Although I did not book this hotel and I understand why it was chosen (price), unless you are fresh out of college or trying to save, not worth it, stay away from this hotel. It looks like it has never been updated since the 80’s. No elevator to take bags up to second floor which was fine for me, but for the ladies or elder folk traveling alone, not very good. If was hot and musty. Smelled like a nursing home and everything was retro fixed instead of being properly maintained. The room was standard and was really hot as the heater was set to 80 F. I tried to turn on the AC to get it down to 70 and it just shut off. Obviously, to save on electricity, but not convenient for the guests. The tub faucet was running and I had to close it with more than normal force. The bed sheets were scratchy and the bed was meh. Breakfast was cereal, bread for toast and waffles. The advertising said hot breakfast. Ok, not so much. Again, it was only $62/night which should have been the first clue. I am curious as to why the Franchisor, Wyndham, hasn’t made them update the facility. Maybe the FA is weak in that area I don’t know, but this is a specific instance where one location can help to diminish the rest through a simple visit. With all that being said, I will never be back to this site and probably will never book at a Days Inn again which is unfair to the franchisees that actually do a great job. Shame on Wyndham for not keeping its locations up to date and I can almost guarantee that it is not up to code somewhere. I am thankful that I only had to stay one night. Oh, by the way, if you get in earlier than you planned, find something to do b/c they won’t let you check in early unless you put up a stink and then they will only let you in an hour earlier than check in time. Mind you the hotel is dead. As the famous Gomer Pyle once said, “Surprise, Surprise, Surprise”. Ugh.
