The castle hotel where Elizabeth I spent his childhood is really beautiful, the environment is beautiful, and the medieval castle hotel itself is classic and beautiful, it is worth visiting. The two receptionist were very helpful and went above and beyond to assist us when we checked in at the Coventry - Mile lane CV1 2LN, on a rainy coronation day. The duo were exceptional. Unfortunately I misplaced their names, a lady and a man. Thank you for your kindness and prompt assistance! Also, the hotel was very neat and clean, the room smell nice and fresh, the bathroom was very clean with clean towels, soap and shampoo, and the bed was very comfortable. I had a pleasant stay, great value for money! Excellent!!

Room was clean and tidy, good value for the money. A good variety of TV channels and free WiFi, you can purchase films at £3.50 each but the selection could be bigger, and in this day and age I think £3.50 to watch a film is a but steep. Was surprise I had to pay for parking when I arrived at the hotel, a token should be given to guests for free parking. I could of driven straight out of the parking area as the barriers were not working, which the hotel knew about but still wanted me to pay the £6.50 for our overnight stay. Hotel reception, bar and restuarant was nice and modern but we only had one drink in the bar due to the prices, Pint of Heineken and half a coke was just under £8, so being just a 5 min walk into the town centre and 2 local pubs just a minutes walk away, we decided to eat out and drink out, saving ourselves a lot of cash. I'm happy to pay good money for good food, but the prices for food were just too high for a hotel restuarant, and nothing on the limited menu that my 13 year old daughter liked. This is a large hotel, so I think it would be good for management to extend there food menu for family's and at reasonable prices, even if it's just the bar menu. Opposite the hotel there are numerous outlets, restaurants, take away pizza, kebabs etc. Hotel is in a great locations. If you like playing pool, there is a Rielys pool bar 100yards from the hotel. Would I stay again? Yes I would, staff were friendly, hotel was clean, had a good night sleep, bed was comfy, shower worked fine, large TV, great location, local shops outside, walking distance into town, my only issue really, was that we had to pay for parking at the hotel, to stay at the hotel, I personally don't think that's ok.

We were able to check in at 3.00pm. Room was very nice, slippers and robes provided and the tea/coffee facilities had the added benefit of a coffee machine. Bed was very comfy and warm with lovely pillows. Breakfast was good. Everything there that you would expect, cooked well and hot. We were a little disappointed though on the morning of departure when we attempted to get the lift down to reception only to find when it arrived that the maids trolley had been placed in there so we had to use the stairs. This caused a problem for my husband who suffers with his hip. Secondly, on leaving we were not informed that the barrier was open. We saw the sign in the car park saying we needed to get a token from reception, so we drove back and went in to reception to ask, only to be informed we didn’t need one. It would have been helpful to have had this information on checkout. Other than this everything else was good

On the campus of Warwick University, the environment is okay, the rooms are not very new, but clean and sanitary, and the waiters are more enthusiastic. Breakfast is a medium-sized English breakfast. Hotel location is good, but no Novotel is close to the airport. Novotel is walking at the door of the airport glass door for a minute. This hotel is to take the airport light rail for three minutes, then get off the train for ten minutes to walk through the exhibition hall. The exhibition hall is about five minutes walk. Remember that the hotel entrance is at the pizza shop. After entering the door, the elevator is on the second floor. It is the lobby, don't go wrong or circle. The breakfast is very suitable for the Chinese stomach, and the variety is very rich. I live here because I want to participate in the cake show every November. The picture is that it is convenient to go to the exhibition hall without going too far, otherwise the mobile phone is tired. Actually, it is also very tired, stop and go all the way. The hotel is actually a Shanghai-like Heshenghui, a big shopping mall. The hotel reception is in the corner of the second floor of the shopping mall. The guest room is inside the corner building built outside the main building. I feel that the floor of the guest room is built instead of cement, but the quality is very good. . There are not many stores in the mall, the British consumption is not high in the country, and there is a little bit of Colombia in the north. It feels high consumption. There are very few other shops. There is a coffee shop costa in the mall. You can buy a sandwich clerk to help you heat up. The huge sandwich is delicious. There is a specialty store in the Swiss Lotus chocolate, and it is more cost-effective to sell chocolate. Perfect base for a one night stop over before an early flight the next day. The food was lovely in the bar and reasonably priced. Walking distance to the airport and car park so location is perfect too! We used the monorail to go to the NEC/resorts world arena area which has shops,cinema,bars and restaurants. Great if you have a bit of time there as the hotel room is tiny but has everything you need.

We'd booked this hotel through a website, but probably could have got a better deal if we'd gone to Ibis direct. The beauty of the hotel is that you are 2 minutes from Departures at Birmingham Airport. When you've got an early morning flight this is a definite benefit, just to get a little extra sleep before you travel. The room itself was a good size. Plenty of space for us and our two large cases. Room and bathroom were clean as well. Even better, no noise from other rooms came through (OK you will get selfish people making noise down corridors on occasion - not much can be done about that I'm afraid). Went to the bar to have a drink which was fine. There is a place to eat, but we'd eaten before leaving home. Check in and check out was really quick as well.

