Classic English hotel, my room was recently updated and clean; strange not to have daily cleaning service.
Small Single room with sea view was expected and very cosy. Appreciate the soft, thick new carpet. Also the single armchair was well used to enjoy sitting by window for the view.
Bathroom was brand new, modern and didn’t blend into environment which is a shame. The water from shower was either too hot or cold; also the shower head could not be fixed into the rail so needed holding up.
Restaurant meal was very nice, service was especially friendly and attentive.
I would stay again in the near future but remind other guests considering that this is a 3 star hotel so you should appreciate that this is meeting the expectations of this grading.
Overall daily service at hotel reception was well appreciated and always greeted when passing . Well done and thank you to the hotel staff!
1. The hotel is on a small slope on the edge of Penzance City. It takes only 20 minutes to walk to the city center. In fact, it is very convenient for travel. It is also very close to Penzance Railway Station and the port. It takes 15 minutes to drive to see Mount Saint Michel.
2. The hotel provides a lot of snacks, the sea view room has an excellent view and is worth recommending. If you want hot food for breakfast, you need to charge a little extra, and the quality of other meals is also good.
3. If you come by car, you need to call the hotel to book a parking space, about 4.5 pounds a day parking fee.
4. The hotel's cancellation policy is to cancel 14 days in advance.
5. The corridor of the hotel is relatively narrow and there is no elevator, and it may not be convenient to have too much luggage.
The room design is very special and the accommodation is very comfortable. The attic room is hot during the day when it is sunny. The hotel does not include breakfast, but there is a restaurant downstairs, which tastes very good. There are some specialty shops near the hotel, which are worth visiting. Most of Penzance's accommodations are on the hillside, not far from the hotel from the train station, but it is tiring to climb the slope with luggage. To all major attractions is to take a car from the railway station. There are several Chinese restaurants on the market steet, which taste pretty good.

Sea view room, several windows with great views, simple breakfast provided (worth about 12 pounds), the food in the hotel restaurant is also good, there are many people every day, there is an Italian buffet on Friday (15.5 super cheap), a lot of dishes, just They are all very filling dishes, so they are cheap. You don’t have to worry about customers eating too much, but it is more than enough to try them all~
We had an amazing stay came from Alicante arrived on the evening of the 9th Dec for a week We were welcomed by one of your managers ( lovely guy) he was always friendly and helpful. Lisa in the restaurant was also so kind and friendly to us. Room all good ,nice and warm lovely tea coffee and biscuits in our room. Thank you Jane & colin Alicante spain
We had a 3 night stay and it was very nice. It’s situated a 5 minute walk from the train station and buses. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. In addition to breakfast we had dinner on a couple of nights too and the food each time was delicious. All the staff we met were super friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. I loved all the signs along the hallway giving directions to reception- it’s so easy to get confused in these old buildings

Great little B&B pub our room not to big but had everything in side very clean breakfast excellent but don’t forget to stay for the evening meal lots of great locals in the pub made us feel very welcome, owner always on hand if needed , definitely would stay again
Felt the need to post a review after reading some of the previous comments. We stayed here for one night before travelling to the Isles of Scilly. We arrived by train and the location could not be more convenient for both the station and the ferry. The town centre is also easily accessible and coastal walks in either direction are on your doorstep. Our room wasn’t large but was spotlessly clean and had everything you need. Bed was comfy and shower hot. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. It is on a busy main road but we knew this before we booked and actually found it quieter than expected. It certainly didn’t affect our sleep. The pub next door was no problem either. The price was considerably cheaper than the Premier Inn down the road and included an excellent cooked breakfast. Some people must be extremely hard to please! We shall look forward to staying again.

Outstanding
Can't fault this lovely b&b. You'll get a warm welcome from hosts Clare and Kevin, who are happy to share their wealth of local knowledge and are always up for a chat. Breakfasts are amazing - the full English is a real gut-buster, but Clare is happy to tailor breakfast to whatever you want - cereal, fruit and yoghurt are standard and of course bottomless tea or coffee pot. Rooms are refreshed daily - if you wish - and the bed was super-comfortable. Daily fresh towels are a treat that you don't normally get in hotels these days. But here nothing is too much trouble. I can't wait to go again next year. Highly recommended!
BBarbara GWe stayed at Torwood House for 5 nights in September 2020. Our room was huge & had everything we could wish for - kettle & hot drinks facilities, lovely shower with ample hot water, comfy bed & convenient location to walk to restaurants and along the bay. Perfect if you are heading off to the Isles of Scilly as we did. Our family of grown up kids joined us for two nights and they also stayed in a large room. Steve cooked delicious breakfasts and nothing was too much trouble for Lynda. As we had to depart really early for the ferry to St Mary's, Lynda kindly supplied us with a packed breakfast to eat on the ferry. Many thanks to both of you for a fantastic stay. Thoroughly recommended. Best wishes Barb & John
We only saw the owner the last morning to pay. I had received a message before we arrived, with the instructions and the number of our room. The keys of our room were left on the door and the main door was left open all the time. We don't particularly like this system, but I found this quite often around the UK and Scotland. Also, the owner was always reachable over the phone and everything we requested was done and provided. Our room was big. Breakfast was self service in the room so they provided fresh fruits, milk, yoghurt, orange juice, eggs, bread, jam, butter, tea and coffee every morning. We had a microwave, cutlery, glasses, cups and plates. The negative aspects for us were: - smelly entrance. The carpet looked very old and, together with the smell did not give a good impression - our room was big but too full of stuff. There were blankets and bed nets under the beds and all sorts of paintings, mirrors and bedside tables. It felt too full of things. There was no attention to details in terms of furniture. Mattresses were different in different beds and not great to sleep (however this may be just personal taste). - too much light in our room as the light on the corridor was constantly on and there was a big window on top of the door so it was very bright in the room. Overall, it is a good average solution if you have to stop in Penzance as it is basically on the promenade and only 10 minutes walking from the city centre.
高高Breakfast is good, in a small town, below is a bar, I will rest after 11 o’clock, two beds, sleep quite comfortable, breakfast is a typical English breakfast, you will be asked what you eat, you can choose
