I am writing this review from the hotel lobby at 12:11am. I dropped my bags off at 2pm and was given a luggage tag and told my room would be ready shortly. I was told I would be called when my room was ready. It was confirmed and there was no question that I was here and ready to check in. I went on with my planned activities including my dinner plans and now coming back to the hotel have been told they have no room for me. I have never ever had such an experience. They have offered to relocate me to a hotel outside If Cincinnati. This was a quick vacation trip totally ruined by this hotel experience. Under no circumstances will I ever book this hotel chain again. They massively overbooked and have relocated many guests. I have been told on the side by a sympathetic employee that this is standard procedure. NEVER BOOK 21C!!!

The location of the hotel was difficult to get around without a vehicle, but if you go up along the riverside Samjang-ro, you can get a beautiful view of the sunset. The facilities of the hotel were excellent, but it was regrettable that there were restrictions on facilities due to coronavirus. There are many restaurants and fast food restaurants around, but there are no interesting entertainment options.

Room: Overall it’s okay and the location is pretty good
Parking: Paid parking, slightly expensive
Meal: OK, delivered to the room
Overall environment: It seems like this is some kind of center. The environment is very noisy, with people coming and going. Sometimes there are parties late at night and until one or two in the morning.

It was nice to have a spacious living room and kitchen.
It's quiet around, but it's good to shop around the commercial area.
I recommend it.

Outstanding
RRCute decor. Prime location but basically no amenities. The gym and laundry are like micro rooms and it feels like people live there. The hotel has a strange aroma and smells like a nursing home. Also they don’t have room service, water bottles inside the room, and no vending machines for snacks or beverages. So if you’re hungry or thirsty in the middle of the night you’re on your own.
GGuest UserThis was my first time at The Residence Inn/The Phelps and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. My room was clean and fresh and had a lovely view of the Great American tower. Excellent service from all I encountered; Kat, Kathleen Styers, Mikayla Austin and Frances Lawton. Also, the valet (unfortunately I do not know his name) was friendly and attentive. Looking forward to returning here in the future.
GGuest UserNot sure why you would plop down a nice new hotel and put in air conditioners that sound like planes taking off. And it wasn’t just one room - it was both rooms of the suite, so I’m guessing that it was the same throughout the hotel. I was only able to sleep by wearing earplugs every night. It’s nice that the bedroom has a ceiling fan but the remote control didn’t work and when we called the desk to ask about it they said that it was impossible to have the light off and fan on at the same time. It’s either both on or both off. I suspect the person at the desk didn’t actually know what she was talking about but I never followed up. Rooms were certainly big enough, though not enormous. Bathrooms were functional. Breakfast was good, with some different options every morning. Pool looked very basic, workout room was ok but the floor was sticky and the laundry room did the job. As far as location goes that depends upon what you’re looking for. I wanted a hotel between downtown and the tennis center and that’s what I got. I wouldn’t typically want a hotel like this that is sitting in the middle of a mall, surrounded by chain restaurants, with nowhere interesting to walk, but many people might like this. I really only care about one thing in a hotel and that’s that it’s quiet enough to sleep and because of the air conditioning this hotel failed. I’d probably give it 2.5 stars if that were an option.
GGuest UserFront desk staff extremely friendly and helpful! Needed a place for my out-of-state 19yo college student to sleep for a few nights. Marriott hotels wouldn’t budge on their 21yo min age rule. Hilton employees easily mentioned an addon feature for room reservations that allowed my daughter to checkin without incident. Hotel was clean and on-site restaurant was an added bonus. Will most definitely stay at this hotel again!! Thank you……from a Mom of an out-of-state college kid!!
GGuest UserWe stayed here three nights in October. Extremely clean, well-managed facility, recent complete upgrade of all interior spaces. Staff -- from front desk, to bartender, to housekeeping -- are extremely customer-focused, professional, and friendly. Accommodations are quite comfortable -- on par with Marriott's Courtyard brand. An extremely good value. Very surprised it wasn't more crowded.
WWEIMINVery good hotel, the room is large, clean, the staff is very friendly, the night is very quiet, the breakfast variety is good, the taste is good, there is a self-service washing machine on the first floor, you can dry clothes. There is a supermarket not far from the door, walking is easy, taxi is also very convenient. I took my child to the university for an interview and stayed for ten days. I will stay here next time.
DD HAt first appearance driving up was nice and inviting with a nice covered front porch with tables and chairs. Then you notice on both ends the groups of people smoking off it next to the no smoking signs. We pull up into the space reserved for “gold and platinum members”, which we are platinum members, which has been a nice perk a many Choice Hotels. As we get out to unload, we discover that, it’s located in a weird handicap marked space. It’s only marked on the ground, not by a sign. The only sign is the Choice sign. (see photo) How confusing is this? So, we finish loading and decide to move the car just to make sure we do not get towed. As we were walking up, we notice the floors above, the vending room, the lights on both the 2nd and 3rd floors, as just flickering and strobing and the rooms look like they are in disrepair. While walking by the porch and the non-smoking sign where all of the smokers were smoking, we notice that the ground all around is just littered with cigarette butts and reeked of smoke. It was disgusting and just showed a complete lack of disregard of upkeep of the grounds and building. (see photo) Our check-in was friendly and helpful. However, we didn’t receive our free “gift” like we were supposed to and when we asked about the “hot breakfast” that was advertised on the sign outside, we were told that there wasn’t a hot breakfast anymore that they just haven’t removed the sign. They would provide coffee and to-go bags in the morning. The shower water pressure was good but the hot and cold were reserved. The large bathroom counter was nice to have for a change. The elevator was very slow and in need of some TLC such as some paint and upkeep. The paint and walls around the elevator are beat up. Most employees were not wearing masks. At breakfast there were no to go bags available and there was no coffee. About 8:30 there was some lukewarm coffee and no one around to tend to it. When we were checking out, we mentioned it and they said that would make another pot, but we were leaving so that was pointless and said nothing about the bags. Overall, this was a clean, comfortable room to stay in. We would stay here again if in the area. I would hope that management would clean up the area and make things more presentable.
GGuest UserThe staff is great: warm and friendly. The hotel was clean and felt safe inside. The bed was pretty comfortable. The AC worked. The condition of the hotel was not great. There were big holes in the carpet; ugly caulk around the toilet; the tub was stained from water drips; the bathroom fan was loud (although effective). There was a portion of a cloth bathmat in front of the ice machine in the hall - not even a full one, but part of one with a frayed edge. My room faced the interstate and it was really loud. This is the kind of place to stay if you really need a reasonable rate and aren't going to spend much time in your room.
GGuest UserI requested a non-smoking room, but the room smelled like a combination of cigarette smoke and air freshener. When I walked around the room barefoot, I noticed dirt sticking to my feet. I love the walk in shower. The A/C worked well.
