I this was a business trip and it is one of go to hotels because it has a pool which is heated to a reasonable temperature. Very nice hotel, good breakfast. People very friendly. Front desk efficient and attentive. I find the staff very accommodating.

Hotel Staff: friendly, available, helpful. There is no housekeeping but you can get new towels by going to the front desk. Hotel Itself-very clean, breakfast daily (we didn’t eat there but it smelled good), plenty of parking. Rooms-there were 2 of us; king bed. Beds were comfortable, room was immaculate. Plenty of towels, toiletries. Walls are rather thin. My only complaint, but it’s a big one, the WiFi is terrible. It’s a big deal when trying to work remotely during part of the stay & then trying to watch Netflix at night to drown out the noise from other rooms (thin walls).

I sincerely like this hotel and that’s the reason I’ve returned to it more than 10 times within the last 3 months! Excellent breakfast, very respectful staff and oh great location. There rooms are always very clean also. They charge as little as $87 plus tax for a kings bedroom with a living room and sofa! My only issue is why I have never been rewarded for being a consistently returning customer lol.

On July 14 I flew to Detroit to attend a funeral on the 15th. I carefully researched airport hotels. The one I wanted was The Westin but couldn’t justify $340 for 11 hours. So I chose the next best thing, Embassy Suites, still expensive at $200 but I prefer to be clean and comfortable in hotels. Embassy Suites has always fit the bill in the past. When I walked into Room 217 my heart sank. It did not have that clean feel I was used to and had a moldy odor with old worn out furniture. I took photos to prove all of my anxieties. The curtains were old, thin, shabby and torn. The sofa was torn in several places. The table had dried food on it. The beds looked like children had made them up and the pillows were small squares like the size of medium throw pillows. The bed spreads were worn out and thin. There were stains on the pillow cases and make upon one. The towels were shredding. The toilet was so small your knees were up in front of you. I was appalled and disheartened. But, like a big girl, I sucked it up and did my best to make the room to,enable by spraying it with sanitizer and perfume and covering areas with towels. I carry a travel sheet for those…’Just-in-case’ moments which I never thought would happen at an ES hotel. I put my sheet over the sheet and pillow case and tried to be a good soldier. I began to nod and opened my eyes and saw something moving. Startled, I jumped out of the bed and grabbed a tissue to see what this was. I hate bugs of any kind but at this point of desperation, the bar was so low, all I could hope for was that it was a filthy disgusting roach and NOT A BEDBUG‼️ I put the insect in the water glass with a little water and took a picture. When I enlarged the picture I was beyond upset and completely baffled…IT WAS A TEXTBOOK BEDBUG!!! I googled images of bedbugs to see if this really was a bedbug and…it really was a bedbug…smh. I called downstairs and told the desk clerk, Diamond, there was a bedbug in my be along with all the other cosmetic problems, she replied “I can assure you it is not a bedbug cuz we get checked for them every two weeks. I decided to take it down to the manager but that person was gone. I showed Diamond the photos of the condition of my room and she was disconnected. She explained the furniture is not their fault because Covid prevented them from remodeling. Ok, regardless of the reason, the facts were the facts. She didn’t need to prove anything just lend an ear of understanding how I was feeling about paying $200 for 11 hours. It seemed Diamonds customer service skills needed honing. Diamonds words of understanding and compassion were “Would you like to check out?” I kid you not. I was not trying to get a refund, I saved $10 by using Priceline instead of Hiltons site so, no, I’m just letting you know what’s happening…period. I only spent 1 night here, and I was kinda prepping for a typical sort of crappy motel. Is it a luxury hotel? No, no one is gonna confuse it for that. But the room was comfortable, the wifi worked, the shower was fine, AC worked well and maybe most importantly for an airport hotel, the price was reasonable and there was a shuttle available. I really couldn't have asked for anything more in an airport hotel, frankly every major city should have this as an option and sadly that's just not the case, far too often you're in over $100 for the same room or worse. Of note, I clicked ”yes” an outdoor pool is available, but in reality their pool is totally out of commission. Didn't bother me, and in the upcoming months it won't matter, but if you wanted to take a dip, you can't.

I booked this room for a little getaway. The hotel was very nice on the inside(lobby), the room was clean and up to my standards. The only thing that I was unhappy about was I wanted a room with the patio, this was also in my reservations. However when I got to the hotel to check in, I was informed that they did not have any more rooms with a patio available. That was my whole point of choosing this particular hotel because of the patio. Had I known this ahead of time I would have chosen a different hotel. I would stay there again but I would call first to make sure the accommodations can be met.

