This is our second stay at Riviera Vista in January. A year ago I wrote . "Our 2 bedroom suite (1106) was enormous, with a large balcony which even in January had the sun on it most of the day with a view over the bay. Bed was super comfortable. Kitchen area not suitable for proper self-catering but with fridge, microwave, kettle, cutlery and crockery it had everything we needed. We had no problems over towels or cleaning which some reviews mentioned. The pool and pool area was very nice, with a pool bar. It was deep enough to swim and warm enough in January. The life guard Omar took a lot of trouble to make sure my wife was OK while in the pool and getting in and out. Parking has been a problem for some as there is only public parking, often full. Less of a problem for us as my wife is a Blue Badge holder, although even then the 2 spaces were sometimes full, but it was always possible to find somewhere within a few minutes walk. Could be a problem in high season. Breakfast was generally good once I found microwave to compensate for defects in overhead food heaters., with plenty of choice and good coffee. We had buffet dinner twice and it was good value but starters and fish generally more interesting than meat dishes. Afters were very nice, with selection of ice-cream. The drinks however were expensive but this seemed to be true everywhere. Staff were all helpful and pleasant. Access to the beach via the lift was a great bonus and the walkable promenade is about 500yds long. All in all a very pleasant stay at a reasonable price." This year was even better! (Although potential problems for some as noted above still remain). This time we had again booked a 2 bedroom apartment but in fact were given a 3 bedroom apt. - 3 balconies and 3 bathrooms! Omar the life-guard was still there and once again made sure my wife was safe. Staff were very helpful. Re the beach, it's easily accessible from the hotel via the lift and there are sunbeds for hire further along. I found the waves this year too big for me to be able to swim (I'm a poor swimmer). Playa Amadores is only a few minutes drive away and is more developed, with restaurants etc and a protected bay that I could swim in. And if you like football or other sports the Irish Bar just down the road from the hotel is very good and obliging with finding matches, and you can eat there.
