A 5 stars boutique hotel located in old town, very convinence👍 Right in front is the walking street/ open market on Sunday. There is a school opposite to the hotel. Its rather noisy in the morning as my room is facing to the school, however trouist like us usually wake up early so no big deal. All snackssss/drinksss in the mini bar are free👍👍 includes cokes, beers, 6 bottles of water, lemon tea, chipsss, chocolate. 😅 😁 Afternoon tea by the pool is free too! Very good for those who want to relax in the hotel Staffs are very friendly👍👍

A very good experience. You have to call before checking in and the owner will give you a key. The owner's sister is very nice. The only bad thing is that the site is isolated and there will be construction starting at 7:30 in the morning. If you are a person who wakes up easily, there will be construction. I’m in love with this place. Really convenient location and, walking into the property, you feel like you’re in another world. It’s a gorgeous and peaceful place. I have never stayed anywhere with such thoughtful attention to detail. For example: they gave me a “welcome back” cake as well as a hand-written note on my most recent visit which was impressive considering my last stay was almost 4 years ago! Upon checkout, they prepared a little sandwich for me for the taxi ride to Pai (which they also facilitated). The afternoon tea is delightful as is the breakfast and lunch/dinner options. Everyone is so lovely and helpful and kind. I feel truly taken care of when I’m here and am looking forward to my next visit.

Arriving here after a long travel day was like seeing an oasis, the large white gates and hotel staff greeted us - taking our bags and directing us where to sign in - all in a very quiet setting (the hotel is always quiet - very little outside noises and staff/guests are considerate of the peaceful atmosphere). Extremely clean, pool was relaxing and refreshing. The grounds was like walking amongst a museum with lighting at night. We had a suite for 4 of us - two master bedrooms joined by a large comfortable living room and a private covered deck where we spent much time reading, sleeping, catching up on our jet lagged bodies. The location is at the heart of many temples and in old city, foot rubs, places to eat, and a wonderful laundry lady across the street who had our clothes cleaner than we've ever had them in 24 hours. The restaurant was elegant, quiet, dinner was accompanied by local live music which was just the right volume. When we return, we will stay here again.

We spent a few days in August in this hotel and the truth is that it was excellent value for money. The friendly and decisive staff. Location in the square of Chiang Mai, totally central. On the other hand, the room was cozy, and the pool, although logical because we are in Thailand in the north, there were a lot of mosquitoes, it was clean and the same as the room, cozy and clean. Stopped here a few times, mainly because my Thai in-laws love the place, only because it is so close to the airport. Every visit something was wrong!! Not exactly the cheapest accommodation either.The toilet would not flush in one room, the taps at the bathroom sink turned with the handles in another room. We could not sleep because of the road noise (we were on the 5th floor!) in another room. The wi-fi was non-existent in one room.There was no hot water in another room. Every room the shower trays filled up with soapy water and was very slippery; dangerous in fact. The breakfast was OK for me, nothing flash. Toast, jam, juice, tea, coffee, milo, all the basics. Not real sure why people were climbing through the window to get here though. One lady I saw scraped all the brown off her toast, so that is was just white!!?? (Something to do with Thais believing that toast causes cancer I was told). Loved the sign beside the toaster that actually worked (the other one was broken on every visit and was just sitting there collecting dust). No cancer from that one! Words to this effect: ”Please do not put butter and jam on bread before placing in toaster.” At least the beer from reception 'fridge was cheaper than most shops. Nice and cold too. Gotta love it!

I arrived to the hotel and on the outside it looked really nice, and the staff was very nice. The girl who checked me in thow wasn't that great to understand english, so I was lucky to speak some thai. The didn't help you with your bags up to the room, but I didn't mind because I travel with good working bags that has wheels. When I came in the room the first thing that hit me was a bad smell from the toilet. (I was given a room on the top floor 608 to be precise. The size of the room was ok, but the furniture I could see how dirty and worn down rhey where. It looked like something the bought on a fleemarket. Further on I tried the bed it was the worst matress I have ever slept on, not only that the hotel is next to a road and at night it was so noicy from traffic so I didn't get much sleep. Sometimes I woke up and thought I had a motorbike in my room. I had booked a stay for 5 nights, but after 1 night I decided to move. So after one more painful night I checked out from this hotel and will NEVER return again.

Walk to the left at the intersection and you will find the night market, which also has a 711. There is another 711 100 meters to the right. We rented a motorcycle and parked it in the wrong place. The Chinese boss helped us negotiate with the police and drove us to the police station to deal with it. Without his help, we didn't know what to do. Thank you!

We stayed at the Makkachiva for 7 nights and we had a great time. Every single member of staff was a star but I must give a special mention to Phueng who took care of us at breakfast each morning. Her smiley face and incredible service was a joy, thank you Phueng. We had a 4th floor room overlooking the street which was great, being able to watch the sun set each evening. The hotel also has an AMAZING collection of Thai art adorning every wall, there are many incredible pieces. We had the joy of being here at Songkran and the staff gave us a special welcome home that day. The hotel doesn't have a pool but for 200 Baht each we got a day ticket to Chimes around the corner. If you are looking for a hotel that's central to old town Chiang Mai that is beautiful, comfortable and has great staff I recommend the Makkachiva.

I checked in at the Water Lantern Festival last year, because the last one was fully booked on the last day, so I ordered the one next to him. My plane took off the next morning early so I prepare return the motorcycle that day night. But the motorcycle store closed when I arrived because of the heavy rain, and I could not wait for the store open next morning because of the plane. I had no way to get my deposit back. At the moment I asked the boss of the hotel for help, and she and her son were very helpful, they had overcome many difficulties and done a lot of work and took my deposit back in the end. They are kind, responsible and enthusiastic. So if you have chance to go to Chiang Mai, please have a good night in this hotel--Namamema. It near by the Wat Chedi Luang, it is very convenient. I stayed at this hotel in October 2019. This year, I chose this hotel after choosing from various platforms. I saw the calico cat again, super cute. The courtyard is decorated very freshly, with many green plants, flowers and decorations. The room is more Thai-style and has a fragrant smell. The proprietress was super nice, she greeted us warmly every time we met, and even took the initiative to take us to the airport on the last day. There is also a store clerk who greets us with a smile every time, feeds us cat bars and dog snacks, and has a great time playing with cats and dogs. You can book breakfast one day in advance. It's very cheap and about the same price as outside. When I come back from playing every day, the room will be tidy, the clothes on the bed will be folded, the data cables will be neatly tied, and the clothes racks outside will be moved to let the clothes shine in the sun. Chiang Mai is really great, the cafes are always the same every day, they are affordable, and the people are very welcoming. I really want to go there again!

Nice homestay with three beds in the room. The location is excellent, right next to the Qidilong Temple, in the middle of the ancient city, easy to go anywhere.
