ibis Mall Avenue Dubai

Al Barsha Dubai|0.77km from Vantage
Our stay at the Ibis was fine. This is our 130th hotel stay this year and among our least favorite experiences. First, it is very clean, so don’t worry about that. But a clean bed and room is all you can expect. Things we didn’t enjoy: -Breakfast is a chaotic cluster. No staff were seating guests. People were sprawled out across the Ibis and adjoining Novotel. It is difficult to find staff to clean off a table or provide new cutlery. The food is fine, but the coffee is horrible. - We were told the room included tea and coffee. When we checked in we notified the front desk we had no coffee and would like some. They told us someone would bring it, but it never arrived. The same thing happened the second day. The third day we asked cleaning staff if they have coffee. They told us they were out and only had decaf. They did provide decaf, but regular coffee should have been available. -The shower is extremely slippery. The shower drain is raised to prevent hair and product from clogging it. But that means people are standing in .5” of water the entire time they are showering. The smooth tiles are extremely slippery when covered in standing water. I’m a 36 year old agile, athletic person. I fell, hitting my knee and face on the tile. There are no grippy mats to reduce slipping. There are no handles to get up from in the shower. - After falling, I asked for a hand towel to wash my face. I was told “we don’t offer hand towels on THIS SIDE of the hotel. Only the Novotel side gets hand towels.” It’s very weird to make people feel lesser than others over hand towels. 🤷♀️ Other small weird stuff: - There are ZERO outlets by the bed. You have to charge all electronics, including your phone, across the room. - The faucet barely hangs over the sink. When you wash your hands, they are against the side of the bowl, and water will run out on the counter. It’s like the designer never used the sink. - They have chosen a strange press soap bottle. It breaks off from the wall daily. -Aside from soap, no basic toiletries are provided. (no shampoo, conditioner, or lotion.) Overall, this place is cheaper than others, but it still costs too much to have this many issues.

!!!The treatment was TERRIBLE AND UNACCEPTABLE!!! This is how we enjoyed your hotel with the help of your 2 Filipina Receptionist. Upon entering the lobby with our family members whom we invited for dinner( the reasons why we stayed at your property in first place) Your Operations Manager - Irish Tadeo without even greeting us, started to mumble to herself saying ”Bawal kayo magpapasok ng bisita dito, may handover ako”. so we stopped. We asked her is there any problem? She, with her rude, big eyes and very demeaning tone just told us ” as per the Dubai policy visitors are not allowed” Working in reputed international hotels, we were quite suprised and taken back, so we asked her to be particular as to which Dubai policy she is referencing to. Because we know very well that if a visitor wishes to visit a hotel guest the reception could grant them entry given that identification card must be provided. BUT. Your Operations Manager said no. And now since she cannot cite whichever Dubai policy she knows, she suddenly change her statement and say that its the ”hotel” policy and it is advertised on the website. Guess what, lo and behold upon checking the website the note she is claiming is not even there. So we kindly ask once again ” If the previous night, visitors were allowed, given that extra payment was done, why this option is not offered to us especially we are only here to visit and have dinner with the family”? Her response is ”no we cannot allow”. When we asked her ”what if we check out now, since we are not happy with our stay due to the treatment we experienced from the time we checked in to how you deal with us?” She answered ” its fine. You can check out but we will not return your money” We hope at least someone can get back to us and clarifiy if certain policies are in place, or their treatment varies depending how much dirhams you are paying them. Anyway, this is just sharing our experience. Thank you Irish Tadeo the best Operations Manager we ever dealt with. Its so unfortunate that City Stay has to bear the poor caliber of employee such as yourself. You are an embarrasment to the accommodating Filipinos and empathetic hoteliers in UAE. Because of you, we were not even able to celebrate the supposedly good news that my sister whom you stopped is expecting a child. Thanks to you!

Sheraton mall the Emirates.....one of the best stay we had in our life. Staff is very attentive and very friendly especially with kids. Good variety of restaurant they have in hotel itself and for more varieties it's connected to Mall of Emirates 😍😍😍. Breakfast buffet also has lots of variety with Indian, continental, oriental food along with live juice bar and fresh local food. Overall 10/10 points.

The location is very good, shopping is convenient, you can cook your own food, wash clothes, and the home is almost the same, there are too few people cleaning. The facilities are a bit old, and it has been a hotel for more than 10 years. I have lived 10 years ago.
