"The hotel isn't in the city center; it's about a 30-minute walk or bus ride to downtown or the university area. However, it's very quiet here. If you're not driving, you have to walk through a large private garden (blocked by a wire fence) every time you leave, which takes about 7-8 minutes to exit. On the upside, it's cheaper than hotels in the city center. If budget isn't an issue, you could certainly opt for a 'fancier' hotel in the university area, which would naturally offer a better experience. Besides the university, the Fitzwilliam Museum is definitely worth a visit in Cambridge."

"The room is spacious, quite new, and clean. The front desk staff and servers are very nice. There's a bus stop downstairs with direct access to the city center, and there's a supermarket and a sports field nearby. The gym equipment is also quite comprehensive."

"Value, location and comfort were very good. However, having a two tier internet package (free service was pathetic) is wholly unacceptable in 2025. Free, fast WiFi should be provided as standard, just like electricity, water and heating. I will never stay at a Premier Inn again. It’s the principle of the thing. It’s just pathetic."

"Mixed Experience – Some Great Aspects but Room for Improvement We recently stayed at the Novotel Cambridge North and had a mixed experience. The hotel has a lot going for it—modern facilities, a good location just north of the city centre, and excellent breakfast options that really stood out. The pool area is great for kids, and the sauna and jacuzzi were enjoyable touches that added value to our stay. However, there were a few letdowns. While staff were generally friendly, some follow-through was lacking—for example, we requested dressing gowns and slippers, and refills of the shower gel and shampoo which were promised but never delivered. The hotel uses a strange single-use key card system for the leisure facilities, which caused repeated issues. Cards were frequently deactivated, leaving guests locked out of the pool and gym areas. We often had to rely on others to let us in, or vice versa, which became frustrating. Also worth noting: there is no on-site parking available, which should be clearly stated in advance for future guests. Overall, the hotel offers decent value for money, especially for families, and the convenient public transport links (bus and train) make it easy to get into the city. With some improvements in service and clearer communication, this could be an excellent place to stay"

"Can’t beat the location — super convenient and close to everything I needed. That said, it felt a bit overpriced for what you actually get. The place was decent, but nothing really stood out to justify the higher cost. If location is your top priority, it’s a solid pick, but otherwise, there might be better value elsewhere."

"Spacious room and comfort bed. Soap smells nice. Doors are very heavy to open, so it was difficult when you have to drag heavy luggage. Location to city centre is ok but very far if you want to go to train station."

"The hotel is located at Cambridge Railway Station. It takes less than a minute to get to the hotel after getting off the train station. If you want to take a taxi, you can go directly back to the train station and call the taxi waiting there. It is very convenient! The location is very good and the hotel is very newly decorated! The ingredients provided for breakfast are very fresh, but I feel that the cooking method still needs to be improved. Overall, the convenience is very high. I personally think it is one of the most comfortable hotels in Cambridge!"

"being right next to train station is priceless. Trains are available frequently and it takes 7 mins to cambridge. Lovation wise it might be even better than staying somewhere in Cambridge outskirts. breakfast was really nice but hotel/room is a bit outdated and needs a renovation. nonetheless it’s a good place for a short stay."
