This hotel was perfect for us and our stay in Cefalu. We were there for 2 days. The location of the hotel is amazing, right in the old city area, next to the beach and a quick walk to all the attractions (notably the cathedral and the rock) as well as restaurants. Our room’s AC worked very well and we didn’t hear any outside noisy at night. Breakfast was good. PS The hotel has a deal with one of the beach clubs - despite the beach club being a bit of a walk (15 minutes from the hotel) - it was well worth it.

Perfect location, well-kept interiors. The sea view is beautiful with a furnished balcony and outdoor sitting area, the breakfast on the terrace is beautiful. A stone's throw from the center, a stone's throw from the sea. Very kind manager and excellent breakfast. I will definitely go back

Stayed here for 10 days, Meet and greet team and all the restaurant staff were amazing and helpful, Nina the cleaner is a delight, breakfast is adequate but does not change much, would recommend getting to the diner as early as possible. Hotel is clean and very tidy throughout, jacuzzi is welcome on the terrazzo but is a bit small , the views of the mountains, see and people going about their day to day activities can be enjoyed by the jacuzzi aswell, staff are always happy to help and advise on where to go in town if you need something

My wife and I traveled for one week in Sicily. We stayed 4 nights at this resort and we enjoyed it immensely. It started with the check in process by Angela. She was wonderful describing all the benefits of the resort. She then smiled and said we had been upgraded to room 407. This was fantastic because this particular room was a suite with two different balconies, one facing the sea and one facing the gardens and pool. The entire ground are superbly maintained and clean. The rooms spotless, which is very important to my wife and I. The restaurant and bar staff provided great service with a smile, always willing to provide directions or recommendations. The food itself, while good was not great. Breakfast was good and a great way to start our site seeing. Be prepared to take a ten minute walk down into town. The walk back up to the resort can be challenging, but taxi's are plentiful and only 15 Euro. The resort itself is very laid back. It provided a quite get away that we were looking for. We will be back, and we highly recommend this resort.

I had never been to Sicily before so I was so careful with where I chose to book within my budget. Let's also factor in I've never driven in mainland Europe (where the road side and etiquette differs) and I didn't want to stress myself out on holiday. My partner felt the same way. So, walking distance was a factor too. Hotel Tourist is 15 minutes walk from the main town of Cefalú. Its really not too far, you can even see the Cathedral of Cefalú from the hotel and from your balcony on that side. The walk itself is a lovely stroll on a beach promenade not too far from some restaurants. We booked bed and breakfast with a balcony. We aren't the types to hang around our accommodation too long so if that's you, I highly recommend Hotel Tourist. I'm unsure if they've undergone much renovation in the past 5 years (after reading some concerning reviews) but our room was perfect, spotless clean, bathroom clean and spacious with a good shower (and water pressure). We loved the continental breakfast and looked forward to it every morning, the food was lovely and really fresh. I was loving the coffee machine (for espressos, cappuccinos, americanos etc) I want to mention a staff member called Maria who was so kind and helpful. She's a treasure. The bar was very quiet (I might have to put this down to the season, we stayed mid-May) so if you are looking for a hopping hotel bar, you might not like that. It didn't bother us, we preferred to go out regardless of that. I had a very positive experience. Again, note some of the bad reviews are old and maybe a bit unfair. Hotel Tourist is 3 star. It has a lot going for it and we would stay again. Cefalu is indeed like the pictures, absolutely stunning. One tip for prospective travellers would be to be careful on the footpaths, they are quite badly maintained and I had a tumble myself! Other than that, you won't regret booking.

What one is looking for a holiday differs greatly between folk and so I must start this review by stating that, after 18 months of challenge and stress in our lives, we were seeking complete relaxation. We read reviews of Mangia's Himera Resort and were aware that we would be quite isolated in terms of location and mobility - didn't matter - and that we were likely to be two in a very small number of Brits or English speakers - didn't matter; we just wanted to crash for two weeks in a comfortable environment and come away feeling refreshed. Mangia's Himera Resort proved to precisely fit the bill. The hotel, whilst spacious, felt compact enough that you would recognise guests and there is a good balance between indoor and outdoor spaces, in fact there are plenty of spaces in Reception, the lobby and the entertainment space for sitting and relaxing. Outdoor spaces range from courtyards, poolside seating by the bar, outdoor area to the restaurant, plenty of sunbeds, both directly next to the pool and on terraces. In addition there are more sunbeds on the lawn by the beach, by the beachside bar and on the beach itself, where there is a Life Guard on duty for most of the day, with a timetable of when the beach is supervised posted on the fence at the entrance to the beach. The pool, at first glance, doesn't seem very large, but it easily accommodated the guests who were there in May. The main pool is a single depth and, in addition, one corner is sectioned off as a children's pool, with shallow steps to each section. There are poolside showers and toilets available, and you can borrow a good quality beach towel from Reception - we paid 5 Euros each for a two week stay. The hotel has a spa - which we didn't visit - with a list of treatments available provided in the room, a small shop selling basics, swimwear, a few English language books and lots of souvenirs and postcards. There is also an office from where you can book excursions, or the hotel shuttle bus, which goes to the nearby town of Cefalu daily. You can also hire a car from an office within the hotel, not necessarily the cheapest rates, but you have the car directly from the hotel, rather than having to go to collect from Cefalu or Palermo. The Animation Team are young, multi lingual and enthusiastic. They organise activities in the pool and entertainment lounge during the day and, each evening there is either a 'show' or something like a quiz. Rooms, in common with the hotel in general, are stylish, well decorated, spotlessly clean, with chic bathrooms and plenty of storage. I found the bed in our room really uncomfortable but, on enquiring at Reception, they liaised with the wonderful Housekeeping Team, who bolstered the matress for me and, from then on, I slept well. Where the hotel really shines, and what made the holiday for us, was the food - such good quality, plenty of choice and a great restaurant vibe - we managed to eat all but two of our meals outside on the terr

My Girlfriend and I did two weeks in August. The staff were brilliant and we stayed in a Beach Bungalow which was really really nice. Could not fault the staff in the bars and restaurants who were superb. Similarly the Chefs in the Buffet restaurant and the Beach restaurant were amazing. My girlfriend has a black and white pepper allergy so we have to be extra careful, and the Chefs in the restaurants ensured that she was safe and catered for, The only thing we did not like was the Thai food restaurant in which the food was bland although we did on our second visit take chillies with us to make the food more authentic. The second restaurant the steak house was I would say average. Everything else aside from those two small negatives was 10/10. We will certainly be going again. One of the best all inclusive holidays we have ever had. Also, a small mention to the Coach Drivers who took us from the hotel to the Friday Market and also Cefalu, really great helpful people. Fantastic experience !!
