The location is good, the breakfast is particularly rich, the smoked salmon is both fresh and the croissants and quiche are very delicious. Hotel Wi-Fi is also good and the front desk service is welcoming.

The minute we entered the hotel, we were warmly greeted at the reception desk by Samuel, who efficiently checked us. He then kindly offered information about the hotel amenities and directions to Executive Lounge, the sauna, and where breakfast would be served. We enjoyed the delicious meals and relaxing sauna very much. My left leg started to hurt later and the next morning my husband and I decided it was time to get medical care. Again, it was Samuel to the rescue. He got us an appointment with a orthopedic specialist who spoke English for an hour and a half later! Samuel then got us a taxi and soon we were at the clinic. The Mehilainen Form Clinic (a medical provider with BCBS Global) provided exceptional service, and was super clean. After an exam by the orthopedic specialist, Dr. Tuomas, then a sonogram of the leg by Dr. Juhani, the condition was diagnosed and Rx ordered from a nearby pharmacy. Upon our return to the hotel, Samuel continued to show concern by offering a wheelchair and getting us a cab to the airport in a snowstorm. An amazingly beautiful experience at Hilton Strand Hotel in Helsinki, Finland.

It was easily accessible from tram line 3, and it was a perfect location for sightseeing in the city as it was about a block away from the nearest stop. There are several restaurants and cafes nearby, so you don't have to worry about eating near the hotel. A supermarket is also nearby. I arrived at around 8:00 to leave my luggage for the time being because I had an early morning flight, but they prepared my room right away. The receptionists are very kind. The rooms are very clean. I stayed on December 14th, but there was already a lot of snow outside and the temperature was -7°C even during the day. The room was warm and comfortable with a panel heater. I think it's hot at night. I was able to rest quietly at night because it does not face the main street or the tram road. Breakfast is simple and sufficient. There were breads, yogurts, cinnamon rolls, flakes, salads, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit and more. I would like to use it again next time.

The location is great, it is the most lively location in Helsinki, just a few hundred meters away from the lv store. We can see the church in the attic sky room, and there are seagulls flying from the window from time to time. Opposite the hotel is a small park. It was also seen that there was a wedding there, and it was a small church with a green top. The last picture is the street where the hotel is located, and the green top is the church that is next to it. On the top of the bed and on the top of the shower room are clear glass, you can see the blue sky is super like. When you are lying in bed or going to the bathroom, you can see the church outside the window. The facilities are very smart. The skylights on the top of the bed have electric curtains. Don't worry that the transparent top is too bright. I really like this small Nordic loft. It’s really a small but complete sparrow. The hotel front desk lady is very enthusiastic. The whole hotel feels very good, the breakfast waiter is very warm, but we only stayed for one night on Friday, because it was full on Saturday night, if I stayed here next time.

The location of the hotel is very good, from the terminal and the train station are more convenient. Because we took the night train from Rovaniemi to Helsinki, we arrived at the hotel around 10 o'clock in the morning and wanted to leave our luggage and go out, but we didn't expect the hotel to directly check in for us.

The hotel is new, and the rooms are well-designed, though they are rather small. However, breakfast was a nightmare with too many people and too few seats, forcing some to eat outside where birds harassed diners. Additionally, a specific downside is the lack of an indoor storage room for bikes, requiring me to leave my two-wheeler outside unguarded. Overall, it was an okay visit, but I will likely choose another location next time.

I stayed there for a couple of nights in July. I really liked it. Took the train from the airport to the central station and it is literally around the corner. I’m not that familiar with the prices in Finland, but I know it can be expensive. It was about $100 USD a night. Clean rooms, good breakfast and friendly front desk who were nice enough to speak English with me. The hotel seemed pretty empty but it is large so that may be part of it. The large empty halls had a feeling of the “Shining” which I really liked, but let’s be honest. Finland is kind of spooky anyway - in a good way.

Although the hotel is a bit old, the location is good. The front desk staff was very friendly and helped us take photos. The breakfast buffet is rich in variety and delicious, especially the venison meatballs with cranberry sauce. Will choose to stay here if given the chance.

This place hands down is an absolutely unique experience on its own, to voluntarily stay in a prison haha. The staff was extremely personable, knowledgeable and helpful with any requests we had. We were staying there to celebrate New Year's Eve and they recommend it lots of great places to go. The hotel/ prison itself was amazing just to be in. The restaurant downstairs had exceptional food for dinner and breakfast. Will definitely stay longer on our next vacation. The hotel is within walking distance to the center of the city as well as the Capitol building. The location is perfect if you want to celebrate New Year's Eve festivities which are held in the plaza outside of the Capitol building. Unforgettable time!

