This time I went to Chengdu to participate in the marathon. I originally booked a hotel other than theirs (I must first mention the previous hotel), but the Crescent View Hotel, from October 25th to 28th, 4 days and 3 nights. This hotel is really the worst!
I booked my flight in September. Because I had a flight at 9pm, I called the hotel before booking to ask if I could check in if I arrived at midnight on the 25th. They told me I could. Then I bought a ticket for 9am on the 24th. I called again to confirm before leaving on the afternoon of the 24th. But no one at the front desk knew about it. They said that the hotel had no rooms that day and I would definitely not be able to stay there (this reply came after I actively urged them to call several times). They also asked me to produce evidence to prove that I did make the call (like I was making a fuss for no reason). Then I asked their manager to call me back. The manager said, ”I told you, there are no rooms. Even if there are rooms, you can't pay an extra night's room fee.” I told her that since I was going to Chengdu, I couldn't afford to pay for one night's room fee. But you didn't tell me how to operate if there were no rooms in the hotel. When I called in September, you told me that I could stay there if I arrived at midnight, but you didn't tell me how to calculate the room fee if I arrived at midnight.
The point is! Her tone of scolding was like I was her subordinate, because in the previous phone calls, they denied the facts and asked me to produce evidence. I recorded the phone call with this manager. She said very arrogantly, ”Go and complain, it's up to you. Please avoid the Crescent Moon Hotel. The manager is called *** and the front desk is called ** (probably a name to deceive me). Then I called Ctrip. Ctrip investigated the time when I booked the ticket. I did call and ask on the same day, and confirmed with the hotel. They also found the person involved, but the hotel still let it go. There was no apology and no solution! At that time, my impression of Chengdu really became very bad because of this hotel. Later, at the suggestion of Ctrip, I stayed in the Heyi Zhige Hotel, which was also very close to the starting point of the marathon. At first, I was a little worried when I read the reviews. At 1 a.m., many people just arrived at the airport. The hotel was very considerate to call and ask when they would arrive. After arriving at the hotel, they knew that I was running a marathon and gave me a very cute panda. To be honest, I have gone out to run marathons many times and stayed in many hotels. No hotel has prepared gifts for runners. I was really touched at that time! I originally booked 4 days and 3 nights, and later extended it for another day. The cleaning lady was also very enthusiastic. My mother was in the hotel on the day of the horse race, and the aunt took the initiative to ask if she wanted to come clean. The service attitude is amazing! No comparison, no harm. Don't just look at the hotel environment. I can't imagine if there was no previous incident, I would have stayed in Crescent View. What's the problem? They took out that kind of bad attitude and said, ”You can stay if you want to, or not. If you come out to play, won't you be pissed off?” Final summary:
1. Although the decoration of Heyi Zhige Hotel is old-fashioned, the room is really big and there are many places to put things;
2. Both the front desk and the aunt are very enthusiastic. Only then did I realize that Chengdu people are really hospitable and speak softly.
3. Safety issues: There are old-fashioned locks in the guest rooms. I also have this kind of locks at home. They are very firm when hung up, so people feel very safe.
4. Transportation is very convenient. You can take the subway after walking 600 meters. There is a bus next to the door. I recommend taking bus No. 64 to eat Pu Gai Noodles, and then take the Chunxi direct bus there to see the giant pandas, or walk to Wenshu Temple from Pu Gai Noodles. It is very convenient. There is a Walmart next to it to buy specialties, which can also be mailed home.
Finally, I would like to say that the Crescent Moon Haojing is a lightning-proof view! I will come to Chengdu again. If I come, I will still live here! See you at the Chengdu Marathon in 2025!
