This hotel was meh and felt a little scammy. We ended up in Bolzano for 1 night coming from the Dolomites and didn’t have a room anywhere. I always prefer to book directly thought the hotel rather than a third party and on their site, it mentioned a double room with breakfast for €117. I emailed right away and within 20 minutes received a reply with a quote for €195. I asked about the cheaper rate and was told it was no longer available, so I booked at the higher rate. However, once we checked in the following night, I got curious and checked again for the same night and the €117 price said it was still available for that night. I felt like they used that to lure you in. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were friendly but our room was a little outdated and the floor felt like there were soft spots or holes in multiple places. I can deal with outdated but the holes covered by carpet were weird. The place was clean and a good size and also fairly quite so no complaints there. In addition, they had parking available for a few. When you book you have to select their garage, however, the do have a few uncovered spaces available that are a little cheaper but are first come first served and not reservable so ask about those. If you are coming by car, get directions on where to park before you get there. It is in a busy area right by the train station so we pulled into the garage next door and ended up having to pay and extra €2,50 AND had to move the car. The location is great for both the train station and the old town is walkable in about 5-10 minutes. The breakfast selection was quite large and had an assortment of coffee, pastries and fresh items.
We just came back from a couple of days holidays in Bolzano. this hotel was one of the best hotels we have been so far. Excellent location (7 minutes walk from station and right in the center of town), immaculate and good size rooms, wonderful spa and Jacuzi, ... Breakfast was good but a bit limited on variety. Staff are very friendly and helpful, specially Shabab who gave us a lot of super useful tips about the city and sightseeing. He also helped us to upgrade the room which was amazing. We could not fault anything in the hotel. We were also impressed with free Bolzano Card which was offered by hotel and is really fantastic for using cable cars, buses etc free of charge. We'd definitely go back.

This is a family-run hotel, and a lot of thought has evidently gone into making guests comfortable and attending to their needs. The hotel is pretty central and has its own parking, so is very convenient whether you are travelling by car or train. The decor is principally light coloured wood (for which the hotel won an award) with sympathetic colours throughout. The rooms have electrically controlled blackout blinds that rise from the base of the window so that you can still enjoy some daylight without being woken by the rising sun, and there is ample storage space. We stayed for five nights on a visit to Bolzano that was partly for business and partly for pleasure, and couldn’t have been happier with the service. The staff were especially helpful and went out of their way to help us resolve problems (with our hired car), making phone calls on our behalf and getting the information we needed, so that the stress of travel was kept to a minimum. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff, whatever their role, were unfailingly friendly and polite. The continental breakfast featured delicious home-made pastries and cakes- and even a glass of Prosecco if you wanted it! We would certainly stay there again.
We stayed in an apartment here in 2019 and based upon the experience of this we re booked for our 2024 stay of 10 nights. Again we had a superb stay, the apartment was immaculate, quiet and very comfortable. It is also very secure. Our apartment had a good size balcony with clothes line which was very handy for our stay. The kitchen area had an oven cooktop, full size fridge and cutlery plates and cooking utensils. The location is ideal as well a supermarket is a short walk away, and also some smaller shops for milk bread and fruit very close by. The hotel does have a great restaurant and we dined here a couple of times for dinner well priced great food and excellent customer service. A bus top is in front of the apartment which enabled trips to another Town called Merano and the bus into Bolzano including a stop over the road from the Train station. Would highly recommend booking a stay in these apartments, there is parking on site and lift to access the apartments, noting the lift can offer access to apartment floors if you are staying there as you have a key to access the floors.

Great location right in the middle of the city near shopping, food, and about a ten minute walk from the train and bus stations. A little challenging on the cobblestones with bags, but this just slowed us down a little. On site staff were very helpful and attentive, speaking at a minimum German, Italian, and English. They stored our bags for us so we could wander the city after checkout, and helped us find our route to Siusi so we could take the cable car up to Alpi di Siusi. Breakfast was very nice and typical for Italy. It would be nice to have a real cappuccino and not just a self-serve machine. Our apartment was a wonderful space, plenty large enough for a family of four. AC worked well, and espresso machine in the room was greatly appreciated. We did not use the kitchenette but it was well stocked with hardware.
After reading all the duff reviews we were in trepidation of our booking, made many weeks previously. We were so pleasantly surprised. Arriving at 3pm to a warm Italian welcome the hotel is very modern with quirky decor. Beautiful views across to the river Trento with the fantastic Italian Alps (?) as a magnificent backdrop. Pleasant 15min walk into the town centre which is also fabulous. The only drawback was the parking, but we were persistent and eventually lucky in procuring a space right outside the hotel with a sticker from reception for the windscreen. No breakfast so probably overpriced at €154 for one double room for 1 night, but definitely nothing to moan about.
We choose to stay at Hotel Asterix, because our son who we were visiting lives close by in a dormitory, plus even though the price was still quite high, it was less than most of the hotels in the area.
We were greeted cordially when we arrived and generally, all staff was very friendly. At the reception area, there were many flyers introducing to-dos in the area, including a city map.
The room was quite small for three people, but sufficient and, what is always most important to me, it was very clean and the beds were comfy. The same goes for the bathroom - it was super clean and small, but despite that practical. Towels were provided as was the soap dispenser (hands, hair&body in the shower). For everything else, I guess, we could have asked, but there was no need for us - we always have our little travel version when on the way.
The room & bathroom were made up and cleaned everyday properly.
Altogether a pleasant stay!
Check-in hours are 17:00-23:00, check out 8:00-10:00; usually it wouldn't be very convenient for us - earlier check-in let's say starting 14:00) and later check-out (12:00) would be so much better - but this time, for once, it fit our travel plans perfectly, on arrival as well as at departure.

Bolzano Cathedral
佛佛宝宝Surrounded by mountains, the scenery is good, it is said that bolzano is a city with a high happiness index. . The cathedral and Rome are naturally incomparable, just look outside. There is no master painting inside.
Maretsch Castle
佛佛宝宝In the castle, there are often programs such as wine clubs, concerts and so on. The farewell banquet of the athletes at Bolzano Station every time the world diving series was held here in the previous years, and the Chinese team also participated. A very good place! Yesterday evening, when I ran into the sunset, the moment the Dolomites mountains in the distance were red. Running in Talvera Park here not only enjoys the scenery, but also throws 731 calories, hehe!
South Tyrol Archeological Museum
佛佛宝宝Holding Renon card can enter the museum for free, walking from Bolzano cable car station, more than ten minutes away, very convenient. This museum is suitable for those who like archaeology. In fact, it is best to go outdoors to BOLZANO, if the weather is good. If it rains, it is also a good choice to go to the museum. After all, the city center is small and it will not take long to finish shopping. But there are really many people queuing at the museum in rainy weather!