Given that accommodation in Helsinki comes at a price, the Scandic Kallio represents decent value for money for a city break in this intriguing city. With a stop for four tram lines outside the hotel, it is easily accessible on arrival from the ferry port and railway station, and other parts of the city. Staff on reception were friendly, welcoming and efficient. Our room provided a comfortable bed with all necessary furnishings even if the bathroom and shower facilities were limited for space. The highlight was the excellent buffet breakfast which provided a wide range of cooked and cold items to suit all tastes. Within walking range of the hotel are a variety of bars and restaurants, with the Asian style establishments providing the best value.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located very close to the central station with many restaurants and cafes in the surroundings. The facilities are very new and clean. However the rooms are not quite like the pictures, the standard double room we booked is so small that we can only open one luggage at a time and we ended upgrading to another room type. It's not a big difference in terms of money but we feel scammed and the perception isn't great. Another thing when we tried to use the sauna their staff told us we needed to pay for it and book a session in advance (at least two hours in advance I believe), which no one mentioned before not even when we check-in nor printed anywhere in the hotel. Overall the hardware is og high quality and I'm quite happy with it, however, the software in terms of service and communication has plenty of room to grow.

HheidiOverall, my recent stay with Bob W was disappointing. I booked the 4-person penthouse room primarily for the use of the sauna on my last day of the trip. Firstly, pin code provided was only valid for door access to the stairs, not door to the elevator side at night. This became a significant inconvenience, especially for a female traveler like myself who arrived at night after a tiring flight. Having to carry a 20kg luggage and a 10kg carry-on up five flights of stairs was both physically demanding and frustrating. Clear arrangements on how to access the elevator at night should have been considered for guest. Secondly, check-in process was not clearly communicated, causing panic upon arrival. Unfortunately, I had to seek help from customer service on a third-party booking site and reach out via email to obtain a check-in link, which added unnecessary stress and confusion. Furthermore, instruction for turning on the sauna were unclear, and I was unable to enjoy it until the next morning at 8am, just few hours before my checkout time. I had specifically chosen the penthouse room with the sauna for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. due to the lack of clear instructions, and had to seek assistance to figure out how to operate it properly, which ate into the limited time I had available to enjoy the amenity. In conclusion, my stay with Bob W fell short of my expectations. The limited time to enjoy the amenities, issues during the check-in process and accessing the elevator, made for a less than satisfactory experience. I hope that Bob W seriously takes feedback into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a more enjoyable stay for travelers in the future. Thank you

DdjkdgThis is a great addition to the Helsinki Scandic range, converting an old building into a stunning new hotel. It is pretty big (over 300 rooms) but there is enough space for everything to happen. Rooms are lovely and well designed. Rooms sizes and shapes vary because of the building conversion. Some have baths. The superior rooms are all gorgeous and face the church square. Everything in the room worked well and internal noise insulation was excellent. Good air-con and free wi-fi. Blackout curtains were efficient and lighting very well managed. Breakfast is in a vast but multi-roomed area with some seating outside in the atrium. Nothing was missing from the buffet and despite the number of guests it all worked well with plenty of seating. The location of the hotel is also good, very central, 5 minutes’ walk from the Kamppi shopping centre (and metro) and 3 minutes’ walk from tram stops.

Citybox has been a fantastic catch, really unexpected! The hotel is easy to reach, close to metro and tram stops, and located in the trendy Kallio neighborhood, but also at walking distance from pretty everywhere tourists might desire to go. There's self-checking, but someone is presiding the office 24/7 - which might be handy. There's no breakfast, but there's an area equipped with fridge, toaster, tableware, sink that you can use. In the lobby, you can also find table tennis and co-working areas. The room was small, but sufficient. Clean. There's no daily room tidy-up. The price is definitely the added value. Very good price-quality ratio, I would have never expected. I would definitely stay at Citybox again, strongly recommended.

