Friendly staff apart from one or two. Food was a bit repetitive. Overall would have been a decent experience however on the 2nd last day around 60+ Spanish people had a conference type meeting in Sol 1 and was here for the next few days. Which then the hotel mainly catered for Spanish with the entertainment now not being English at all, pushing in ques for drinks, taking food out of snack bars when our children wasn’t allowed, even resulted in a young child being hit by a Spanish lady because she couldn’t take one of the chairs we was using… just chaos. Attitude completely changed from staff prioritising the Spanish. Overall I wouldn’t come back.

After reading all the reviews I was dreading coming here. I’ve just left after a week in the hotel and I think a lot of the reviews were a bit harsh. We arrived at 10:30 am and check in was 3pm. Our room was ready on arrival so we got in straight away which was great! The room was really clean, the bed was comfortable and the size was fine for 2 of us. The only issue was the door stop in the bathroom in the middle of the floor. I kept banging my toe on it. Although we were all inclusive we only ate breakfast and lunch in the hotel. There are so many lovely restaurants in Palma nova so we decided to go out for our evening meal. The hotel food was fine, it’s what you would expect from an all inclusive buffet. There was plenty of choice. I’m vegetarian and there were a few different options for me every day. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about the plastic cups and token policy at the bar. Basically you are given a token you order your drink at the bar and your given it in a plastic cup. When you are finished you either hand your cup back and get your token back or you order another drink which you are given in a new cup when you hand the finished drink back. I can see why they do this, it stops people abusing the all inclusive and it keeps the place clean as there are no glasses lying about on the tables. The disadvantage is when you finish you drink and want to leave you have to stand in a queue to get your token back. Another thing is not everyone finishes their drink at the same time so if one person finishes they either have to wait till everyone else in their group has finished or everyone has to keep going to the bar at different times. We stayed one night for the entertainment. We didn’t really enjoy it. We felt it was more for the Spanish tourists. It was great for families, there seemed to be a great kids club and great kids entertainment at night. As a couple it wasn’t really for us. The pool areas were fine. We got a bed no problem. The big pool doesn’t get the sun all day. By about 2pm it’s all in the shade. The smaller pool seemed to get sun all day but it was harder to get a bed at this pool. The staff were all very friendly, the rooms were cleaned every day, overall we had a pleasant stay. We realised that an all inclusive family hotel isn’t really for us as a couple so we probably wouldn’t go back but that’s just our preference. There wasn’t anything wrong with the hotel. Don’t be put off with the bad reviews as a lot of them are very harsh and unfair in my opinion

I have just returned from Sol Palma Nova. The location is ideal and it was reasonable value for money being all inclusive. Unfortunately the two daytime barmen who came on shift after our first 3 days ( at Sol palma nova 2) were rude and arrogant and need customer service training. They didnt even acknowledge you at the bar and when they did they might aswell not of. And seemed to make up their own rules on smoking at top row of tables only. The rest of bar staff were pleasant. Hotel clean but basic, food was repetitive and did not look or taste appetising. We ate out from day two. All in all a good holiday due to location but would not return to this hotel.

I made the decision to look at reviews before we stayed here, which I never do. But after all the negative stuff I read, I was a bit worried, but I found the hotel very clean, staff friendly, drinks fresh, perfect location. All inclusive food is all the same if you ask me anyway and we always go out for evening meals so can’t comment on that. The pool was cold, but it’s October. It should be expected at this time of year. The beds I found very comfy, I like a firm bed, it helps with my back. The rooms are small but cosy, shower is much better than some hotels I’ve stayed in. We stayed with our 1 year old and was a travel cot in the room on check in. Evening entertainment was good. No sun bed wars, probably the time of the year tho. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and everyone was friendly. Only issue for us with a pram was the lifts, always full when going down, having to wait 5-10 minutes each time for it to be empty or enough room to fit the pram and Mrs in, so I would use the stairs. Would I stay again?? Yes 100%.

