Datong tap water is not good, the young couple provides free buckets of water for guests. The rooms are clean and have a generous table, which is very convenient for self-driving tours (more things). Next time I go to Datong, I still live in Xiayang Hotel. It is not to run wrong, Datong has two ”Xiayang”, this is the mining area.

In the hotel, I saw most of the guests walking around in sauna clothes. However, as a hotel for traveling to Datong, it is lackluster. First, the sanitary conditions in the room were not very good, it was very humid and there were bugs. Second, the sound insulation is not good. Facilities such as steam rooms are open until midnight, and the corridors are very noisy when guests return. Third, there is no place to eat around. You have to drive to Weidu Avenue to find food. Fourth, the room service is not good, no one can be found, and the front desk is not enthusiastic. My room card couldn't open the door (it seemed like the door lock was rusted). I went back and forth to the front desk to negotiate, but other than changing my room card (which didn't work), I couldn't think of a solution. After running for the third time, I got angry and used the wireless phone to call customer service to solve the problem. The breakfast buffet is very simple, mainly porridge, steamed buns, fried dough sticks, eggs, and vegetarian dishes. Judging from the prices in Datong, 20 yuan per person is a bit expensive. If you want to enjoy water, steaming and other facilities, you need to purchase additional tickets, and there are no discounts. I chose this hotel because it was recommended by Ctrip. In addition, since I was outside the city, I wanted to go directly to Xuankong Temple the next day without going through the city. But the living experience was not good, and I regretted it. It would be better to live in the city, as Datong is not that big.

Before check-in, the hotel will call to ask if there are children and need children’s toiletries. After check-in, they will be responsive. One thing in particular, the child had a fever at 10 o’clock in the evening, and the nearby pharmacies were closed. After learning about it, Xiao Ma, the front desk staff on duty that night, drove my husband around looking for pharmacies in his car and finally bought the anti-fever medicine. It was already late at night at 11 o'clock, and Xiao Ma should get off work at 11 o'clock. During this stay, we deeply felt the warmth and kindness from the people of Shanxi, and we were very moved and warm. On behalf of the whole family, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Damei Hotel and staff Xiao Ma.

I booked this hotel online; the location is easy to find; you can buy everything nearby; there are supermarkets on both sides; it is very close to the ancient city and only takes about ten minutes to arrive; the service of the lady at the front desk is also very considerate; she also introduced us to Local food; I went to eat it and it tasted pretty good. I was very satisfied with it and recommended it. The hotel also provided free laundry during our stay. The room aunt was very considerate and hung it up for us after washing. The room was very clean. The landlord was a super gentle and enthusiastic aunt. He would prepare breakfast for us. We didn’t get up and kept it for us. We were afraid that we were hungry on the road. He gave two ears of corn and two eggs to let us eat on the road (ps: corn is so sweet and fragrant) We didn't go to live on the first day for personal reasons, and the negotiation went smoothly. The aunt also made up an extra piece for us.