GGuest UserWe had a good stay at Hotel Arthur. The location was pretty convenient for us - it was a 5 minute walk from Helsinki's Central Station for platforms going to/from the airport, tram service was nearby and it was within a 15-20 minute walk of everything we wanted to see in Helsinki. We booked this hotel because it was inexpensive for our stay and it was pretty pleasant. The breakfast was included with our stay and was welcome as well. We booked a twin room with two twin beds. The beds were comfy and we found extra pillows in the closet. We had a really good sleep each night at the hotel because it was very quiet. The room had a couple of chairs including a pretty big cushioned one, a desk and a TV that was mounted high. The room could be a little better with the cleaning of the tv remote and kettle but the beds and bathroom were fine. The hotel is over 100 years old and we felt the hotel showed its age the most in the room because there are some renovations that have been done over the years and it is pretty evident . Our room only had plug-ins at the desk and there was none near the night stand by the beds. The closets were in need of some maintenance because the door tracks were a bit stiff, the floor was peeling and the drywall in the back was loose. The shower used to have sliding doors as evident by the track that wasn't removed but the shower had a curtain that was too short and the floor squeegee was there for a reason because the water went everywhere when I showered. Shower pressure was fine and it was easy to get plenty of hot water. You may want to consider bringing your own bath products because the shower gel was meant for hand soap, body wash and shampoo. The hotel has saunas that you can book upon request. If you book your hotel reservation directly through the hotel you can get a discounted rate of 8 euros per person for the sauna but if you book through another website it is 10 euros per person. There is a nicer sauna that is shown in the pictures of the hotel but it fills up pretty quickly. We got the other sauna and it was ok but was in need of some cleaning because previous guests left their wet towels all over the place instead of in the towel bin located under a bench. We felt it was silly to charge a different rate if you booked through another platform because we wouldn't have heard of this hotel if we didn't use the platform we used! The breakfast was pretty standard and I had a nice English breakfast each day from the buffet. The mushrooms, sausage and hash browns were my favourite but I grew to enjoy the scrambled eggs during my stay because they add something to it that I'm not used to. They also had yoghurt, cereals, cold cut meats, fruit and cheese amongst other standard breakfast staples. They had a juice dispenser, a small selection of tea and black coffee. They also had items that you could pay for at the bar like a cappuccino or chocolate chip muffin. The reception area was pretty good. They had luggage storage and quite a few chairs to sit in. My wife liked their small souvenir shop and got some cute post cards. The staff are very helpful and can provide recommendations for the city. The reception also provide tea and sugar for your room and you can pick up your rations daily. They do not provide regular cleaning for the rooms but you can arrange cleaning or new towels through reception. There are plenty of sights to see nearby as well as cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. The tram is a short walk away and that was very convenient for us as we did a day trip to Tallinn using the ferries to go across the sea. We booked this hotel because it was affordable in a pretty expensive city and we would still recommend it if the pieces are fair. It was a good place to sleep and unwind after each day we spent exploring the area.

GGuest UserVery affordable, clean, safe and quiet sp**** rooms in a convenient location. Bare minimum rooms are fine. Most of the travellers are university age so showers and breakfast before 8:30 am works well if you can wake before them. Sauna as well. The rooms are thoughtfully sealed and really soundproofed well and I heard nothing outside my room. Staff is helpful and courteous. Well run in general. Breakfast is fair, but so cheap, I cannot complain. If you book ahead of time through a third party you will be offered a discount if you avoid paying for breakfast in advance for breakfast. IKEA meatballs and scrambled eggs with peas and watered down coffee - but at this price no complaints. Lots of green initiatives too. I respect this place’s owners. Much less waste than an expensive hotel.

GGuest UserTop if you are looking for a cheap place to stay. Even their 16 people shared rooms are furnitured in a very intelligent way so they provide privacy. I was really scared of sleeping in one room with 15 other people. After my trip there, i was not anymore. Also their shared area is really comfy and has everything you need including sofas, multiple TVs and a REALLY big kitchen. It is also very clean and the staff is super friendly.

GGuest UserI checked in late in the morning. It's right next to the departure hall, so it's easy to miss, but the location is perfect because you don't have to leave the airport. The staff was very friendly, and the room was the perfect size for single use. Although the lack of a window is a disadvantage, I was able to sleep well because of it. Highly recommended as a Helsinki-Vantaa Airport stopover hotel.

GGuest UserWelcome to your build-your-own gulag experience ! This hostel was just a joke. I arrived at 11 pm , layover of 12 hours, so I was too cheap for the Hilton . I thought, well sounds good, hotel with your own bed, bathrooms shared ,how bad could it be. It was the typical grey and icy Finland experience everyone imagines .Well, I marched over to the hostel from the airport, at night with my google maps, so somehow I found it. I wouldn’t advise any females doing this at that time. It’s practically walking out of the arrival hall, past the finavia pilot building (right side) then straight ahead, left continue past the parking lot and the traffic light left again and after the bridge 200 meters right. The code they sent me reliably worked but the room was a joke. There is no reception, nobody to help in case something goes wrong. It didn’t, fortunately. Back to the room : Maybe 10m2. 1 coffee machine and a hot water kettle but not even 1 miserable pack of instant coffee for 85$? Not even the bed was made, you arrive and make it. Worse than a gulag. Same atmosphere by the way. Ice cold outside. The showers were dirty, the bathroom clean, I wouldn’t ever come back. I guess sleeping at the airport is still more fun than on this 80 cm x 180 cm bed. Not kidding. I liked the view onto trees and ice, something new for me, being 300 days a year at tropical beaches …
