A well located hotel that's easily accessible to Bordeaux city. The shower room could be better though. Excellent breakfast and the staff are friendly

The facilities were clean and tidy, although a bit overpriced in comparison to the actual amenities. Very helpful and accommodating staff!

I am satisfied with the cleanliness of the hotel and the politeness and friendliness of the staff. The location is far to go to the center.

Convenient for Bordeaux, about 30x minutes from the old town with parking & EV charging stations, a bonus for us. Comfortable rooms & helpful staff. Restaurant reasonable, limited choice but tasty. Breakfasts good offering a cooked selection as well as the usual coffee & croissants!

We have arrived from Ireland for 3 nights, 23 of us for the Rugby World Cup. Our team is staying in this hotel. We arrived back to the hotel tonight at 11.47 as residents and we could not order a drink! we were told they close at midnight, but it wasn't midnight. 23 of us are paying an expense rate. It is unbelievable that we should be treated this way. As Irish supporters we are famous worldwide for our fun and good humour, without trouble or drama. They have lost considerable income, but my complaint is the manner in which we were treated regarding this issue. If I had the option to change hotel I would instantly. A DISGRACE!!
Response from Property: Dear Bryan Hamilton Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We appreciate that you and your friends chose our Mercure Bordeaux Château Chartrons Hotel to stay at during your Rugby World Cup visit. At Mercure, our goal is to ensure that every guest has an enjoyable stay. We are sorry to hear that you were not looked after when you returned late at night. The hotel bar's closing time is midnight, but we understand that it can be frustrating when service is not available when you expect it. We hope you had a positive experience in Bordeaux. Thank you for your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back soon! Géraldine Chateau Assistant Manager

We stayed here for a RWC game, the hotel is 'nice' but the rooms are so dark inside. I know you don't visit somewhere for the room, but they were pretty off putting. Our bathroom was fine but tiles were falling off our friends bathroom walls. It was expensive for what it was, it is also a good 15 minutes walk to the tram/riverfront. Breakfast was very busy, they kept running out of food/plates/glasses and were very slow to replace anything. I would stay closer to the center of Bordeaux if we visit again.

Room was quite dark. Hotel was a little tired and needs freshening up. Bed was uncomfortable due to a mattress liner. Good breakfasts and centrally located.

Huge rooms, queen size bed, coffee/tea making facilities, hairdryer, plenty of soaps, towels, free WiFi, beds made room cleaned daily, breakfast typical French choices of hams, cheeses, bread, eggs, croissants etc..Great location, near trams, bars and restaurants. Close to River, beautiful city. Very popular with cyclists.

Very nice hotel a little out of the core. When construction is completed in front of the hotel it will seem less removed from downtown core. Breakfast buffet is fantastic

This hotel was great, all staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was super clean and well maintained, and has a really nice aesthetic and design style. Great breakfast in the morning with tons of options. My only negative was the air conditioning in the room was a bit weak, even with the fan speed set on maximum, it didn’t cool the room quite to the level we would have wanted.

We were expecting the rooms to look like the pictures on their website and social media, and those on Tripadvisor. But, that wasn't the case for us. Some of the rooms are old, tired, damp, grubby and waiting to be re-furbished. Make sure you ask for a newly refurbished room! However, the beds were clean and so were the towels. The frontage of the hotel could also do with a makeover. Looks rundown on the outside.

We were upgraded to a fantastic room If going on a river cruise once you find the hotel which is walking distance from red line B even if pulling cases east Lots of little cafes etc in the square which we didn’t know about until a local showed us which was so close At the river many eating places especially at night Sunday mornings a fresh market where the river boats moor
