Ashi Hostel

Night Bazaar Area Chiang Mai|0.08km from Wat Ou Sai Kham
A quiet hostel with good facilities, free towel and toiletries (except toothpaste) and free WiFi. Stayed in a twin room with a big bunk bed with big comfortable beds and good working aircon plus a fan. Quick check in, lots of tour brochures available in reception and the host was very eager to help us and offered to book tours for us. He also gave us a free city map and showed us directions on the map to various places. Hostel very close to Tha Phae Gate and lots of great night markets - all within easy walking distance. One minute walk from away from two main roads with lots of shops, restaurants, massage parlors, hairdresser and 711. Hostel was within range for free pick up and drop off for the tours I booked so this was an added bonus. Breakfast doesn’t seem to be served here but this isn’t a problem as there’s a coffee shop right next door that does as well as plenty on the main roads close by. Also this probably helps to keep the hostel so nice and clean! All in all a good place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet or just a comfortable bed to sleep. We were out early each day and only returned after 10pm. Also although we had shared bathrooms, they were always free when we needed them in the morning and evening and were always clean! The photo I posted of the room doesn’t do it justice as the room was much better than it looks in my photo / the room was very spacious and there were four lockers in the room even though the room is only for two people.

Chiang Mai Ancient City
Hotel a bit dated could do with a revamp. Breakfast bit limited. Pool very small and cold. Location not bad from main night bazaar.

Fantastic hospitality. The staff have helped us with all our trips whilst in Chiangmai. Super friendly. Clean hostel. Lobby is super super chill. Also amazing lovely cat! Area is great also, lots of nice cafes, bar and shops to get any all essentials. Would definitely recommend.
Changmoi House (Little Village)

Good points : great location (walking distance from the old town and near lots of great bars and places to eat), nice, friendly staff and quirky decor. Negative points : room lacking some basic facilities (which would be really easy to add). There was nowhere to put your clothes, except 4 wall hooks. We were there 8 days so would have really liked to have been able to unpack a bit. No mirror or dressing table area in the bedroom. The kettle plug didn’t reach a power socket from any of the surfaces, so I had to hold it while it boiled. There were quite a few holes in the bed linen and towels (pictures attached). The room was really clean when we checked in but wasn’t cleaned that well once we were there (especially the bathroom and shower plug area which got blocked and wouldn’t drain properly) We had to complain about the cleanliness and, fair pay to the staff, they did rectify this straight away. Note - we stayed in one of the double, upstairs rooms with a balcony, it’s got light blue decor. Overall, this could be a great place if a little more thought and ‘love’ was put into it.

The decoration of the room is very local and Nalan style. There are many flowers and plants on the balcony on the second floor, which is very beautiful. There is a temple next to it, you can see it at a glance, and it feels quiet. The boss is very enthusiastic. He personally helped me carry my luggage when I left, and waved goodbye to me. I was very impressed. Although the check-in time is not much, it feels like a family, and the check-in experience is very good.

My experience at Amora Thapae was nothing short of extraordinary. The seamless check-in process, combined with the attentive service, truly defined five-star hospitality. The room exuded elegance and comfort, providing a haven of relaxation. The amenities were top-notch, and the attention to detail by the staff was impeccable. Dining at the hotel surpassed expectations, offering a delightful culinary journey. The central location further added to the convenience, making it a perfect choice for both leisure and business travelers. In summary, Amora Thapae not only met but exceeded my expectations for a 5-star stay, creating lasting memories of luxury and excellence.
