As a franchise property, Mercure Chandigarh should be held to the same high standards set by the Accor brand. I believe that the hotel could benefit from improved staff training and a re-evaluation of the buffet layout. One particular issue arose with the mini-bar menu. A beer was listed at INR 250, but when I ordered it through in-room dining, I was charged INR 325. Upon inquiry, I was informed that the housekeeping menu and in-room dining menu had different prices. This discrepancy was not only confusing but also felt unfair. Additionally, I was surprised to learn that the only beer available was warm. It's unreasonable to expect guests to wait for their drinks to chill, especially when staying at a branded hotel like Mercure. The pricing for beverages was also excessive. A Kingfisher pint was priced at INR 70, while your hotel charged INR 250-325, a significant markup. Despite my request, the staff refused to exchange the beer from the bar, which I found to be inflexible. When I refused for the beer they called back in 15 minutes after disappointing me completely and provided me the chilled beer. Furthermore, the room size was smaller than expected, and the breakfast buffet lacked variety. I believe that other budget-friendly hotels in Chandigarh could offer a better overall experience. I WILL NEVER VISIT AGAIN AT MERCURE CHANDIGARH.