I had nothing but problems with this hotel. I was only staying there for work and my job was paying for it. The first time I stayed there about a month ago, they told me they needed my credit card to hold a deposit. I was then charged for the room instead of a pending hold. I’m still going back and forth with their accounting department to try to get that charge taken off. When I stayed there the first time, they were also supposed to have a meeting room set up for me the next day. When I went to the front desk they had no idea what I needed. I showed them the contract my boss sent me and they took 30 minutes to scramble up a room last minute. I had to start my meeting late because of the hotel forgetting to set up the room. The second time I stayed, last night, when I go to check in they tell me there is no card on file and I have to pay for the room! I told them that’s incorrect and called my boss. The woman at the front desk called her boss too and told me it was settled but I needed to put my card down for the deposit. I told her last time they charged me for the room, she promised me that would not happen again. Now today, I check my statements and I have a pending charge for $100, the deposit, and a random $35 charge that I have NO idea what for! I’ll call tomorrow to try to get it settled but I just can’t believe the issues I’ve had with this hotel. I travel a LOT with this company and have NEVER had issues like this before!

This is our regular place to when visiting Livonia. There was a small problem with the window, which they fixed very quickly. Otherwise the room was great and the people were very friendly. However, the breakfast on Sunday left something to be desired. Being restricted to gluten-free only, I could have eggs and sausage. The sausage links were abominable. I spoke to someone that the desk, but of course they couldn't do anything about it at that moment. I actually spit it out because it tasted so bad. The eggs and the sausage patties were quite good though.

I had a poor experience at the Sheraton in Novi while staying with a family member to celebrate a belated Christmas as we weren't able to get together around Christmas proper. While I was upgraded to a room on the club lounge floor, the guest room I received was not clean by any definition of clean. There was hair on the desk and desk chair, hair on the toilet, hair under the toilet seat, hair on the wrapped bar of soap and soap dish, stains on the desk, and stains on the face tissue container. The single bathrobe hanging in the closet appeared to have been previously worn and didn't have a cincture. On my reservation I specifically requested only 100% feather pillows. My reservation also requested a bathrobe, slippers, extra pillows and extra towels. I didn't receive any of those things. The four pillows were four polyester down-alternative pillows. Those pillows are horrible. They always feel like someone stuffed cotton balls in a pillowcase. During check-in I noticed a sign at the front desk saying daily housekeeping is not provided, unless specially requested. The major cleanliness issues that I experienced are a direct result of what happens when hotels don't clean rooms and other spaces each and every day. I received zero Marriott Bonvoy elite status recognition. Specifically, I was not offered the choice at check-in of breakfast in the restaurant, an amenity or points. I complained to the general manager, who to his credit acknowledged the lack of cleanliness was unacceptable, fully apologized and took responsibility. To resolve the issue, he offered to comp my stay and ensure that the room was thoroughly cleaned while we were out of the room and off-property at a nearby shopping mall. He also apologized for the lack of Bonvoy recognition and provided the $100 cash compensation that is required by Marriott for not offering guest with platinum or higher Bonvoy status the choice at check-in of breakfast in the restaurant, an amenity or points. When we returned, the room was properly cleaned. The pillows were replaced with feather pillows, although none of the feather pillows had pillow protectors or pillowcase liners. Two clean bathrobes and two pairs of slippers were placed in the closet. The general manager was also kind enough to leave a bottle of wine in the room. My family member was really appreciative of that gesture. Despite the issues, the staff that I encountered throughout the stay were polite, welcoming and hospitable. That aside, there was zero excuse for the cleanliness issues or the lack of attention to what was specified on the reservation The club lounge was open with an average evening offering that included a selection of assorted cheeses, crackers, grapes, fruit and some basic canapés. Besides free nonalcoholic drinks, an honor bar featured cheap house wine ($5 retail bottles of wine) selling for $5 a glass. The club lounge is a nice smaller space. The outside of this hotel makes it look quite clean and accommodating however, looks are deceiving. I was booked a room for 2 nights, (not cheap) and was assigned a room at the back of the hotel. The room was not as clean as it should be. The lamp in the corner was broken, there is a distinct lack of accessible plugs for laptops and cell phone. The carpet looked like it needed a good shampoo and the chair by the bed definitely needed an upholstery clean. The bathroom was far from clean with a dirty tissue dispenser, a portable mirror on the vanity was absolutely filthy underneath and the tile calking on the floor was brown with heavy staines. Even the room number on the telephone did not match the actual room number. The room safe was unable to be opened as the previous guest had locked it and left it with their own combination. Don't waste your hard earned money on this place. I decided to only stay the one night.
