking around too much. I was there on New Years Day, so it was open when outside options were not due to the holiday. Room was clean and everything worked well. The courtyard and pool area of the pool were well maintained.

Stayed just 1 night on business. Hotel well appointed. Room fresh, modern and comfy. Breakfast selected limited. Staff were fantastic at check in. I booked by email an airport shuttle which was charged to my room. Pick up efficient and top level service

I enjoy everything about this place, it makes my Blantyre days beautiful 🤩 Clean rooms, perfect garden views, delicious food, friendly staff….I mean you can name it all🔥 I highly recommend this Hotel, the service is top notch and I get the value for my money….💙

Since Marriott bought out Protea Hotels this hotel has slid back and lost it's mojo. Many of the old professional staff are gone - a few still remain but many of the professionals who could have worked anywhere in any hotel in the world are unfortunately not there anymore. Staff are still friendly and helpful. The rooms are tired but clean - the showers in a poor state - towels are now frayed and in urgent need of replacement - there was no better time to give the old lady a face lift during the low occupancy due to Covid? Covid protocols are reasonable but staff are hesitant to ask and enforce the signage that says "NO MASK NO ENTRY". Breakfast are adequate but the quality and selection has dropped - corners cut once again since the Protea heydays days. 21 Grill used to be by leaps and bounds the best restaurant - service and food - still has some good days - but not the consistent greatness of when Bevan was at the helm.

Found the Rooms were in state of disrepair. Desk had water damage. Tv frame was broken. The air conditioning failed several times. I asked for room change but was never moved, I stayed for 14 days, tried to ask for upgrade was told they would try but they never got back to me. Asked the manager for upgrade, he gave me his card but never got back to me either. Restaurant, room service and valet Staff were very friendly and prompt.
