Baanmalai Hotel Chiangrai Reviews

Very good, clean and have simple breakfast. About 8 mins can walk to Chiang Rai night market.

I like to stay in this hotel every time I go to Chiang Rai. It has a simple free breakfast. The rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors all have balconies and are located close to 711, bus station and night market. It’s not far away, the boss is warm and hospitable, and the price-performance ratio is very high!

This is my go-to place when I stay in Chiang Rai. It's convenient because it's in the city center. In the morning, the standard *yakitori, toast, orange juice, and coffee are cooked and served by Meban, so you can relax surrounded by trees. The facilities are a little old, but they are well maintained and the beds are firm, so you can sleep well.

The location is very good, a few hundred meters away from the night market and the long-distance bus station, and the hotel service is also good

The boss is very nice and enthusiastic. The hotel is decent and there is free light meal (breakfast). I hope the boss will do better and better!

J’étais déjà venu dans cet hôtel quelques jours auparavant et je suis revenu car j’ai vraiment bien aimé le service proposé et la qualité de la chambre. Je recommande à nouveau !

We have stayed here many times over the past few years & have been more than happy. However I made a reservation in January for February, all was confirmed but on arrival our room had not been booked in, it was a Friday & apparently the week end was full. My wife & I are 79 years of age & active but we could not walk all over Chiang Rai looking for another room so we accepted an offer from the Owners of a small box room off the dining area. This was not really satisfactory but we had little choice. I am not writing this review to downgrade the Guest House but just to make people aware that if making a booking at the week end, double check & make sure that they have entered your reservation.

Hiden gem, close to bus station, very clean, great management, big room with a balcony, good internet and a bonus breakfast. New towels and water was left at your door every day. I said breakfast was a bonus because it was not mentioned at the bookings but they provide a very good coffee, and made eggs for you.

This is a basic hotel with basic rooms and a basic breakfast, all of which was fine for this level of hotel (B600/night for a room with a balcony). What I liked most about this place was that it was quite near downtown and the bus station, yet on a quiet soi.