Gracias

I’m quite a newbie to Trip Advisor but have always found it to be really helpful, when people are HONEST. And so, this is my very honest, PERSONAL experience with Sol Palmanova. I stayed here with my finance in October, for a few nights child-free break. I read the reviews prior and found them to be quite mixed. Being this is a 4-star hotel, I felt that outweighed the negativity. Neither my partner or I are particularly fussy, nor in food nor standards and we just wanted a quiet few nights peace where we didn’t have to lift a finger. The accommodation itself was ideal; really simple but clean and comfortable. With one exception, all of the staff were great; super friendly, helpful and welcoming. The one negative would be the one lady responsible for cleaning the room who was really rude when I said to her one morning “we’ll be out of your hair in 5 minutes”. I don’t know what had offended her but she then didn’t bother cleaning it at all. I had stripped the beds myself in preparation and ended up finding her trolley and doing it myself later on that evening. The food looks great, the desserts always looked perfect, the food always looked appealing. The breakfasts were quite nice, the juice always fresh, a variety of options. As for the rest of the food, unfortunately it was tasteless and repetitive; AS IN, what you have for lunch, you have for dinner. The food itself was incredibly bland, undercooked in places - the meat was inedible (as shown in pictures) and the salad gave me diarrhoea and vomiting (as confirmed by staff, from the water it is washed in). I lived on chips and smash (which again, upset my stomach from the water content). As for everything else, everything was to be expected for what we paid. PROS: - plenty of sun-loungers around (the pool outside Sol 1 is pretty shaded by mid afternoon) - The drinks were always good, and fresh - The entertainment team were fab! Not too pushy, but really friendly - The hotel is perfectly situated amongst lots of shops, bars and restaurants so plenty to do outside the hotel - The beach itself in Palmanova is beautiful! CONS: - no bottled water available, only little paper cups you can fill - The food (obviously) - Don’t be caught out by the tourism tax at reception - The hotel is quite noisy by night, obviously because it’s so central to the nightlife All in all, I feel had the food been better, the holiday would’ve been perfect. But I really struggled after just 5 days, so I can imagine it would be miserable to be there any longer.

After reading pages upon pages of reviews I was feeling worried about staying here, however have just returned and had a fantastic time! We travelled as a family with 4 adults and 2 children aged 3, girls holiday. Upon arrival reception was clean and airy and we were told our 2 rooms weren’t yet ready (we arrived 1pm) but we could get our bands, leave our luggage and go to the restaurant or look around. We had booked a year in advance and requested rooms together however they were 2 floors apart, on the 7th and 9th floors, not ideal with 2 children in prams but manageable. Once our rooms were ready we attempted to take our cases but both lifts had broken! The doors just kept opening and closing so this wasn’t a great start but the staff took us in their service lift and although the lifts were temperamental and we did have to use the service lift another twice during the stay, it didn’t ruin anything. The rooms are quite small but we only stayed for 5 nights so again was manageable for 2 adults and 1 child. Aircon worked great. Food- breakfast and lunch were fine with a standard selection (although I’d say more 3* quality than 4*) of all inclusive items such as pizza, pasta, chips, rice, salad, fruit, bread, meats, cheese etc. there was always a grilled meat and grilled fish option too. Evening meals really were not great but we had expected that after reading reviews and so we ate out most nights. The location is fantastic and there are some lovely restaurants and bars really close by. Drinks- fine, standard all inclusive. A few cocktails were included and slush was also included which was good for the children. You did have to use glass beakers in the restaurant for wine and it was self pour, which just didn’t taste right not in a wine glass but never mind. The only negative is on an evening time drinks are still served in the reusable plastic cups whereas most places switch to proper glasses on an evening. You get give a token for each person upon check in and you exchange this for a cup, once you’re finished your drink you take this cup back to the bar and get a replacement, at the end of the day or when you don’t want any more drinks you can also ask for a token back. Saves wastage and rubbish so not a complaint on this. Location- fanatic you’re right near numerous beaches and just walk out of the white gates behind the pool and have numerous bars, shops, restaurants etc in close proximity. Beaches are lovely! Pools- again great, the kids pool and activity pool get thee sun all day, we were still out sunbathing at 6pm in October. The long lagoon style pool loses the sun very quickly but not many people were sat around there. There’s no issues with sunbeds and it was nice not having sunbed wars that you get in other hotels of this standard. Staff- absolutely fantastic, the photographer is great we had a photoshoot on the beach with her and the entertainment staff work so hard- special shout out to Andrea for looking after our girls in the k

We’ve just got back from the Sol Palmanova and we had a brilliant time! Do not listen to the bad reviews on here. This was our 6th stay here and if it were as bad as others say, why would we keep returning? Big thank you to the kids club who dedicate all day near enough to entertain all the children at the hotel and huge shout to the other members of the entertainment team who keep the big kids (adults) entertained also. Alba on the bar had a special mention. So polite and friendly. She instantly remembered us from previous visits. We had the large family room with solarium and it was simply superb. Great for our young children. 1st time we have stayed in this type of room and now we would not stay in any other for future visits. The cleaners were on hand every day and made sure our room was spotless each time it was cleaned. Towels also changed daily and bins emptied. Even made little settings in our son’s cot with his teddy’s which was a nice touch. The new all the inclusive system I think works well and keeps the hotel grounds clean and tidy with no cups just chucked on the floor for staff to pick up. Pool areas once again, spotless and tidy. Plenty of sun loungers. Also plenty of space parasols for those that like the shade. Food was always hot and plenty of it. The selection was varied for all tastes. So many choices and fresh lovely fruit put out daily. Checkin was fast and all receptionists during our stay were helpful and informative. Would we return for another visit in the future, 100% yes we would when we return to Palmanova. Thank you once again from the whole Bars family. You guys are brilliant and deserve more credit for the hard work you put in from management and reviews.
