Find the Cheap Stourport-on-Severn Hotels

We had a lovely stay here , we stayed in the main part of the hotel overlooking the grounds , the room was a little tired but nice and clean and very quiet and peaceful with stunning views. The staff at the hotel were all amazing from reception, housekeeping to the restaurant. All very happy and welcoming, we ate breakfast and dinner both days , breakfast was buffet style very nice everything you needed was there . Dinner both nights was really nice. First night we both had steak which was cooked perfect , second night, tarragon chicken and my husband had the curry again both lovely. The staff in the restaurant couldn’t do enough and all very smiley we well done to you all .

Booked Baldwin House for a stay over as we booked a family trip to West Midlands Safari Park with myself my wife, 4 year old and 6 month year old baby Having visited the park during the day and had dinner we headed to the hotel at approximately 10pm not knowing last check in was at 8pm as this wasn't made obvious - an easy oversight. I called the hotel when we got there as it looked closed and the phone was answered by the owner Dave with a very rude Yes!?. I ignored this, and asked why the hotel was closed and he began to rudely explain how the hotel in closes at 8pm and I am lucky he is even answering the phone! So I apologised profusely to which he said, Yes you should be! he then said you are lucky you have a baby with you and proceeded to disconnect the call! He then came down and opened the door and shouted at me saying ”Where's the rest of them!” at the point I felt I had been disrespected enough and was ready to turn back or find another hotel, but had to think of my 6 month old. We then grabbed our things and came to the front desk where matters got worse! He saw my 2 children and said the rooms only booked for 1 child! and I explained I can show him the booking, he said ”You can show me what you want, I don't care!”. After 5 mins he realised that I was correct and the booking was for 2 children on his system. He then said I didn't book with ********** and told me I booked with *******! I said the booking comes across as ******* but he called me a liar!

I chanced upon this place Sunday lunchtime when I was looking for a bite to eat but although the fare was OK if a bit pricey the staff were not very attentive. Ordered a coffee and bacon sandwich. When the coffee came, there was no milk (as you would normally expect to get in any other cafe or coffee shop). I had to go back to the serving hatch to request some. When the sandwich came, I wasn't asked whether I wanted sauce and again I had to specifically request this. Finally, the staff seem to have very little local knowledge- maybe they weren't local- and didn't know whether the road outside towards Bewdley river bridge was open for pedestrians (as it turned out it was). The staff were quite busy but I don't think this is a valid excuse for the not very good service.

The two most striking things about this hotel was how friendly the reception staff are and how spotlessly clean the room was. A quiet spot, with a lovely restaurant pub across the car park. The only glaring fault is, I required a disabled room, which wasn't ground floor. In case of fire, and unable to use the lift, I wouldn't be able to use the stairs. But other than this issue, a wonderful stay.

Warm and friendly welcome! Beautiful rooms and facilities! Debbie and David were wonderful, they even allowed us to borrow a charger when our phones went flat!! Traditional AND vegetarian breakfasts were incredible, coffee was hot and strong and the orange juice was fresh and cold!! Perfect!!! Only stayed one night but wish it was more and would definitely go back!!!
