It feels good to smoke and drink on the balcony and back garden. Although the manor is close to the road, it is very quiet, the bedding is clean, and the kitchen facilities are complete. Worth recommending👍

We had a lovely room in the manor, everything was very clean and comfortable. The location was great, within walking distance to restaurants/cafes and a supermarket. Karen and Wayne were very accomodating and gave us great recommendations. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely managers and owners who couldn't do enough to help and responded promptly to every query. I drink plunge coffee and a coffee pot materialized complete with a bag of coffee to save me going out and purchasing. The rooms are spotless and roomy and there is even a cooking hob to prepare light meals. Loved being able to wash and dry without having to worry about coins. .. just added to account during checkout. The Manor house is fabulous as Karen kindly took me on a conducted tour and will certainly be an option next stay. A great central location within walking distance to Merivale Mall and the excellent deli at Fresh Choice. I enjoyed the warmth of the welcome and the personalized touches. Even fresh Daphne in a bud vase on the table! Thankyou so much for what could have been a very stressful time looking after my 90 year old mum. Merivale Manor was a sanctuary to return to at the end of very stressful days. Loved every minute.

I stayed at Merivale Manor for 1 night in June 24. Delighted to be greated by name when I arrived plus found the heating for my mid-morning arrival was not only on in the lounge but also the bedroom. So very thoughtful. The ground floor apartment was at the back of the manor & very quiet. The bed was superb & so comfortable. Excellent bedding & extra warm on a very cold winter’s night. The bathroom was in excellent condition but ‘small’ - perfect for 1 person using it. The towels were lovely & soft – luxury. I did not cook or use the kitchen at all. I so enjoyed my stay & next time I need accommodation in Christchurch I would definitely stay here again. Wonderful hosts.

We have stayed at Merivale Manor on several occasions. Gin and Phil go out ot their way to make you feel welcome. Nothing is a problem, their local knowledge of activities, eateries, shopping etc is always welcomed. A great place to stay. The apartments are ideal for families or groups. The rooms are very comfortable, meticulously clean and quiet. Conveniently close to the airport, hospital, city centre and with a bus stop at the front gate, makes the location perfect The wonderful shopping and resturants/ bars that Merivale has to offer is only a 2 min walk away. We will definitely return.

Our flight from Melbourne was cancelled and we eventually arrived late at night. Our room key was waiting for us, and there was milk in the fridge. We had a very warm welcome in the morning. Merivale is conveniently located for Central Christchurch. We stayed 2 nights at the start of our NZ tour.

Convenient location. Quiet, but we were in the manor. Staff were friendly and very nice and helpful. Continental breakfast generous. Lots of different fruit. Room was clean. Plenty of towels, wash cloths and very willing to replenish. Overall good stay!

Phil and Gin were fabulous hosts, and the rooms couldn’t have been nicer. They were sparkling clean, well stocked with high quality bedding and towels, modern tiled bathrooms, and a great espresso machine with plenty of coffee pods. There was even milk in the fridge. We stayed 3 nights at the beginning of our stay in South Island and 1 night on the back end, and both times our booked room was upgraded. The location is easy 20 minutes walking distance to the shops and restaurants around Cathedral Square. There is a fabulous breakfast place, Truffle, right across the street and an equally lovely dinner restaurant, Tutto Bene, just 400 meters away. One day we took the bus, which goes right by the front door, and it was so easy to navigate. To top it off, there were always fresh chocolates by the bed each night. Merivale Manor is highly recommended.

Exceptionally helpful and friendly hosts. Have some rooms in the main manor and two additional buildings with modern rooms. We stayed in one of the additional buildings and our room was very comfortable. Close to restaurants and shopping.

There’s lots of competition for travellers in Merivale just on the northern fringe of the city. Recommend this highly. Nice blend of apartments including very well appointed modern 3 bedroom’ers. The management team and staff were highly professional and engaging, great ambassadors for the city. Special thanks to manager Phil, perfect host

This was our second stay at Merivale Manor. It's a beautiful colonial building very well situated on Papanui Rd, within walking distance to Merivale shops and restaurants, and just a few minutes by car from anywhere in central Christchurch. The rooms have everything you'd want, including large and comfortable beds. Staff could not be more welcoming. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Christchurch.

We stayed at the Merivale Manor before and after a trekking tour. Gin and Phil went WAY out of their way to make sure we were happy …..including driving a converter and charging brick out to the airport after we left them in our room! The manor is lovely… quiet and comfortable. We were in the peacock suite and had everything we needed. The Manor is close to terrific restaurants and within walking distance to the botanical gardens and performance venues. Cute coffee/cafe across the street made breakfast a breeze. Cannot stress enough how great this place was. Stay here!!
