"I stayed at Odst Al Madinah Hotel from April 7 to April 10, 2025, and paid 1,078 AED for three nights, booked online through Trip.com. For the location, the price is quite affordable — still not super cheap, but definitely worth it for what you get. I booked it just one day before arriving, and it was one of the cheapest options available in that area at the time. I paid online, and there was no extra deposit required, which made the whole check-in process really smooth. When I arrived, there was a long queue at reception, but one of the staff members noticed and opened a new counter, calling me over and helping me check in quickly. That made a good first impression. The staff were generally kind and helpful, except for one staff member at the small bakery shop in the lobby — he seemed to be always in a hurry and a bit rude, but it wasn’t a big issue. The location is definitely one of the best things about this hotel. It’s around a 10-minute walk to Masjid Nabawi, or even less if you walk fast. The hotel is located near Fahad Road, where you’ll find the Madinah Frame and many well-known hotels. It’s also near the main entrance of the mosque, so if you’re walking with women, it’s very convenient — you can enter directly without needing to take the long detour to the women’s gate. The surrounding area is vibrant and full of life, with shops, groceries, shopping centers, and a very spiritual atmosphere. During prayer times, it’s beautiful to walk together with crowds heading to the mosque. I didn’t book the room with breakfast, but the hotel does offer Indonesian food. If you’re in your room, you can dial 1518 to connect to the next hotel — I think it’s called Zowar Hotel — and place an order. I tried calling them a few times, but either no one picked up or they told me the kitchen was closed (probably because I called late at night), so I didn’t get to try their food. However, there’s a great nearby Indonesian restaurant called Sunda Restaurant that I recommend for anyone looking for familiar flavors. In the hotel lobby, there’s a small bakery-style shop that sells cakes, bread, coffee, and tea — convenient for a quick bite or drink, although the staff there weren’t the friendliest. The room itself was excellent — very clean, comfortable, with consistently hot water, and I had no issues with anything inside. However, the hallway outside the room was a bit noisy, so if you’re a light sleeper, that’s something to keep in mind. One thing to be aware of is that housekeeping tends to knock and open the door with their key if there’s no answer — this happened to me once, so I recommend always responding right away if someone knocks. In conclusion, I highly recommend Odst Al Madinah Hotel for those who want to stay close to Masjid Nabawi but are also looking for a budget-friendly option. It offers great value for its location, comfort, and service, especially compared to other hotels in the same area."

"Excellent, clean hotel with a good location. The only disadvantages are that some of the room service staff are uncooperative and take time to serve even after requesting. The strange thing is that one of them lies and claims that we refuse the service. Most of the things we ask for, we say they are not available, and the coffee capsules are delayed from the restaurant, unfortunately."

"1- They forgot to put towels in the bathroom and I checked in at night. Called the receptionist and they told me to wait and someone will bring towels. I waited for an hour. Then called the receptionist again only to tell me that they don’t offer service at night.  2- the AC was not working. I was sweating. 3- the water was cold and wouldn’t get warm enough for me to shower. Other than that, everything else is pretty good."

"The hotel from the inside is very clean and the room was not bad at all. There was a smell of smoke coming from other rooms which was a little annoying. Also there was no side lamps, so you either have a very powerful light in the room or no light at all. It was a 15mins walk to the Masjid Al Nabawi, but the area itself was not very nice, and it is only once you open the front door of the hotel you realise it is a hotel. Overall ok for a 2 night stay."

"Overall, it was a decent stay. However, the check-in process was frustrating and unprofessional. I had booked two rooms under two different names, but the receptionist only checked for one name and refused to verify the other. This lack of basic customer service forced us to contact Trip.com customer support, and the issue took nearly an hour to resolve — all while I was waiting with my infant and my mother in a wheelchair. This was a highly disappointing experience. Most of the staff were unhelpful and lacked courtesy."

"A hotel that definitely exceeded expectations. If you are going to Alula for a layover in the Medina, I would definitely recommend it. The front desk is open 24 hours a day, and the check-in time period written on Ctrip is wrong. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic. When they saw that I was bringing my son, they took the initiative to arrange a two-bedroom room. The room was spacious and hygienic, especially the kitchen, so it had all the facilities and was definitely suitable for family travel. The only drawback is that the road is being built in front of the hotel, so you have to go through a very narrow alley to find the hotel. This is the only problem, but this problem should disappear once the road is repaired."
