Lovely place

Beautiful location. Had a wonderful room on the corner with fantastic views. The only issue raised was there was no toilet paper and only one sachet of hot chocolate and a single pack of biscuits so we were unable to have a horrible chocolate and a pack of biscuits each at night. Would stay again and make use of spa facilities. Pool and steam room and sauna were perfect. Food was 5*

A really good hotel in a quiet part of the town. Its a spa hotel with a wide range of spa options. Amazing location and scenery. Good views from the room. It has a pool, sauna, steam room and gym. Would definitely visit again. Amazing parking options.

Return visit for us. Friendly staff, fabulous location and comfortable rooms. It’s like a home from home for us when visiting family. Our only grumble is the weak wifi which comes and goes.

Me and my mum booked in for a spa day with sparkling afternoon tea through groupon and what a fabulous experience we had ! Not only did we get great value for money but the staff went above and beyond for us, we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome, the spa facilities were lovely and clean, the location is just beautiful! (Literally on a little island in the middle of a lake surrounded by beautiful views) the pool is infinity-like, the quality of the sandwiches , cakes and scones we had for the afternoon tea was delicious with unlimited tea and coffees. We cant recommend this place enough! We will be back as soon as we can. Thank you all at waterton hotel and spa for making our visit one to remember! 😌❤️

This place makes a perfect setting for a wedding or anniversary. We stayed for two nights, with dinner on both nights. Every meal we had including breakfast, was to a very high standard. The room was excellent with a view over the lake. When we return to Yorkshire, we will try and stay again, subject to availability.

Firstly, this has nothing to do with the staff or the food. They didn't have anything other than maybe two vegan options on the main menu and only had oat milk (which I can't have), but after we spent time in the outdoor hot tub - which was stunning - we went to the reception and asked if it was possible for there to be a dairy free accommodation for our afternoon tea (which we had prebooked) with two hours notice. The staff in response went and bought soya milk for me and also prepared a lactose free afternoon tea selection for me - this was above what I expected at such short notice. The food was brilliant and the hot up/pool area was lovely. However, we couldn't help but feel disappointed with our stay. The room was dated and felt unloved by the staff. Too big with too little in, there was a few feet spare in the room which left it feeling empty and made it hard to relax. No hand soap given and after a 'refresh' we had no new towels supplied (just old ones taken) and no bag in the bin. It was little things looking back but it's the small details what make a trip and this sadly broke it. In addition to this, when booking we added a comment saying it was for mine and my partners anniversary but there was no sign of care or acknowledgement of this. For a hotel which prides itself on weddings and celebrating romance, we couldn't help but feel disappointed. Lastly from what we were expecting when we booked and to arriving and what we received we felt a little deceived. We expected to be staying in the beautiful building on the lake however were staying and eating on the mainland. There were no photos on the website when booking of the mainland building however on trip advisor there are. This building was a little younger but a lot more modern and almost trying to match different aesthetics that didn't go or even match and flow into the rooms. This is a case of the experiences, the food and the staff were amazing and so incredibly accommodating - even giving a refund of our second night stay which we checked out before instead of staying in that room again - but just the lack of detail in the room spoiled it.

Lovely room with a suite, a four poster and a huge bathroom. Views of the lake are stunning. I stayed for work and had an evening meal which was very nice. Pleasant grounds and plenty of walking routes should you fancy an evening stroll. I stayed here about 10 years ago and the only disappointing thing was the charge for use of the pool which never used to be the case. Aside from this it’s a great hotel and I’d recommend it and would stay again.
