The lodge is very professionally run. It is immaculately clean and everything functions like clockwork. The room is stylishly decorated with a panoramic view of the river. Breakfast is superb - they are justifiably proud of it - blew my diet right out of the water. Suggestion: there needs to be a better place for an upmarket dinner in line with the lodge ratings.

Derek, Etti and Iona are the most kindness people I have ever seen. The accommodation is great and the view amazing. Derek is also a guide at Addo Elephant park. He knows Everything about the animals and the park. Fantastic breakfast with the famous Bread of Ettia👏😁 Thanks a lot for our amazing trip and enjoy on May 25th Derek⚽️

What a lovely place to stay on the banks of the Sundays River. It’s lovely to have breakfast on the terrace with this view. Everything was of a high standard and there was no hassle. Good wines were available to drink on the terrace or in the comfort of the spacious well furnished room. Nothing was too much trouble. Delightful.

Dungbeetle is a gem--a portal to Addo with a dock onto Sundays River. The lodge is run by knowledgable, thoughtful people who have attended to every detail in support of their guests and the enjoyment of this wonderful place.

Zwei Traumtage am Addo-Park
Es warenwundervolleTage bei herausragenden Gastgebern. TolleTipsfür unseren Aufenthalt. Lage perfekt zum Südtor de Addo. Die Lodge selbst liegt super über dem Sunday River mit morgendlichem Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit Blick auf den Fluss. Wir würden immer wieder hierhin zurückkommen. Beste Grüße an Edda und Derek !

Lovely views from the deck where excellent breakfast was served. Lovely choice of jams as well as hot food made to order. The melon and ginger jam was especially delicious. The river trip kindly arranged for us was great. We got to walk over the dunes and see more of the stunning scenery and colourful birds and learn some of the history of the area. Our 2 rooms were like a mini suite and perfect for us. The location was very peaceful. We had already been on several safaris, but if you hadn't the lodge is a good base as it is very close to the entrance to Addo Elephant Park and also only about 20 mins from Schotia game reserve.
