Staff are friendly and very helpful. I don't quite understand why there are vegetables for sale in reception. Parking must be booked in advance. Street parking is a big problem but there are several garages at €15 per day. I sort of knew what to expect in the Standard Club room on the third floor. It was a gamble. No lift and three flights of stairs to climb. I love all the wood in the roof which was the ceiling of our room. Room is very clean. Aircon is very effective. It's true, the floor is very squeaky, annoyingly so. Get rid of the bath and put a proper shower unit in! Most people just shower these days. Stepping in and out of the bath is a nuisance. Shower was powerful and plenty hot enough. Make sure you partner is aware of the toilet in the room with just a low bookcase separating it from the bedroom! Toilet seat is small. It's weird and maybe just a step too far. Our friends had a much bigger room on the first floor with a separate bathroom. More expensive but worth it. We didn't try breakfast, or the very limited bar. There are local cafes that have good, cheap options. Bed was comfortable and pillows were good. Some road noise and noisy seagulls in the morning. Location is fine and easy to get to most parts of Porto. Overall a good but slightly unusual experience

This is a charming hotel above a gourmet food and wine store. The rooms are extra large and well designed. Hot water and room thermostats worked perfectly The staff is amazing; very friendly and accommodating. They know you by name and greet you when you come in and say goodbye when you leave. The breakfasts are delicious, and you can prepay for breakfast or pay when you come. The location is close enough to the historic center about a 15 minute walk and far enough away to be very quiet. I highly recommend.

This is not a 5* property. It has no amenities except breakfast. The lighting in the room is abysmal. You cannot read or put on makeup. My reservation included breakfast, but the hotel charged me anyway and would not refund the charge. I ended up having to dispute it through my credit card company. The breakfast was good, and the staff made some nice dinner recommendations.

I loved everything about my experience. Between the hospitality, the food, and the space, it was just amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and I never wanted to leave. It’s simplicity was beautiful.

Three and a half stars. Large rooms. Hospitable staff. Very good restaurant with a garden. All kinds of goodies to buy (wine, olive oil, coffee, cookies ...). 15 minutes walking distance to downtown. But: - Don’t send your parents here. They will have to climb into the elevated bathtub without any handrail or bar. With your hands wet, getting out of the bathtub doesn’t feel safe. - Come only if you are intimate with your partner. We almost booked the “Queen” room, where bathroom/toilet walls don’t seem to go all the way to the ceiling (check the website photos, to make sure my interpretation is correct). - You are not very trustworthy here. Shower gel, hand soap, shampoo—they are all locked in their place. I don’t like the feeling. - Nice mid-century style, but little details are overlooked (linen curtain not covering bathroom’s glass windows into the bedroom, a broken lamp, very small trash cans, wooden floor creaks terribly) - No elevator (but the staff will bring your suitcases upstairs).

We stayed for a long weekend recently and were unfortunately disappointed with our stay. The hotel staff were excellent prior to arrival and kindly changed our dates at short notice when our son was in hospital resulting in us having to postpone our trip. The hotel and room were really nice, loved all the cool decor. Our main issue was that hot water took about 20-30minutes to warm up so we initially presumed it wasn’t working as did the staff member at reception who tried to help us so we had a cold shower 1st night. Then we were told on the 2nd night to leave it running for ages but I didn’t think it would take quite so long so pretty cold /Lukewarm shower 2nd night. Finally on 3rd night we had time to leave it running for that long although hated wasting so much water but finally had a hot shower. On morning of leaving we had to get to airport for 7am so didn’t want to get up extra early to wait for water to heat and waste water so didn’t bother with shower. We just felt for such an expensive room and boutique hotel, the least you could expect was easy access to hot water. The safe also didn’t work and we needed the master key to open it each time which was unnecessary hassle. Staff were lovely but service was very slow as there was usually only 1 person on for the reception and the restaurant. We felt the hotel could have compensated us with a small discount for the difficulties with hot water but when the receptionist contacted the owners or manager they said they could offer nothing which we felt was unreasonable. I gave private feedback to the hotel as they requested in their follow up email asking to tell them privately if things were not as expected but if it was good to share it online. They have not responded to my private feedback. I am not someone who normally complains but it was a big trip for us which we had researched a lot to choose where to stay so we were very excited to go and although we had a fab weekend in Porto, we felt let down by Rosa et al. Based on our experience and our fairly reasonable expectations for such an expensive stay not being met, we will not be staying at this property again or could not recommend it to others.
