Staff are helpful, breakfasts service was excellent.

There was a problem with the shower in my room (which itself was very good, clean etc) but the manager was exceptional in dealing with it. I was upgraded to an executive room. Wow. I'm booking this place for my wife and I when we have a leisure visit. Outstanding service. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who were all lovely.

Stayed for one night, staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms a bit dated but good value and clean, bed comfortable and no noise during the night. Would stay again. Large carpark with no extra charges was a bonus, just log your reg plate on screen in reception.

My friend got married here 20 years ago when it was a Holiday Inn and there doesn’t have seemed to be any renovation since. The room was tired and far too dark. The bed was huge and very comfortable though but got a terrible nights sleep as all I good here was a regular loud banging noise above. I sounded like a washing machine on spin cycle but it was every 30 mins throughout the night. Breakfast was pretty mediocre Not worth the money I paid for the room.

On arrival, we thought the exterior of the building was lovely, but it did not continue inside. At reception, when we checked in, we asked to book a table for dinner. The receptionist said that we would not need to book and could eat at any time before 10.30 pm. The lift was out of order, so we had to carry out luggage up 2 flights of stairs whilst looking for our room. The corridors were tatty, the bannisters were wobbly, and when we got to the room, it smelt of cigarettes. We had booked a double and were given a family room. The beds were comfortable, and the linen was clean. However, the bathroom was tatty with marks in the bath and sink. The light above the vanity areawas absolutely fithy, and the toilet brush needed to be condemned as it was disgusting. When we went to the bar, we were ignored and had to wait to be served even though no one else was waiting. We were told the restaurant was full and that we could eat in the bar area, however, the food would be at least half an hour as they were busy. We were given a menu, but after waiting about 15 minutes for our order to be taken, we left and ate at a local pub. This hotel is in a lovely location but it is obvious that it is not run efficiently and the staff need training. We will not be returning.

I had a terrible experience. The culture of the management is clearly that the customer does not matter and this filters through to the other staff that I encountered. The room had no proper light, the bed was soft and the linen of the lowest quality. I would avoid this hotel.

Had a great 2 night stay here, rooms were clean, warm, comfy. Staff very friendly! Even cleaned the room the 2nd day and stocked up shower gels, coffee ect. Looking forward to our next visit! Hotel is beautiful. I didnt know the bar shut at 10 but i had gone for a drink at 11 and the receptionist opened the bar up just to get me a drink, great service and beautiful hotel
