"This guesthouse is located right by the Duoyishu Rice Terraces, offering direct views of the sunrise and morning mist from the rooms. The service was great, and the restaurant was good too – I highly recommend the 'Zhanshui Chicken'. We were lucky enough to catch both the sunrise and the sea of clouds. Aichunlan, just a few kilometers from the guesthouse, was also lovely. We happened to visit during the Hani ethnic group's 'Xiao Nian' (Minor New Year) and even saw the owner's family catching rice paddy fish. The only downside was having to skip the sunset at Daba due to our itinerary. I'll definitely come back if I get the chance!"

"The hotel is okay, but the location is a bit remote. If you don't drive, choose carefully; taxis are rarely used. Self-driving travelers should still be able to use it. The front desk service was average, and they didn't help with any of our questions. We tried to get a taxi to another rice terrace, but she said there wasn't anything available. When we asked her what fun things to do, she said there wasn't much. It wasn't much service, really. The driver who dropped us off at the station was very nice, though."

"The view is just as beautiful as it looks, and location wise it is ideal. The room was clean and stunning views. The food was good when it was available, but many of the options on the menu were not available. Likewise, there was no water in the outdoor pool as advertised. The staff also said they didn’t know how to make cocktails, despite having a bar with all spirits available. Finally, I would recommend AGAINST booking a car transit through the hotel. We ended up missing our train from Kunming because the driver (and her friend, who was brought along for the ride) stopped multiple times, including for long snack breaks, so we arrived 20 minutes after our train time."

"Highly recommended! The Hani people are incredibly warm and genuine. It was pouring rain when we arrived, so we called the owner's wife, and she came out in the rain to pick us up and helped with our luggage. The parking lot is a bit of a walk from the guesthouse, so we couldn't roll our suitcases. **Service:** Both hosts were incredibly welcoming. The owner's wife was particularly amazing; she effortlessly hoisted our large suitcase onto her back without a moment's hesitation – such an efficient and strong woman! Locals here often use traditional bamboo baskets for carrying goods, which was interesting to see. **Cleanliness:** The guesthouse was decently clean; I didn't spot any visible stains. The houses here all feature unique mushroom-shaped roofs, which was exactly why I picked this place – I really wanted to experience staying in one! There's a viewing terrace on the rooftop, but unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating, so we couldn't enjoy the distant views. **Ambiance:** Perhaps because of the rain, the room felt a bit damp and chilly. We didn't need to turn on the air conditioning as it wasn't hot. We booked a twin room, and the lighting inside was a bit dim, with only one small lamp, which wasn't bright enough. It would be much better if they added more warm and soft lighting. **Ethnic Costume Experience:** They offer a selection of beautiful local ethnic costumes. When we visited the Shengcun market, we saw many stalls selling fabrics, and locals still wear their traditional attire – it's truly beautiful! Their cultural confidence is clearly visible. **Facilities:** The guesthouse also has a restaurant, and we ended up eating all our meals there during our two-day stay. We tried unique dishes like tree blossoms and red rice noodles, which I'd never had before – absolutely delicious and perfectly suited my taste! The prices were reasonable, especially considering how inconvenient it is to get supplies deep in the mountains. I'd love to have those red rice noodles again! It rained and was very foggy both days of our visit, transforming the terraces into beautiful, misty landscapes. Although it wasn't the irrigation season, the summer terraces had their own distinct charm. Thank you to the hosts for their incredibly warm hospitality. I will definitely be back to Yuanyang Terraced Fields!"

"Jacky’s guesthouse was fantastic. As mentioned by previous visitors, Jacky is incredibly friendly and helpful, and has great tips for where to go in the area for sunrise, sunset, hikes, and food. The guesthouse is simple but lovely, our room was large enough for two, and the coffee is really nice! I would love to return to this area in a different season to enjoy the terraced rice fields again."

"1. Kindness The owner is so kind. It's been 10 years since I've been on a solo trip, so I had a lot of questions, but he always answered them with detailed information and took care of everything. For example, when I rented a car to visit other rice terraces, he checked with me via WeChat to see if I was back at the hotel in case I missed the ride. He was also a great help on my trip to Kunming. He gave me a welcome drink and fruit, and a gift of rice upon checkout. 🙏🏻 2. View You can see the Yuanyang Daoyi trees from your room. This is a huge plus, to say the least. You can also see them from the hotel's rooftop terrace. Honestly, even on a foggy day, it was beautiful and charming. 🏞️ 3. Breakfast The breakfast is absolutely delicious. It's rice noodles... I've never had breakfast at a hotel in Yunnan as good as this one. And the lady at the restaurant, who seems to be a Hani, is incredibly kind and constantly checks on me. I brought breakfast to my room and ate it while enjoying the view. 🍜 Although the travel time to Yuanyang was a bit long, it was the best part of my trip to Yunnan. I want to commend myself for booking this accommodation."

"When I arrived at the homestay chosen at will by Yuanyang Terraces, it was a pleasant surprise, clean and comfortable, the scenery outside the window was really bright, and the boss was enthusiastic and patient. The red rice noodles for breakfast, a lot of meat, and fried poached eggs... Thank you very much. The ancient village of Azheke recommended by the boss and the Hadanpu Observation Deck are unexpectedly received! !"

"This hotel is in a great location. You can watch the sunset from the hotel if you don't want to go to the viewing platform. We stayed in branch 1, and branches 2 and 3 have better locations. If you come to Yuanyang Rice Terraces, you must see whether the Tiangong is beautiful or not. It's only a 20-minute walk to the cliff terrace viewing platform. If you drive, parking is right at the door, and there's food across the street. Overall, it's great!"

"The hotel is well located if you are coming from Jianshui. It's a 2h30 drive approximately from Jianshui railway station if you take the express highway. From the hotel you can visit Yuanyang terraced fields with a private driver if you can't drive. We had a warm welcome and the staff was really helpful. They gave us advice on things to do, the best way to visit, the time that we needed... The food at the hotel was awesome. We really like to eat spicy food so we were thrilled with every dish they served us. I would definitely recommand this place."
