David and peanut were the perfect hosts from start to finish. We arrived for a short break, a belated honeymoon and were greeted by both of them at the door. Shown to our room which was spotless. A lovely touch from David were the rose petals on the bed upon our arrival. The decor was modern with plenty of storage space. TV was better than the usual hotel ones. There was an amazon stick so we could access less mundane channels. The room was the spa room with a separate toilet and separate bathroom. An added bonus was the jacuzzi, that was so relaxing, along with a decent sized shower. Toiletries were also supplied. Would recommend to everyone to stay with David and Peanut. We will definitely return. Thank you both, best wishes Maxine and Doug
Laguna Hotel

I have been to the two Britannia Hotels in Bournemouth and I thought I would try the Laguna as another independent hotel. It is pretty clean and adequate although somewhat dated. But if a lot was spent then it would cease to be a budget hotel. Fellow at reception lent me his IPhone charger and lead. In the evenings there was a singer both evenings and several were dancing. Bar was open until about 10 pm. That was good compared with the Britannia hotels!

Anybody looking through TripAdvisor, would be hard pushed to find a reasonably priced hotel in Bournemouth that didn't have some terrible reviews. We needed 2 hotel rooms for 1 night only, and it was a late decision to stay over rather than drive home. I chose The Piccadilly based on reviews on a hotel booking site, which were much better than those on here. Check in was easy, and handled by a pleasant young lady The rooms were clean and airy, as was the bathroom, linens were clean, and there were plenty of clean towels for the 2 of us. Whilst we didn't eat or drink at the hotel, it looked clean and tidy around the reception area. This is not the most modern of hotels, and it is not the Ritz, but neither are the prices. I would not hesitate to stay there again. My only gripe, and it's not specific to this hotel, is having to pay for parking.

I recently stayed here for two nights when visiting the area and could not have been happier with what I experienced. As an ex-Hotel Manager of over 35 years expertise, I know what to expect, and if something isn't right, I'd say so. Not so with this establishment; from arrival to checkout, the place was faultless. My room was exceptionally clean (I know the usual dust traps, but there were none!), the room had everything I needed and standards that matched some of the major Chain Hotel groups. Breakfast on both mornings was really good, it was plentiful, with a decent buffet of cold items, and cooked breakfast was piping hot and well presented. It was a surprise on arrival to see the ”Four in a Bed” Winning plaque at the front door; I can understand why, as I was very impressed with my stay, will heartily recommend it, and will return without fail on future visits to the area.

When we checked into our room we discovered a small card informing us that there would be no cleaning service unless we specifically requested it. We specifically requested a room clean at reception the following morning and left a swing ticket on the door handle requesting a room clean. We also informed them that the TV was now working, probably the remote batteries and we were assured that all would be attended to that day. After a long day we returned to find and could not enter because the key card was not programmed for our two day stay so I had to go to the reception to sort this out. We then entered our room to find that it had not been cleaned and made up and the TV was also still not working. No one had been in our room that day! We the had to order clean dry towels to be delivered whilst we made the bed and cleaned up the tea cups etc. The hotel advertise a coffee machine in each room but does not tell you that in a double room you are supplied with just 2 coffee capsules and if you do not specifically request a room clean, these 2 coffee capsules are to last the duration of your stay! We have stayed at hotels before where, for environmental reasons, you are asked if you actually require clean towels every day and I totally understand the logic but in these instance they still provide a daily chamber maid service.

We stayed on my wife birthday on 8th May 2023. I had booked the gold cup room and was super excited for my wife. I booked though booking.com and had a great price. We arrived at 3pm and I was greeted by a very polite lady who walked me to the room and gave me the keys. Just wow! The room was fabulous! I then brought the wife up and her eyes nearly popped out with happiness. The bath takes central stage next to the lovely bed. Lots of mirrors and the peacock decor is just perfect. The furniture is nice and the shower is powerfull. The lovely spot lights that surround the bed and bath are a really nice touch! Breakfast was also very nice with booking times provided. Overall this was a most excellent stay albiet for only one night and we cant wait to visit again! Thank-you Tereza
