Booked a king room. When we arrived they said they were overbooked on king rooms and put us in a queen. I called down and let the front office know that I paid more to guarantee a king and they found us one and the room felt newer and nicer. Overall great experience.

I had a nice stay at the Ritz in Dallas. It is an older hotel that was formerly a Four Seasons. They did an extensive renovation recently. My room was spacious. I had a corner king room with a nice balcony. The room wasn’t as clean as I would expect for a Ritz, but wasn’t dirty. The toilet hadn’t been replaced and didn’t work as well as a new one would. Also the sink had a big crack in it. A couple of the power outlets in the room didn’t function. Not what you would expect from a five star property. The star was professional and helpful. The gym is very large and well equipped. All in, I had a nice stay but would not say this property is a 5 star hotel.

Save your money, this is really poor value for the price. Stood in line for nearly 15 minutes to check in— it appears there’s only one person handling all concierge, check in and guest relations duties. Rooms do not have coffeemakers or coffee. I was told they were taken out during the pandemic. But there aren’t any other complimentary alternatives and honestly I’m not really buying the hygiene explanation given that there aren’t any mask or distancing rules or other visible Covid safety measure being taken otherwise that I can see. Wi-Fi is also not complimentary which was not stated upfront so I was left scrambling trying to figure out how to get online right before a work video conference. The in-room phone was not functional; regardless of which button I pressed, I got a busy signal. So ended up having to look up the number on my phone— nothing else in the room provided contact info for the front desk— and being placed on a lengthy hold. When I expressed surprise about the charge for Wi-Fi the response was that this is common among luxury properties which felt dismissive and also not borne out by experience— I travel extensively at this class of hotel and at the very least they let you know in advance what the Wi-Fi situation is. Really disappointed with this experience.

We’re “Lifetime Platinum” after 25 + years of loyalty - and never have my wife and I created with such welcoming warmth and hospitality. Our reservation manager, Thank, was very accommodating to our requests and her helper, Mr Pedro, went above and beyond to help ensure our bags got to our room AND provided a secondary refrigeration for delegate items we needed to be stored in our room. Tremendous experience - Bravo!

Fabulous stay and the staff really goes above and beyond to make it that way. Found the hotel through Amex Fine Hotels and loved the perks and room upgrades. Everyone was lovely, looking to help and making the stay comfortable. The rooftop pool is great and lots of lounges/shade. Did room service salad, salmon with quinoa and dessert which was delicious and a treat. Gym has a lot of options including squat rack. Downstairs coffee shop and I was able to use the complimentary black car service. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely stay here next time I’m in Dallas.
Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek

My third time here, and likely my last. They did however give me a great room assignment based off of the preference call that I made prior to arrival. I am noise sensitive and they assigned me an end-room on the top floor; the entire four day stay was peaceful. And head Concierge Mary is the gem of the hotel; so personable and caring. The front, outside services team is leaps and bounds better than my stay a couple of years ago. Steve was wonderful as were the rest- all very proactive, friendly and welcoming. Again, a big difference from a couple years ago. And they still offer the Lexus driving program which is a great perk of staying at the Mansion, Dallas There was a horrific smell throughout the top floor guest hallway, especially towards the end where my room was. I went down two floors to check if all hallways smelled like this now, and that wasn’t the case. I can’t believe the staff did not notice this nor do anything about it for days. Additionally, the hallway by the gym has old worn carpet, which is a couple years past its replacement requirement, and I just don’t know how they think this is OK. Also smells bad when you enter the locker rooms by the gym. And then for the gym; it is no where near adequate enough for a hotel of the stature that the Mansion once had. A couple aloof, gentlemen that work at the desks in the lobby. This is not necessary, nor appreciated. My first night there I ordered room service and after almost an hour, waiting- at nearly 10 PM, I called and they said it was minutes away. The next morning I called and asked them to please escalate and maybe do something about the charges and they never did, because at check-out they were still there, and I had to request them to be reviewed and possible adjusted. The hotel is in such a wonderful, quiet location right outside the city center in beautiful Turtle Creek and it’s a shame that it’s not quite what it could be.