I booked a stay for one date then had to move the date due my one colleague being in the military and we eventually stayed for what we thought at the time was a pleasurable evening with this hotel on the 2nd September 2022. I felt I did call in plenty of time to move the first booking and just wanted to flag this up with them. They have now charged me for two stays and accused me of not moving the booking and not turning up. I earn a low salary due to my current job and there would be no way we would want to pay for two stays when we only wanted one night. They appear to not be concerned with my story and are refusing to refund the first booking As they have no proof it was moved on the phone by me. I did not receive an email confirming the move in dates and assumed all was well from the telephone conversation . Be aware this could and will happen to you if you need to change your room booking . They might charge you for two stays. I can barely afford this at present especially with rising prices in fuel costs. I will not be returning to this hotel group because they have ripped me off. What turned out as a smashing hotel stay has now turned into a really bad negative memory. It was not a corporate booking and every penny counts for me at this time and we are being treated as if the money means nothing , that we have been charged for two stays , for them appears normal. Even if it is wrong . Just to confirm we paid and stayed for the £205.12 Booking for one night , but were not at the hotel for the other fee they have charged which is £286 Again beware of these big hotel groups who are happy to take your money and if a mistake is made on their part, are very hard to get back a fee that they should not have taken .

GGuest UserReally had high hopes at first glance this hotel has so much promise, being from Coventry originally I'm so glad this iconic building has been transformed and I will say it's been done well in parts however the reason for my star rating is the following. I'm on my second night of two and sadly had to move rooms. I had Room 27 first walk in was a huge Big Double you could easily use this as a family room it was that spacious, the downside and I would soon find out is this room is a connecting room and unfortunately I had very loud neighbours to which let's say I could hear everything. I'm also not the only person too mention this on their reviews. I had to complain about the noise during the night and again in the morning. Room 27 I sadly also found the bed far too soft and had around four hours sleep. Worth a mention that Room 27 over looks the courtyard and again I found that to be quite loud. I'm already feeling drained having travelled 1000's of miles to attend a family funeral. I'm now in Room 315 and what a let down. This is not a Big Double. It has the same lovely touches that go into detail of the hotels history however the room is so small. It's not a connection room and is a corner room which is one thing. I've tried to sleep and can't again the bed is not to a great standard honestly I find premier inn have better quality beds and if it wasn't booked I would of happily of gone there tonight. Upon check out I'm going to ask for a 50% refund and won't settle for less as having no sleep goes along way for anyone during any hotel stay. I would rate the breakfast as 3 / 5 i t was nice enough but nothing special. The staff are friendly enough but sadly with no sleep and some rooms not what you think your getting ie Room 315 is definitely not a Big Double I do feel sold out and I'm just disappointed and drained. Dreading my journey home tomorrow now with no sleep. I will add sense writing this as I booked through a third party and raised my complaints I was spoken too on the room phone by a Manager who had informed me my third party had spoken too them and wanted to know what my complaint was. Once I informed them of the noise and bed quality of both rooms ie the beds they snapped down the phone to me that this is a new hotel and the beds are new. They wouldn't be issuing a refund and basically my complaint was shot down. I have worked for over 25 years in the hotel trade even owning my own business of running successful hotels and bnbs. None of my staff would speak down to a customer in such a manner. They did end the call with see how I get on if I can sleep and speak to them in the morning however my mind is made up. This hotel is being run by monkeys who couldn't manage to peel a banana, let alone run what is meant to be a 4 star hotel. It's a 3 star over all at best with no pool, the poor quality of beds,lacking an average breakfast, is not that of any four star hotel I have been at or run successfully. GGuest UserThe staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly, however there was confusion with the offers stated in the upgrade. I was disappointed with the bar and grill manager who appeared to not be informed or aware of the offers included with an upgrade. The lighting in the club room needs improving as very dim. Not enough lamps to compensate for lack of ceiling lighting. Overall we had a good stay and this was our second time staying in this hotel. From my experience of staying in a standard room, and then upgrading to a club room, there was no actual difference in the room standard. Only benefits are the offers included when staying in a club room.

DDONGHotel service, the environment is ok. The facilities are not satisfactory. The first room wash basin was not smooth, because it was late, no one repaired it, and changed it. However, the flushing of the toilet was a little problem, the water kept flowing, I didn't want to bother, and repaired it myself. The environment is ok, very quiet, unfamiliar with the geography of Coventry. It feels like it is in the village, about six kilometers from the railway station. Fortunately, it is very convenient to play Uber. There is nothing to go around, go out for more than a kilometer and have not found a restaurant to eat, return to the hotel, only to find inside the hotel, taste good, beer is great! The price is about the same as the London restaurant.

AamsfromausWe stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was small but comfortable. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom really needs a good clean with bleach to remove the black mould around the bath/shower. It's a bit out of the way with no other options for meals except at the pub the hotel is attached to. The food from the pub is okay, nothing special and expensive. Out of the 3 meals we had there (2 dinners and 1 breakfast) every one was missing a main ingredient. Our lamb kofta came without the yoghurt and mint sauce, the mixed grain hallumi salad came without the mixed grains or the hallumi, and the breakfast berry yoghurt bowl came wiht one strawberry sliced paper thin and no muesli. Every query came with a ”sorry about that - we're out”. The one good thing was plenty of parking.

TTrent HutsonPerfect room for the night - but was disappointed that it took 45 minutes to get into my room after a long days work in London.
The main door and room codes weren’t provided after my booking, and staff were confused/ repeated questions - wasn’t too impressed with that unfortunately!
Would recommend but felt short changed and the organisation of the place for bookings needs reviewing.
